Blog Break!

Tail wags, dear readers! It's me - Stormy. As many of you know, our mom's been working on a super-secret project. It's coming along just fine, but now she's about to start "Phase Two". "Phase Two" is very secret and unfortunately it's going to require so much involvement from Mom that we're going to be off the air for a few days. This means no posting - and more sadly, we won't be able to visit your blogs. We promise to get caught up next week and we also promise to fill you in on any details of the super-secret project that you'd like to hear!

Until then, here are some pix of us in our snow. Mom took each one of us out in the sub-zero temps yesterday (it's even colder today!) and took a few shots.

He does have a bit of a sad, serious look on his face, doesn't he? It's because the snow plow was coming down the street and he was afraid it would mess up his cool snow forts. Mom took pity on him and let him do this:

Ha woo, all. Just real quick - Storm and Zim are rock stars! Channel 49 Topeka's Storm Team aired their pix on the 6 o'clock and 10 o'clock news this week! You can see them on the website, too - here and here! Thanks 49 Storm Team!!! Dave - out.

Snow Day!

Ha roo, everypup and everycat! It's me - Zim! All the weather bipeds kept saying we were going to get pounded by a major snow storm today. Ammy confirmed yesterday, then posted a "Here it comes!" to Mom's FaceBook page last night. So far, we have at least 4 inches. Here's Ammy from early this morning:

Us redheads went out after Dad shoveled for the first time to admire his work. Here I am:

I was catching snowflakes on my snooter. Ha roo roo roo!

We went on a nice family walk, of course, to celebrate our first big snow day. Here's Stormy, leading the way:

When we got back to Ao4 HQs, Dave and Storm checked the Mugho bush for bunnies.

As you can see from their backs, it was (and is, as of this writing) still coming down.

Ammy and I told Dad we still had some unfinished business, so Dave got comfy in the driveway:

After we did what we needed to do, I thought it was time to get busy on building a really cool snow fort! I always build a really cool snow fort when we get enough snow. It's what I do. Here's a collage of me, hard at work, and Dave coming in to help.

As you can tell, it's something I take very seriously!

Dave and I got some playtime in, too, though - fear not! Mom calls this photo "Bliss".

Start of the Work Week

Ha roo, pups and kit-cats! It's me - Zim. Yep, the beginning of another work week here at Ao4 Headquarters. I was just helping Mom make the bed.

I got pretty exhausted right around the "fluff the pillows stage"...

Whew! This is tough work!

...but kept on going. I knew Mom needed me!

Mom, I don't know if I can go on...

Is it break time yet?

And that's when Mom gave me JUST what I needed to recharge my batteries!

I was all charged up and ready to go another round - just about the time Dave came in.

He got a quick tummy-rub, then we did zoomies. A good start to the work day, don't you think?

Serene Scenery Sunday

Woo, everypup and everycat. It's me, Dave, here with Serene Scenery Sunday. As my kid brother told you yesterday, we were such a help to Mom while she was working with that indull... indellybull... indebib... permanent ink that she took us boys on a really nice long walk. I thought I'd share some pictures with you, since that walk made us all feel nice and serene. Ready to get hiking?

We saw these really cool berries on the walk. Someredhead was too busy trying to eat them for Mom to get a photo, but she did snap these the other day:

These are from the walk the redheads took down the Hudson Trail; they saw the same berries! Can you see the berries OK? Mom didn't have the Nikon with her, just the iPhone, so she couldn't get a close up. Maybe a lighter background would help you see them more clearly...

Isn't that better? Zim's a real helpful guy, isn't he?

On to the rest of our walk. We were up at the crest of one of our hills in the undeveloped area. Now that it's been really, really cold, Mom's not as concerned about bugs and stuff. Here I am, checking everything out:

Yeah. It was so beautiful up there. The sun was starting to set, so we headed home. As we turned, Zim looked at me and asked...

Even More Work!

