Simple Pleasures
Greetings to all! It’s me, Maggie. Yesterday, it got up into the 60s, so we got lots of walking in and backyard playtime and toy time and zoomie time and Crazed River Otter Games ... and so last night, instead of watching TV, I did this:
It felt wonderful! Simple pleasures really are the best!
Enjoy the weekend!

Workout!
Greetings to all! It's me, Maggie, here with a great way to help your biped get in a little extra workout! Ready to get to work?!?
It's a little thing we call Siberian Rules Fetch, and it goes like this: have your biped throw a toy for you (ball, disc, Wubba ... anything will do!), then ... (roll tape!) ...
And repeat as desired! You get some exercise, your biped gets some exercise ... it's a win-win! Bonus points if you make her (or him) run uphill!
"Ready?!!?" |

"Me? Tired? No way! Let's play some more!" |
Apparently bipeds tire out much faster than Siberian Huskies. Anyway, it's a great time-filler between morning and afternoon walks! What fun!
What do you do to help your biped get a good workout in?
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Posing A Problem
Hello, everyone. It's me, Cammie. So there we were, trying really hard to come up with a super-cute pose for Mom ...
Maggie said the lavender was posing a problem. I think posing may have been the problem!
Do you see what I have to put up with around here? Sigh.
Cammie!
"How's this, Mom?" "Hey. I have a lavender branch in front of my snooter." |
"Seriously, Maggie? You're fine." "Easy for you to say. You're not the one being tormented by a lavender branch." |
"Sigh. I just can't even ..." "Fine. Here. How's this?" |

I Can ID That Fruit In ...
Hello, everyone. It's me, Cammie. So there I was the other evening, helping out in the kitchen, when ...
"Excuse me. Is that a pear? Asian Pear. Korean Pear, to be more precise... Big ... juicy ... crunchy ..." |
One of my very favorite foods. And the best part about a Korean Pear? They're huge - so there is more to share with me! And Maggie.
Oh, how I love pears! Do you have favorite foods?
Cammie!

Serene Scenery Sunday
Hello, everyone! It's me, Cammie! This week, for Serene Scenery Sunday, I thought I'd share some photos from a couple of days ago. Maggie and I had individual playtime in the backyard, and I had just the most peaceful time back there! Ready to take a look?
After a bit of exploring, I did some posing.
Mom is taking a class on Affinity Photo. Some of her recent lessons have been about black and white:
Mom was pleased with that shot, so I moved on.
Guess who won?

"C'mon! Race you to the gate, Mom!" |
Guess who won?
"What's taking you so long?" |
OK ... Mom was down on a lower tier in the yard, so it might not have been a totally fair race. ... And frankly, I just walked over there. I was feeling the tranquility and didn't want to rush.
It was a very serene time! Can you feel it? Have a wonderful Sunday!

Grab The Popcorn!
Greetings to all! It's me, Maggie. Cam was going to post this movie yesterday, but we thought given that today is Saturday, you'd have more time to pop some popcorn, grab a bowl of water, and settle in for our video.
Ready to take a look? We had just had a great play session and were winding down. Roll it!

Shhh! Be Verrrrry Quiet!
Greetings to all! It's me, Maggie! So ... now that you've seen some pix and a vid of Cam and me in the backyard enjoying the snow, let me tell you what it was like when I first got out there.
After the snow fell, Mom decided to take us out there one at a time. I got to go first, because I would have been singing the song of my people at the top of my lungs otherwise I'm special. Ahem. Anyway, I thought it would be cool -- first one in the fresh snow! Only this is what I found when I got out there:
I had a pretty good idea who it was. Remember we've told you there's a bunny the size of a small horse that lives in our yard? I just KNEW that was who it was!
I followed his tracks up and around to our Friendship Garden:

