Nose Art

Hi everypuppy and kittycat, it's me - Ammy. Zim was looking out the door to the deck the other day...

Zim, looking out the door

...and I heard Mom start talking about nose art and a "formerly clean door" and a "volunteer to clean the glass".

Well, it's true, the four of us Sibes have put some lovely nose art along the bottom third of the door...

...but I don't think we're responsible for the marks way up there! Who in the world could have done that smudgie?!?!

Ohhhhhh! Hee hee hee!

Love,
Ammy

New Lay-Out For the Studio

Woo, everypup and everycat, it's me - Dave, Guide Dog for the Color Blind. Remember the other day I told you about the rearranging kick Mom has been on? I thought I'd show you what she did to my Studio ... um ... I mean our Studio. Woo.

She's rearranged the Studio before, without my consultation, so this time I figured I'd be a part of things. You can go back to that post to see what it did look like. Here it is now:

Me giving the new arrangement the once-over

It's kind of strange having the big table for the machines on an angle, and is very unlike Mom (she's highly structured), but I kind of like it. It gives a more open feeling, and leaves us with lots of zoomie room. Here's Zim checking it out:

He likes it. Amber came in and wasn't real happy that things were different ... but Mom assured her our toys were still there and that made her feel better.

This is my favorite Nylabone!

So yeah, the new set-up is OK with us. Storm gave it a dew claw up, too.

Mom didn't change the inner room of the Studio, just the outer part. Ammy came in to look anyway.

Is there anything in there I should know about?

I assured her there was nothing she needed to know about in here.

Nope. Not like I have a secret stash of toys or anything!

You can see how exhausted I was after all the rearranging and everything. I've been busy helping Mom, too. Not only have we been making bags and updating her blog, but we got new fabric in - remember I told you about it and Ammy showed you a sneak peak? If anypup wants to see more, go to this link! The redheads and I were very helpful! Oh... and here's one more of the Ram-a-Lamb, just cause she really is the cutest kid sister a guy could ask for.

I should tell her about my private stash of toys, shouldn't I? Woo.

Luv,
Dave

PT With Drill SGT Zim

Ha roo, pups and kits! It's me - Drill SGT Zim! I know Dave showed you some of our fitness equipment last year (wow! a year ago tomorrow - how cool!) when he was doing some pumpin' up to impress Holly. Mom and Dad spend a lot of time in our exercise room, so I thought I should mosey on in and see if I could get a workout of my own in.

Dave didn't think the weight machine or the elliptical machine were too Sibe-friendly, so I went right for the treadmill. Here I am, giving it a go:

This really isn't too bad. I don't understand why Mom is so tired when she gets off this thing, though.

I could keep this up all day.

Have a great day, everypup, and remember to make time for some PT!

Play bows!

Look Into Our Eyes...

Look into our eyes...

...yes, that's it. Good. Very good. Can you feel the power of the Siberian? Great. Now we'd like a cookie, please.

It's Sunday

Ha roo pups and kit-cats. It's me, Zim, and it's Sunday. Find a beam of sunlight and enjoy it.

Sorry, Dave; this one's mine.

That's OK, Zim. I can wait 'til you're done.

Zzzz....
Hmm... this could take a while...

Filling in for my little brother, who seems to be otherwise engaged ... have a peaceful Sunday! Woo.

Luv,
Dave (and the Z-man)

Re-Design Specialists

Woo, everypup and everykitty, it's me, Dave. Mom's on a rearranging kick again. I guess it's some weird "the leaves are changing and so is the furniture arrangement" thing. Neither Ammy nor I really like change that much, so we decided we'd help. You know, just so we could be in on the decision-making process. Here we are, helping.

Ammy and me

It all started in the living room and spread to the Quilt Studio. Again. I made sure I was there to supervise this time and I think it came out better than on the last go-round. Maybe. Ammy helped down there, too, and it was pretty exhausting for us. (Here's an appropriate video for you music aficionados. Woo.) We'll have Mom take pictures later on to show you. We do have a bigger area to do zoomies in now and that's DEFINITELY a good thing! Woo.

Luv,
Dave

I've Been Sibe-Tied

Ha roo, pups and kit-cats! It's me, Zim. I was just laying here thinking abou-WHOA! WHAT'S GOING ON?!!? GREAT BALTO IN THE MORNING! WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE THESE?!?!?