Ha roo, pups and cool-cats! It's me, Zim. Remember we told you a while ago about how helpful we've been to Mom while she works on her super-secret project? We're still being REAL supportive as she wraps the project up. In fact, she's been working on some sort of label involving detailed calligraphy, indelible ink -- I don't know. But we thought doing zoomies while she was writing with that permanent ink stuff was a great idea. Apparently she thought it was such a good idea, she stopped what she was doing and took me and Dave on a real long walk. Pretty cool, don't you think?

Anyway, she didn't get any pix of me helping yesterday, but here are some from when I was helping before that.

First I came into the outer part of the Studio to check the AO.

Hey, Mom. Whatcha doing? Need some help? Wanna take a break?

Then I gave her my best play bow:

She said she couldn't play right then...

Sigh...

...but then promised we could go on a nice long walk when she was done.

I'll wait right here.

Stormy taught me that if you hang around and give the Sad-Eyes Look, the walk will come a lot sooner. Ha roo roo roo! (And never fear... Storm was right, and Mom delivered! More on that tomorrow!)

Photo Finish Friday

Tail wags, dear readers! Welcome to another edition of Photo Finish Friday. I'd call this "The Black and White Edition" but you might get the wrong idea. I don't mean the photos are in black and white, I mean they're of the black and whites -- Dave and me!

Let's start with a collage of a walk he and I took together:

Pretty cool using the arctic camo background, given my new leash, don't you think? (The Deeve is on the left in all those pix. He insists on walking to Mom's left - or to the left of whoever is in charge. Which would explain why he's on my left. Ha roo roo roo!)

Anyway, we had a cool walk (literally cold, as winter temps have hit us here at Ao4 HQs). Nothing too remarkable happened except that when we got back, the FedEx man had just pulled up to deliver a package. I had Mom sign for it while I checked it out.

Anything in here for us?!?!

Sadly, it was from the Apple Store; nothing for us Sibes.

Hey Mr. FedEx? Can you check the truck again?

Maybe there's something for us!

There wasn't. But we did get to schmooze with him, which was great.

We didn't want to overwhelm him, so we took turns greeting him. Dave got some ear scratchies, then guarded the package.

I have to say, he looks mighty handsome there, doesn't he? I greeted the FedEx man next.

Scratch my ears? That would be great; thank you.

He was impressed with my manners.

Hit The Trail With the Redheads!

Hi everypuppy and everycat! It's me - Ammy! Did you see Zimmie's Wordless Wednesday post yesterday!? We had just the BEST walk the other day! He and I went down lots of parts of the Hudson Trail and we saw about a million squirrels! They were everywhere! It was very exciting! We saw lots of other things, too. Mom took pix with her iPhone so we could tell you all about it.

Here's a collage I put together of some of the photos:

You can see us on different parts of the trail, pulling and snoofing and checking the treetops for squirrels! Remember the new color-coding - my leash is hot pink camo and Zim's is woodland green!

At one point during our walk, we heard these VERY loud calls of "Ha-looooo! Ha-looooo!" The voices were VERY friendly and excited! I looked over and this is what I saw:

Can you see them behind their fence? (You can click and see a larger image in FlickR.) It was a trio of Bassets! We wagged our tails at them and asked if they knew Martha and Bailey Basset, but they said they didn't. That's really too bad - they would all make a lovely quintet!

There were all kinds of wonderful smells on the trail! Here is Zim, checking out some crunchy leaves:

Do you remember the limestone chunks Zim posed on when we had our foggy walk? We got to walk down the part of the trail that starts/ends there - and Mom asked us to pose on the rocks. Here's a collage:

Do you see the picture of Zimmie in the top row, third picture from the left? We saw a fire engine go by! Can you see it? We thought about singing with the siren, but decided not to. Oh! And see the shot of Zim in the bottom row, also third one over? He was thinking about doing something other than striking a pose on the limestone... if you boy puppies know what I mean.

Hee hee hee! Zim's so funny!

He can always make me laugh. A puppy's got to do what a puppy's got to do!

In other news, remember Mom's super secret project? Everything's done except for making a label (she does special calligraphy on the back) and doing a special inscription type thingie. Here's the front so far:

She's very happy about this, and so are we - more time for walkies!!! Umm... after the whole calligraphy thing. Yea!
