Serene Scenery Sunday

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  My brothers said I did so well at the Triple S last week that I could give it a go again!  I thought this time I'd share pictures of miscellaneous things that made me feel serene during the week.  Ready?

I spent lots of time hanging out with both of my brothers.

That always makes me feel good.

I also hung out just with Zim -

Double-Sibe Mind-Meld on Mom
(We went on a great walk after this!)

- and just with Dave.

And more time with just Zimmie:

"Great walk, Mom, thanks!  Zim and I had tons of fun!"

This made me feel serene, too:

"The Kansas Ocean!"

Why would Zim going on a ride make me feel serene? Because I like it when he's happy AND because after he got home, Mom and I did our head-nuzzles thing (I love doing this with her!) ...

"Mom.   Mom."
"Cammie!    Cammie!"

... and then we went out to play in the garden together! Mom took lots of pix of the flowers (they're all at the end of our Garden 2013 set on FlickR, if you'd like to see them) and a few of me, too!

Here I am by the Day Lilies:

I heard one of them attacked my mom one year, so I made sure I stuck close to her while she was near them! (When Mom was removing the Winter growth from them one year, one of the dry stems attacked her and stuck her in the eye! She had to go to the hospital and everything, but she ended up being OK.)

And here's one last picture of me in the upper part of the garden:

Mom really likes that one, so it makes her serene! I like running around in the garden, then stopping to pose, so we BOTH got what we wanted out of that!

I hope you feel nice and peaceful inside now! Have a wonderful Sunday.

Gotta Find Me First

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me, Zim.  So there I was the other day, just kicking back in the bedroom when Mom surprised me; I thought she was outside weeding or something.  I was mistaken.  Fair enough ... but now grab this by the neck and shake it:  she accused me of digging in her bed.  Me!  Digging!

"Oh.  I thought you were outside.  I ... err ... Would you believe I found the bed this way?"

She didn't seem to buy into the whole "I found it this way" excuse and asked me to get down so she could remake the bed.

"You're kidding, right?"

C'mon.  Does she actually just think I'd jump down after getting it all fluffed up and comfy?

"Gotta find me first, Mom!"

"She'll never find me now."

Seriously.  She's dealing with a master of concealment.

Photo Finish Friday

Woo, everypup and everycat.  It's me, Dave, here with Photo Finish Friday and a little advice on how to talk to girls.  No, really.  It's important stuff.  See... when your sister looks at you like this and asks:

"Davy, does this make my feety-feet look big?"

The best answer of course is:

"What?!?  Are you kidding me?  Uh... hey, Mom, Cammie needs some salmon treats!"

Seriously.  Piece of cake.  Or in this case, salmon.

A Deer!

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me, Zim.  Guess what Cam and I saw on our early morning walk th--oh.  The title of my post gave it away, didn't it?  OK.  Well, let me tell you how it went ...

Our walk started out like most of our early morning walks ...

Cam and me - heading out!

... only we were walking Mom this morning, not Dad. We're under a severe heat warning, so we made sure to get Mom out early and for a nice, long walk!

At about the half-way point, someone's lawn sprinklers were on. They were getting the sidewalk all wet and Mom let us walk right through them. As Siberians, we are normally averse to water but hey, it was sprinklers! Sprinklers are fun! Besides, Mom got wet, too. (Someone might have dilly-dallied a bit to make sure Mom was still in the line of fire when the sprinkler veered back toward the sidewalk ...) Anyway, those people live where the sidewalk ends and next to a vacant lot.

"Look, Zimmie!  Mud!"

Yep.  Wonderful, cooling, messy mud!  But did Mom let us walk through it?  Ha.  I think we all know the answer to that one.  What a kill-joy!

But anyway, we headed up the big hill on the new road (the one Cam showed you here) and that's when I saw the deer!!!

"Cam-a-roo!  Mom!  Look - a deer!!!"

Cammie was at my side in a flash!

"Oh, Zimmie!"
"Ha roo roo roo!  That one never gets old!"

Yeah, OK, so it was a Deere, not a deer - but it was STILL exciting!

"What do we do with this thing, Zim?"
"Why don't you get in the bucket and I'll fire it up!?!"

I assured Cammie I have tons of experience with these things.

"OK, Zim - if you're sure!"
"No problem.  Let me do a little safety inspection first."

It was safe enough, but alas, I couldn't find the keys.  Mom said it was time to head on back to the house and get some water anyway.  It sure was a fun thing to see this morning!

I hope all of you have a great day -- stay cool, friends!

'Cuz We're Makin' ...

"... ♩  Stinky!  Stinky Goodness!  Tastiest treats in the land!!! ... "

Oh, sorry!  Ha roo, pups and cool cats - it's me, Zim!  Guess what day it is today?