Oh, wait. Sorry. Just my feety-feet. Never mind. Whew.

I forgot what I was going to say now.

Play bows,
Zim

Dogs With Blogs

Woo, everypup and everycat. It's me - Dave. How many of you are members of Dogs With Blogs? Have you submitted anything to the new blog Dogs With Blogs... What It Means To Me? There are some really great posts up there. Please check it out and send in a post of your own.

We sent one in; you can see it here. We thought Steve and Kat submitted a great entry, as did Marvin (wooo, how we miss our pal Marvin!), and... well... all the entries are just great!

I'm going to head down to the Studio later today to give Mom a paw with the new fabric she got in. She washed it and now she needs to iron it. My job is to watch her. I better rest up. It's going to be a tough day. Woo.

Luv,
Dave

PS: We got a really nice comment from our lovely friends China and Madie about one of our older videos. Before Blogger uploaded vids directly, we used a service called Video Egg; unfortunately, that is no longer functioning. We are going to convert those old videos over to Blogger or YouTube. Thanks for asking about them - we'll get them back up and running soon!

Fluffed and Dried

Hi everypuppy and cat. It's me - Ammy. Here's the last picture showing the torture and humiliation Zim and I suffered. That's right - a bath, a fluffing session on the deck, then out front for a picture. Hrumph. This is the "best" of the batch.

Me (Ammy) and Zim
Don't look at her, Zim!
Whatever.

Sigh. We made Mom take about 100 pictures before she got that one. And she only got it because she had a handful of cookies.

Speaking of cookies, look over in our sidebar! See the Happy Hearts Cookies logo? Our very lovely friends Maya Marie, Missy and Bella have helped their mom get her cookie-baking business up and running; you can now place an order for the tastiest treats in the world by going to that link! Take it from me - they are YUMMY!

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our buddies Sunny and Scooter for giving us some "Ladybug Hugs"!

Thank roo; we just LOVE hugs. Especially your fellow Texan, Dave.

Have a happy, bath-free day, everypuppy!
Love,
Ammy

The After-Bath

Or is that "aftermath"? Ha roo roo roo! Hey everypup and everycat! It's me, Zim! I should have known it was coming, but I was hoping Mom would forget or the weather would turn before she got to us redheads. But as Ammy told you, we ended up having to get baths the other day. Showers, really, but let's not mince words.

I went first and I was really mighty cooperative. I'm no Dave, mind you, but compared to somepuppy who screamed the Siberian Death Scream the whole time, I was "good". Ha roo roo roo! (We DID try to rescue Ammy, honest!) Mom initially wasn't going to bathe Am (she wanted to get some good brushings in first), so just Mom and I went out on the deck for a while.

Here I am, after lots of towelling off:

Pretty fluffy, aren't I? Oh, yeah - I got to pick a toy to take outside to play with during the dry-off phase. I chose the toy our great friends Princess Eva and Brice brought us. It's really cool. Here's a close-up:

I had fun playing with Mom. And with the winds up at 20-30 mph, I was dry in no time! In fact, since I was so good and I dried so fast, well... let's just say that's why Mom decided to give Ammy a go. (Sorry, Am. Really.)

She'd like you to think she was tortured the whole time, but Ammy got to go out on the deck and enjoy the afternoon sun and wind, too.

Help me! Help me, someone! I've been abused!

Hee hee hee!

Mom let Ammy pick a toy out to play with, too. Here she is with hers:

She chose the canvas bone-shaped toy that reads "Bite me." She ... uh ... wasn't feeling quite as interactive as I was. Ha roo roo roo!

More pix of us tomorrow!

Play bows,
Zim

Scarier Than The Shower Scene in "Psycho"!

It is, everypuppy and kitty-cat, it really, really is! Oh, sorry - hi, it's me, Ammy. I've barely survived the weekend and wanted to tell you about my ordeal. Only I warn you, as the title states, the video you're about to see is scarier than the shower scene in Psycho! Honest. Brace yourselves. Here goes.

See what I mean? And did you see my brothers in the other room? They tried to rescue me! Oh, sure, they stopped to get in some play moves here and there, but most of the time they were trying to break the door down to save me! They're so brave! Storm was on the bed, directing their efforts. Here's a vid Dad took from their side of the door:

video

I just know if I had directed my screams toward Minne-snow-ta, my very handsome boyfriend Brice would have run down to help. He's not just handsome, he knows how to open doors! Isn't he wonderful? Oh... but back to my horrible day.

