Maggie and me at Ao4 Headquarters |
As you can see, our porch planters are still going strong! The Electric Lime Coleuses (in the pot right behind our "God Bless America" flag and in the pot on the far right) have done really well, as has the Fishnet Stockings Coleus (the pot behind the limestone on the porch). Mom hopes to plant both types again next year.
Now let me show you around the back gardens a bit!
Everything in the Friendship Garden looks so good!
"This makes me so happy!" |
The different Sedum plants Mom put in the pots are all doing really well, as are the various ornamental grasses and the Sedums she started from cuttings. Here is one of the sedum plants Mom started from a cutting that a neighbor-friend gave her:

Isn't that PINK wonderful!?!? I love pink!
The BIG deal in our garden right now, as Maggie showed you on Sunday, is our Maximillian Sunflowers!
Me, striking a pose beside the Maximillian Sunflowers |
You can get a pretty good feel for how HUGE they are there. They are planted just below the wall I'm on. As Maggie said, they're probably about 8 feet tall!
Another shot of me and the Max Sunflowers |
Mom planted them where they have plenty of room to sprawl, but she is considering trimming them back next season, not just at the start of the season, but also right before the blooms start. If any of you or your peeps have any experience with Maximillian Sunflowers, please let us know! This is our first year with them!
One more shot of the Sunflowers:
"I feel so peaceful here..." |
Mom has seen people stopping to admire them, and that makes her really happy.
I'll leave you with another pop of pink:
The Crape Myrtles match my collar and leash; that makes me smile! |