"Hey! What the-- some bunny's been all OVER our yard?!?" |

"We must be verrrrry quiet! Tip-toes, everyone!" |
I followed his tracks up and around to our Friendship Garden:
"Hey! Bunny rabbit! Are you in there?!?" |
The Friendship Garden looks a bit different in Winter, doesn't it? Anyway, he wasn't there.
I went over to the retaining wall and scanned for him:
The good news - stick with me here - is that I didn't see him anywhere and neither did Mom. Why is that good news? Because Mom took me off the 6' leash and let me just trail the 30' one. THEN ... while I was playing Siberian Rules Fetch, he ran RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! For whatever reason, Mom did not get photos of it, but he did -- and let me tell you, those bunnies can FLY! He ran in front of me and dove right off the bottom retaining wall, then ran under the fence faster than I could zip down there. It was so awesome!
For some reason, we're back on leashes in the fenced-in yard again. Life is so unfair sometimes!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Siberian Rules Fetch!
Greetings to all! It's me, Maggie! As I mentioned, we got some GREAT snow over the weekend. More is on its way now - is that great or what?!? Anyway, because there are chemicals all over our streets, our walks have been limited to short ones, where we can stay on sidewalks and not cross those streets. In order to give me ample exercise, Mom and I went out and played in our backyard together. It. Was. Awesome!
Instead of me telling you about it ...
... how about I run a short vid?
I can't wait for today's snow! This is great!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Movie Review
Greetings to all! It's me, Maggie! Did anyone do anything fun over the weekend? We got about 3 inches of snow, so that was pretty great right there! We also watched a big PGA golf tournament that ended up in a playoff between two guys from Kansas! How cool is that? Played with toys, had several rounds of Crazed River Otter Games, played in the snow. And ... we watched a movie. I was very interested in it and thought I'd give you my review.
We watched Kong: Skull Island. There were some crazy-big animals, some cool chase scenes, and some big explosions ...
... and that was all good. Pretty cool special effects, too.
What didn't make sense to me in the slightest (other than the ridiculous portrayal of what people in the US Army are like) was that there was not one single KONG in the movie!
Clearly that guy was surprised, too. I mean, if it's called Kong: Skull Island, I expect there to be a KONG or two!
Harumph! "Kong", indeed.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Serene Scenery Sunday - The Portraits
Hello, everyone! It's me, Cammie! Yesterday Maggie, Mom, and I had a wonderful time playing in the backyard - a lot of snoofing, Crazed River Otter Games (CROG), and running were involved. And ... we agreed to some posing afterwards, too!
We started on the upper wall.
It was fun - even if Maggie caught me. Oh. And even though we aren't "supposed to" run behind the bushes. We actually DID come out when Mom called us. It's good to throw her off like that. Anyway ...
We moved under the Amur Maples and Mom just loved how the branches framed us under the blue, blue, BLUE Kansas sky!
He wasn't. This time. We always have to check.
(For the record, Mags was right -- it was in the 50s yesterday, and today, as I dictate this, it's snowing and 11°F with a windchill of 0°! Change, indeed!)
One more shot:
We started on the upper wall.
"I only ran behind the bushes to try to get away from Maggie." "Yeah. How did that work out, Cam? Ha roo roo roo." |

"Ah! What a great day!" "I wonder if that big bunny's out?" |
He wasn't. This time. We always have to check.
"I feel a north wind, Cam! Big weather change coming." "The sunshine feels nice on my snooter!" |

One more shot:
"Mom? What are you doing down there?" "Are you OK?" |
Don't ask me; I have no idea what she was doing!
I hope you enjoyed our serene portraits!
Cammie!

Photo Finish Friday: More From The Backyard
Greetings to all! It's me, Maggie! Cam and I thought we'd show you more photos from our photo shoot in the backyard the other day. We were highly cooperative when it came to posing!
Here we are on the south end of the upper retaining wall:
When things get too boring, it's important to make everyone smile. Check me out in this next shot:
Did you laugh? Smile, at least? I thought so!
We did another pose on the middle tier:
Cammie did a SUPER sweet pose for Mom:
And then ...
You know how it goes. Have to liven things up - right?
We. Had. A blast.
Here we are, ready to open the gate and head back up:
We were so happy (... and quite possibly a bit tired ...), that we even did a nice pose out front!
As Cam said yesterday, we had SUCH fun! And I think Mom did, too!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Thanks And Backyard Playtime
Hello, everyone! It's me, Cammie! Before we get to today's post, Maggie and I wanted to thank our dear friend Mr. Teddy Westlife for coming over to help us solve the Case of the Missing Ocean. We couldn't have done it without him; we promise to keep you all posted on the progress of our new, improved Kansas Ocean!
OK. So, yesterday afternoon, Mom thought it would be a good idea to go out into the backyard to take some photos. We had a lovely, deep blue sky, warm temps ... just a great day to be outside. Maggie and I, being the perfect angels that we are, accommodated her with this lovely shot:
Who could ask for more - right?
That's all there was to it!
OK. There may have been a little bit of this:
... and a little bit of this:
... but REALLY! We gave her several very nice poses!
OK. There may have been a whole lot of this:
Oh, wow, did we ever have fun!
Cammie!