After the shower, I went out on the deck. It was in the upper 70s, with 20-30 mile and hour winds. Mom had just bathed Zimmie and it only took him about half an hour to dry. Well, I was out there over an hour with Mom and I was STILL wet. Have I mentioned my thick coat lately? Anyroo, I was tortured with towels and a brush and a comb and everything for SO long. Sigh. It was horrible. Finally, it was time to go in (sorry for the noise the wind makes!):

video

I'm not one to hold a grudge, really. Oh... did I mention Zim woke Mom up at 0200 this morning to take him outside to go potty? And then when they got in, I said I had to go real bad, too. So when Mom took me out, Zim stole her pillow and I piddled real fast then came in and demanded a cookie. Hee hee hee.

Pictures of the aftermath tomorrow. Sigh.

Love,
Ammy

Sunday Salute - Nikki!

Today, we salute our very dear friend Nikki of Northern Cyprus! We've shared lots of Nikki's adventures with you before and thought it was time for a p-update. We heard from Nikki this past week and received some great pictures she said we could share. But we warn you ... these first ones are not for the faint of heart! You see ... Nikki suffered the very same injustice some of us did and there are pictures of the horror! That's right! Shield your eyes if you're like Amber; Nikki ... got a bath!

Woo is me!

They tortured her right out in the open. I'm surprised no one reported her parents. Look at this abuse:

Can I go now?

Oh, sure, she has a view of the Mediterranean Sea from her balcony - but does that really make it any more bearable?!?

Isn't it over yet?

Well, OK. Maybe that would make it would. But not by much!

A little more to the left, Dad...

And of course, even after putting up with the bath, she still does the family proud by guarding the house and gardens.

A Sibe's work is never done

Down on the right-hand side of the picture, you can see some olive trees in Nikki's courtyard! Nikki's dad and some neighbors picked and "brined" the olives last week. Our mom was practically drooling when Nikki's mom told her about the olives and oils and spices and dipping crusty bread in everything and WAIT! INTRUDERS!!! Nikki, look out!!!!!!!

Nothing gets past Nikki! Nothing!

Way to protect your family, Nikki! And we truly sympathize with that whole bath/torture thing. At least Dave and I (Stormy) do. Which reminds me ... isn't it time for some red fluff to start flying!?!?

We salute you, Nikki!

...Brought To You By The Letter "N"

Hi everypuppy and cats! It's me, Amber again! We're playing a cool game today and Stormy said I could post the answers from us! It's from our very handsome friend Ben the Rotti and we're supposed to list 10 things we love starting with the letter "N"! Here we go!

1. Nylabones. They're the toy that lasts the longest around here. If you scroll down to "Toys" in this post, you can see Dave with a stash of ours.

2. Napping. We're Sibes. We're pretty much either running, staring at things or napping. I'd post a link, but really, there are pix of us napping throughout the Ao4 Digest. :)

3. November. That's when the weather starts to get really nice around here. If you're a Siberian. Which is what we are. Moving right along...

4. Nuzzling. As in "nuzzle my muzzle". Stormy especially loves it when Mom nuzzles her muzzle. You can get a good look at all of our muzzles here. Nuzzling our muzzles goes a lot like this, only on our muzzles.

5. Nutro Max Mini Bones. Mmmmm! Here's Dave, with one of our favorite treats!

Mmm...

6. Norway. We visit a blog about some huskies in Norway and it always looks so beautiful! And snowy! Check out the Snorrokks Siberians sometime! I especially like the looks of things in this post. Sigh. Well, there IS an "n" in "snow". :) Come to think of it, New Zealand looks mighty nice, too!

7. Navy, Army, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard ... you get the picture. We love and support our troops!

8. Nachos. Not only tasty (Mom will sometimes let us taste the cheese) but a great opportunity for a joke. You know ... as in, "Hey, Zim, do you know what kind of cheese that is?" "I don't know, Ammy." "It's not yo cheese." Hee hee hee. Zimmie loves it when I tell that one. Really.

