Political Speech, Etc.

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  The other day, Cam and I went down to Mom's Studio to help her with a new project.  Remember a little bit ago, we showed you the new pink and green leashes she made?  She decided we needed new leads to go with our purple and blue harnesses, too - ones that match!

Mom got busy with this:

... And we got busy, as well, with a rousing round of Crazed River Otter Games. It was awesome. Mom took a short vid - we'll probably share it tomorrow. Anyway, afterwards, we took a short break. I thought it would be the perfect time for me to deliver one of my very important political speeches. Here's a short clip -- it was my closing arguments.

Once I had delivered my full address, both Cam and I were ready for a short break.

Mom seemed to get a lot done during that short recess, and before we knew it, she was calling out, "Hey, girls! Check it out!"

For the record, I have no idea why she doesn't get more done during my speeches or while we're playing Crazed River Otter Games!

Greetings to all.  It's me, Maggie.  I just want to show you a quick look at the friend I made at the KSU Rodeo.  I met him on the second day we went ...

"Greetings!  You're sure a nice horsie!  Want to be friends?"
"Umm... OK."

I stayed nice and calm (and so did he) - and he came closer.

"I'm Polargold's Margaret Thatcher, but you can call me Mags."
"Hay, Mags."

I loved having him come close!  We both remained nice and calm, and exchanged pleasantries for a bit.  When it was time for Cam and me to continue on our walk ...

"Kiss-kiss!"
" ❤"

What can I say?  If you really like someone, you should let him know!

Back To The Rodeo!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Did everyone enjoy our great walk yesterday, where we stopped by to see some of the horses at the K-State Rodeo!?  I hope so, because we got to go back!

My first stop was to see my friend with the heart on his forehead! He was happy enough to see me, but ...

"Chomp, chomp... hi, Cam ... chomp ..."

 ... he was having breakfast, so I didn't want to disturb him.

This horse and I seemed to hit it off:

"Hello!"

I like all of his tiny freckles!

Outside, we saw these guys having a meeting:

And also saw something quite astonishing!

Moving right along ...

We stopped by this pen and looked closely at who was inside.

"Hey, Maggie!  Look at all of those guys!"
"Oh, yeah, Cam.  Not just horses today!"

"It's a bunch of bull!  I mean bulls..."
"Ha roo woo roo!"

"Mmmmmoooo!"

"Well, he didn't have to use THAT kind of language!  It was just a joke."

Anyway, it was a great trip back to the park!  Be sure to tune in tomorrow, when Maggie will show you a VERY special friend she made!

Great Walk!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  We had a WONDERFUL weekend - except for the weather (sunny and in the upper 70s; we'd prefer snowing and in the 20s ... )  Mom and Dad, however, seemed rather thrilled about the weather, so we spent tons of time outside.  We did like that part - especially the walks we took!

Saturday, we walked to the park.  We normally love going to the park, and this time it was even better!  The walk started out like any other great walk - a little bit of this:

"Ha ROO!"
"Ha roo to YOU!"

... and a little bit of this:

We didn't think we were going quite as far as the park, or we might have toned that down a bit. Maybe. Or maybe not.

Anyway, when we got to the park, we took a little water break. I let Mags go first:

"This is so great, Mom!  What an awesome walk!"

Then Mom said it was about to get even better.

"Better?!?  Really?!?"
"Yeah, Mom!  How could it get better?!?" 

That's when it hit our noses! The K-State Rodeo was going on - and the park was teeming with horses!

Because we are very calm and quiet around horses (Mags and I were raised around horses, back in our homeland of Missouri), Mom and Dad let us go over to one of the buildings where the horses were resting to see if any of them would like to meet us. I waited by the side ...

"Hello?  Would any horse like to meet a sweet, gentle Siberian?"

... and sure enough, someone came over to meet me. Mom may have fallen in love with my new friend. Here he is:

That's right - he had a heart on his forehead. Is that adorable, or what? Anyway, he was very friendly. After a bit of sniffing, I said I'd try to swing by Sunday to see him again. (More on that tomorrow!)

