When we got down to our corner, Mom made an important discovery:
Me and Maggie |
See out on the horizon? A rainbow! And at the base? US! That's right, Mom said we are the pot of gold at the end of her rainbow!
Oh. Right. No dilly-dallying. Let's get moving.
"Yeah, yeah. I know I'm shorter than you are, but I could do without the leprechaun jokes, Cam." "Ha roo woo roo! Come on, Maggie; no dilly-dallying!" |
She knows I was just kidding.
We did need to hurry, though. Look out this way:
Rain on the horizon! |
And look up!
Uh-oh! |
Mom still said we'd be OK, but between you and me, I've never seen her climb that last hill quite so fast. When we got to the top, we had a quick look around:
"Looks like we made it, Mags!" "You aren't going to break out in that Barry Manilow song, are you? I can't stand that guy!" "Whew. Great job, girls!" |
Not only did we beat the storm, but we never even got any rain from that cell. (Happily, we DID get a bunch of rain last night and this morning, which we really needed! Yay!) Mom was proud of us for not dilly-dallying -- just in case her radar-tracking skills had been off.
Oh. And sorry for any Barry Manilow ear worm I might have caused.
Cammie!
What a gorgeous rainbow but the pot of gold was my favorite...
ReplyDeleteNo dilly-dallying with clouds like that. When mom was walking Kasi last week she always took her cell phone in case she had to call Dad to come pick them up. Kasi has the 'ritis' in her back right leg and cannot hurry.
Hugs madi your bfff
we agree - you can't dilly dally when there are storms coming
ReplyDeletelove the rainbow....hope it isn't quite so hot over there....
ReplyDeleteYep, your mom found the pot of gold when she got you girls! Glad you got some rain so you can play in the mud today! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely rainbow. And of course, you two are the great treasure. PS: considering where you live, our mom would be very scared to go out in any kind of bad weather....

ReplyDeleteBeautiful rainbow and of course, the best pot of gold at the end!!! We got t-storms early morning, not much rain, just a lot of noise, and it disturbed all our slumber. So we got an early breakfast:)