9. New fabric! Dave especially like it when Mom gets new fabric in, but we all like to snuffle through it a bit. (Note from Mom: I wash all my fabrics after the Ao4 does their quality control check.) She got a whole BUNCH of new fabric in yesterday and I really liked a couple of them. I think some of Mom's favorite bagaholics might, too. Take a peek:

Oooh, purple!

She'll post more pix of us with the new fabric later - probably on her bag blog.

10. Last, but certainly not least, Nikki! Not only is Nikki my biological mama's name, but our very dear friend in Northern Cyprus is Nikki!!! In fact, we're going to post an update on Nikki in NC tomorrow, so be sure to tune in!

If anypuppy would like a letter from us, please just drop us a comment!

Love,
Ammy

Look Who's Back!

Hi everypuppy and everycat! It's me - Ammy! I was out front with Mom the other evening and she was trying to get a picture of me and I just really didn't want to look at the camera. At first, Mom thought I was just being a good student of the SZK School of Siberian Studies ...

... but then she realized I was staring at something. Or someone. Or ... someBUNNY!

Can you see him up there on the left-hand side? Let me zero in on him a little better.

Yep. It's Oswald. And here I thought he was selling Scions in Topeka. He must commute or something.

Love,
Amber

Froggie Doggie

Ha roo, pups and kit-cats! It's me - Zim. My buddy Steve left a comment on Storm's post from a few days ago. He saw the pix of us laying on the deck - you know, on guard duty! - and asked if I was laying froggie doggie style. He said it's his fav. Mine, too!

I love to lay like this in the southwest corner of the deck especially and to combine the Froggie Doggie with the Snooter Rest on the Railing manuever. Check this out:

I can see all kinds of cool stuff from here, to include our neighbor's veggie garden. He's got a fence around it, but Oswald gets in anyway. He steals tomatoes then comes over to our yard to eat them. Ha roo roo roo! I can look over there for Ossie...

Hey, Oswald! Are you out there?!

OR I can turn my head 90-degrees and rest my snooter on the other railing. All without having to move anything other than my neck.

It's very tricky, and I don't recommend this move to beginners. I've practiced it for years and have it down to a science.

I Don't Remember Borrowing Anything...

Ha roo, pups and kit-cats! It's me, Zim! I was scrolling through the camera and found this picture of Storm from the other day:

Storms

Ha roo roo roo! Not only did she have to get a bath, but she actually cooperated for a photo after all! Ha roo roo roo!

Oh, so did the LabraDave, of course:

Davy

Then Mom asked me and Ammy if we'd come out front for a couple pictures. Sounded good to me. Pictures are harmless.

Me - Zim!

Then Mom started talking about Stormy and Dave's baths and once our rainy spell is over and something about us redheads. She used one of those silly biped phrase with the words "living on borrowed time". Couldn't have had anything to do with Ammy and me; I don't remember borrowing anything!

Oh, Zimmie... this could be bad. This could be VERY bad!

Maybe Amber borrowed it. As that famous actor Scooby Doo once said, "R'uh-r'oh!"

Zim

Photos After the Bath

Woo, everypup. It's me. Dave. As Stormy mentioned, both she and I got to have baths last week. I'm a good bath-taker. I love getting all soaped up and massaged and fluffed and all the extra time with my mom. Woo. I even got to go hang out on the deck with Dad and the redheads while Stormy took her turn. She must get a different kind of bath than I get, 'cuz she looked mighty miffed when she joined us on the deck.

Anywoo, we also got a special walk with Mom, then she wanted to take pictures of us in the front yard. Sounded like a good idea to me.

How's this, Mom?

But then Storm told me she was about to revoke my Siberian Husky ID card for being too cooperative for my bath, so when Mom asked us to pose together, I decided to be more Sibe-like. We did sit together, but then Storm told me to look away.

Dave! Don't do it! Look away!
OK, Storm. Umm, hey, what's that in the garden?

Then Mom went around behind us, so we looked at where she had been.

Then Mom moved again and almost got us looking at the camera!

It was a close call. Storm said we'd put in a full day's Sibe-work and could go. I guess Mom wasn't listening and she tried to get one more picture.

Let's go, Dave. Our work here is done.
Gotcha, Storms. I'm outta here.

Sorry, Mom. Just trying to maintain my Siberian identity. Woo.

Luv,
Dave