There was another group of horses out getting some sun -

We sat and watched them for a few minutes:

"This has turned into SUCH an awesome adventure!"
"You can say that again!"

What an AWESOME walk to the park! We did get to go back the next day; we'll fill you in on that tomorrow!

Serene Scenery Sunday

Hello, everyone.  This week, for Serene Scenery Sunday, we are sharing some of the photos Mom took yesterday out at Tuttle Creek State Park.  Are you ready to go birding?

Let's start out big, with some Bald Eagles! Mom and her friend saw a mating pair - one on the nest:

There is a good chance he's sitting on some eggs in there!

... and one nearby, guarding and hunting:

"I think I'll bring home a little sushi for lunch ..."

Needless to say, Mom was beyond serene and into being thrilled; she loves seeing the Bald Eagles!

She also photographed a lot of tiny birds!  Let's take a look at what was in the woods!

"Did someone say, 'tiny birds'?"

That little Yellow-Rumped Warbler teased Mom for a bit, then struck a lovely pose:

This next bird is quite possibly one of the best camouflaged birds ever - the Brown Creeper!

Look just off center, to the left!

He was tiny, the color of tree bark, and a good 20 feet away!

This little birdie was playing peek-a-boo!

"Can't see me ... I'm behind a tree!"

He finally came out from his hiding place, where Mom could ID him as an American Goldfinch and to get a better shot of him!

"Yeah?  How YOU doin'?" 

Out playing in the thick brush by one of the beaver-made ponds, Mom saw these different sparrows:

New Towel? Or ...

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  A few weeks ago, our buddy Oz had a giveaway for a cool, new towel by Luv and Emma.  We were the lucky winners of a Dry Pets Plus super absorbent microfiber towel!  It just came in and we couldn't wait to show it to you!

"It feels nice and soft!"
"I know what we can use this for!"

I meant "in addition to toweling us off".  Check it out:

Anyway, it's a really cool towel AND cape!  It even has a stretchy hole on both ends, so you can loop it over a door knob to dry -- or just to keep it handy when you come inside!  Very cool - I know we'll get a lot of use out of this!

Wordless Wednesday

Mags and Cammie

Box!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  There are some crazy things going on here on the west side of town lately!  It all started the other day when we saw that one box out in the wild.  We told you about that one, remember?  Things got even wilder a day or so later!

We were walking up the hill by the big road...

"What a great day to be in Kansas, huh, Cam?"
"Beautiful!"

Then I saw it!  In the drain that runs into Little Kitten Creek!

"A BOX?!?!?"

It was a box, alright!  And it was trapped!

"I've got to get it out of there!"

Some ne'er-do-well had tossed out this poor, unsuspecting box and it ended up in the drainage pipe!  What kind of fate is that for a box?!?!

"Hang on, box!  I'm coming for you!"

I tried, but I couldn't get to it.  It could have been the steep bank, it could have been the mud in the drain, it could have been my leash and Dad saying, "No", but at any rate, I was unable to reach the box.

"Don't worry; I'll send help."

I made a metal note to call someone about it when we got home.  I wasn't sure who ... maybe a Boxer rescue group?

I was still lamenting the poor box, stuck in the drainage pipe and all, when we got up to the shopping area.  Cam, being the stellar sister that she is, took it upon herself right then to help me take my mind off of it.

"C'mere, you little crazed river otter!"
"Ummpphhffff!" 

She's the b-e-s-t!!!!

I'm still a bit worried about the box, though.

New Home Fashion Trend

Hello, everyone.  It's me, Cammie.  Yesterday, I helped Mom put clean sheets and the quilt on the bed.

Me.  Helping.

She dragged her feet a bit putting the white pillows back up top, and it looked like a golden opportunity to me.

Sure, I could have moved, but I was quite comfy.  And no, Mom didn't have the heart to ask me.  I've got her right where I want her.  I think this pillow placement could be a new home fashion trend - don't you?
