Weekend Recap and Monday Kick-Off

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  This being Kansas, and this being Winter, the weekend was a roller coaster of temperatures featuring icy sidewalks in the morning and afternoons over 70 degrees. How's a girl to know what coat to wear?!!?  Consequently, Cammie and I are "blowing coat" (shedding like there's no tomorrow) - which Mom really enjoys.  Anyway ... Saturday morning, we took a nice, long walk:

Cam, me, and Dad.  Dad's the tall one.

We walked past the Kansas Ocean and through a bunch of mud to get to that path.  Mom must have really enjoyed that mud, as she kept talking about it and went REALLY slow -- like she wanted to enjoy every slippery step!  It was great.  Definitely the highlight of the day.

Sunday morning, we took a short walk:

♫  "Oh, what a beautiful morning!  Oh, what a beautiful day!..."
"...I've got a wonderful feeling everything's going my way!..."  ♫

Don't blame us; Mom was forced to watch way too many musicals as a child.  Those were her captions on that photo, not ours.

Anyway, we kicked back for a while:

"Seriously, Mom.  You can stop singing any time now.  Any.  Time."
"Try to ignore her, Maggie.  Try."

... then in the afternoon, we headed out again!

"I guess there ARE some perks to the upward swing in temps!"
"You betcha, Mags!"

See all those piles of mud on our left in the photo above?  Do you think we were allowed to go check them out?  No.  Bum-mer.  It would have been awesome.

Further down our trail, Mom wanted to get a picture of us facing the camera.

"Oh, puh-lease..."
"Let's go, let's go, let's go!"

Clearly, we weren't in the mood.  Fortunately, Mom didn't push the issue.  Besides, she didn't have treats or anything.

"Much better!"
"You betcha!"

Those are the weekend highlights as far as I'm concerned.  And today?   Today started out GREAT!  Check out this scene from our morning walk!

"Gotcha, Mags!"
"Ha ROO!"

Usually I'm the one instigating play on our walks -- I LOVE it when Cam does!  She's in a really great mood today.  I just know we're in for a FUN Monday!

"A treat would make it even better, Mom."
"She's right, you know."

I hope your Monday is off to a great start, too!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

  2. It rained here but so far no mud puddles. Good thing your mom enjoys that Kansas Ocean and the falling furs! We are playing catch up since we have been working on the Heart 2 Heart Dance!

  9. What a difference a day makes in Kansas!!! Yesterday was Mom's kind of day - we got three walks - a record for us. Today was a bit cooler but not too bad for the Momster. We think we might like to climb on those mud piles, but wouldn't it be great if they were snow piles instead?
