The other day, Mom filled our "under supervision only chew-type toys" up with some snacks and was -- oh, right. Cam showed you some pix on Friday. Anyway, she took some shots of us playing with the toys, then after I got all the treats out of that ball, I noticed Mom was still taking shots of Cam. I felt it was my duty to go over and help!
"OK, Cam... I've just about got the---" "Hey, Mom! Whatcha doing?!? Practicing that focus thing again?!?" "Sigh." |
Seriously - I think she needed my help.
Anyway, later that evening, since I had been so helpful with the other shots, Mom took me with her when she went out to shoot the sunset. Take a look:
Beautiful, isn't it? God sure blessed us Kansas peeps with amazing skies! That's from right off our deck. Mom was shooting in HDR - high dynamic range - which she doesn't usually do. Something about "moving subjects" not being ideal for HDR. Whatever. Despite that, she wanted to take a picture of me in front of the sunset, to do a silhouette. Here is the "plain", unfiltered version:
I kinda like that one, but Mom wanted to play with filters. Here are a few other versions:

Straight out of the iPhone, except for the watermark |
I kinda like that one, but Mom wanted to play with filters. Here are a few other versions:
Sort of more teal in color |
Purple, for the K-State fans out there! |
The warm, Summer sunset version |
Even at sunset, it was still in the 80s or 90s, so the last one sort of fits. I'm sort of partial to the "plain" version, but Cam likes the purple one. What do you all think?
I got treats, so I'm happy to help Mom with her homework!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
You have an adorable nose. And that's a beautiful sky shot.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW - they are all great, even the snooter shot. We love every one of the silhouette ones too, but our favorite would be teal filter.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
What grreat pics! We love all the sunset ones, but I like the teal. Just a little hint of extra color without going overboard.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! The sunsets are amazing---and your mom is doing a great job capturing the beauty--of YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, those are just beautifuls!!! I likes the plain one, butts Ma likes the purple one too! Ma has to gets on this iphone photo thingie! Ma wants to know if you can hold it with one hand? Gorgeous sunset! Wow! I haven't played much with HDR. In the silhouettes, I think that I like the plain one the best but the purple filter is pretty darn cool!
