Mom tried to shoot a video of me in action, but (1) I'm fast and (2) I'm sneaky. Here's the gist of it!
First, you need those cellular cordless blinds. Ours happen to be bottom up and top down, but I can't really reach the top, so that part doesn't matter. There is a little tab at the bottom for the bipeds to grasp when they open them -- you don't really need that, but you can use it if you need to. Press your ear tips gently against the blind to hold it in place, then scoop the blind up with your snooter!
"Annnnd .... I'm in. Hey. Somebody left the gate open!" |
Note the ear tip. Don't press so hard that you damage the blinds, just enough to hold them steady. That comes in handy for the "sneaky" part -- you don't want the blinds rattling around, making noise if you're trying to be sneaky. You know -- like if your Dad doesn't really know that you know how to open the blinds. Ahem, Dad.
Before you know it, you'll be in business.
"What the ..." "Yeah. I see you, Mr. The Painter!!!" |
Kiki and Nala - and anyone else out there who was curious - I hope you'll give this a try. There's really nothing to it. It's really a great skill to have.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
We will have to make sure to order those cordless type of shades next time ours need to be replaced. All of our shades have cords so we are out of luck to open them on our own.
ReplyDeleteLOL LOL LOL I love that last photo and caption. If Mr. Painter thought he was on his own w/o snoopervision he was MISTAKEN!!!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is gorgeous WOW your mom made it too. If sold at BB&B it would be at least $87,000.

I wish that I had your kind of blinds, Maggie. I love being Miss Nosy too!
ReplyDelete**mom makes a note to NEVER buy blinds like that....
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tutorial.
ReplyDeleteVery clever, Maggie! It's good you learned to do that to keep an eye on the painter!
ReplyDeleteBOL - thanks for the tip. We have two windows where we think we might be able to apply your technique, but those big windows at the back of the house - darn it - Mom and Dad got those motorized ones and we can't reach the remote to get them to go up!!!

tee hee! you are so clever, Maggie! and talented :) we don't have those sorts of blinds in our house because our mom says we'd either shred them or hang ourselves in them, and...well, let's face it, she's probably right :D

Oh wow, that's SO clever! I'm going to have to practice that. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo THATS how you did it! We are so happy to find out via your excellent tutorial because our mom got this exact type of blinds installed this year! Unfortunately, our are a little higher up so we will have to stand up on the sill to try your trick. Nala is not up for it but I sure am!