"I Stinky Goodness!"

That's right - it's Make A New Batch Of Stinky Goodness Day!  I love days like this!

" ... ♩Stinky!  Stinky Goodness!  Mom's got it all over her hands! ♩ ..."

OK, gotta run for now!

Ha roo, pups and cool cats, it's me, Zim!  As many of you know, I just LOVE going cruisin' with my mom.  Now that it's Summertime and the heat and humidity have replaced our lovely bitterly cold weather, we have to take some precautions.

"Hmm.  4 p.m.  Gonna be mighty toasty out there."

Before we even leave the garage, we take special measures.

"Crank it up to Siber-speed, Mom!"

Not the engine.  Not the radio.  The AIR CONDITIONER!

"Oh, yeah!  That feels great!"

I only go with Mom when I can go in where she's going or if we're just driving around together.  Where she goes, I go!  You all know how hot cars can get, right?  (Check out this chart for a reminder.)    I'm all for cruisin' around for Summer fun - but, as always, safety first!

Serene Scenery Sunday

Hello, everyone. It's me, Cammie.  For Serene Scenery Sunday this week, I thought I'd take you out into our back yard!  Ready?  It's very fun and serene and everything back there!

The big news out there this week is that our friend Bart is back!

"Good eeeeeevening!"

Bart the Bat spends his Summers with us, living on the underside of our upper deck. (For some back-story to him, please click here. Mom even named one of her bags after him!)  Anyway - hi, Bart!  Welcome home and please eat lots of mosquitoes!!!

Down to the yard we go!

Run and stretch!

All the sedum plants I showed you before are looking good - and look at how tall the Blue Dune Grass is!

I've pretty much learned not to jump off the retaining walls now. But did you notice the training lead? Apparently there are rules about going under the lower deck and behind the bushes.

Yes, like that. We aren't supposed to do that. Who knew? My brothers are right, though. Doing a cute pose afterwards erases it from Mom's mind. Like this:

Or this:

Oh, those are the lavender plants down there. Want to go check them out?

There is a pink one, then there are some purple ones!  They've taken off like crazy this year, so Mom is very happy!

Here I am, looking at the lavender from another angle.

No, of course I wasn't thinking about jumping off the retaining wall! How could you even think that?

Here is the Creeping Red Thyme:

It's pink. I just don't get that!

Behind me is the Butterfly Weed! Let's turn around, then sit and admire it for a minute.

You can click here for a close-up, if you'd like.

Oh. Ready to move along?

Let's go!

Here's a close-up of one of our Day Lilies:

Just up from where those are is a pretty Fountain Grass:

Mom asked me to pose for a couple portraits, so I did this:

Mom thought I looked toasty and suggested we should head inside.

I hope you feel nice and serene after  touring our back yard!  One more pose ...

... and it's time to head into the air-conditioning for a drink of water and a nap!

Stay cool and stay serene!

Coach Dave

Woo, everypup and everycat.  It's me, Dave.  I was hanging out with my little sister the other day when she ... well, it went like this.

"Woo, little sis.  Whatcha doing?"
"Davy, I've already been on a couple walks and played in the back yard and did zoomies ... but ..."

There was something else the little one wanted to do.  I could tell.

"Don't be sad, Cam!  Just tell me what you wanna do."
"I don't know, Dave ..."

She was afraid I'd laugh at her.  I promised I wouldn't.

"You can tell me, Cammie!"
"Well ... there's this other game I want to play ..."

She was worried no one would want to play her game.  I assured her she had a prospective playmate right in front of her and offered to coach her!

"That's it, Camo.
Look straight at the subject ...
make your eyes REAL big and as soulful as possible ...
and concentrate!"

Before she knew it, Cammie had her first client.

"Hi, Mom.  How would you like your hair styled?"
"Just give it a little fluffing, please!"

Cammie and Mom had tons of fun, then Cam asked if I'd like in on the action!

"Hi, Mom.  Mom?  Hi, Mom."

I've done Mom's hair before, so I was basically just in it for the snuggles.

Meanwhile, across the living room ...

"Sometimes I really just can't figure you guys out ...
Nice job coaching Cam on the Sad Eyes Look, though, Dave!"

Anyway, so that's pretty much how it went.  Cammie is one smart little sister, but I think there are still some things Coach Dave can help her learn!  I'm sure proud of how fast she picks things up!

Photo Finish Friday

Hello, everyone.  It's me, Cam.  For Photo Finish Friday, I let my mom take some portrait shots of me with her iPad. Here's one for you:

My serious side

Nice, isn't it?

"Haven't you forgotten something?"

"That's better.  Thanks, Mom.  A little higher, please."

Happy Friday and have a great weekend, everyone!
