Fun With Solar Eclipse Glasses

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cam!  As Maggie mentioned yesterday, our neighbor Tao brought some Solar Eclipse Glasses over for Mom and Dad.  As Ao4 Headquarters was right at the 98.6% viewing point for the eclipse, Mom and Dad were able to go out onto the deck to view the event.  The clouds obscured a lot of it, but they were able to see enough to make it exciting -- plus, there was TV coverage.

Back to the glasses.  Mom just had to try to get us to wear them for a photo shoot.  We knew it was coming.  Let's cut to it - with quick captions!

Mags and I changed positions, then took another run at it.

Right.  Then I mustered up every bit of supermodel powers I possess and ...

"Here's the money shot, Mom!  Is Maggie ready?  I can't see anything!"

I'm not sure how Maggie ended up on my other side - again, I couldn't see anything - but this was the best we could do for Mom:

Given the challenge those glasses presented (lightweight, nothing to hold them in place), I'd say Mags and I did mighty well!

    Bolbolbol! You had us rolling on the floor and mom lol! It's a wonder the peeps could see anything out of the glasses. Gee, maybe they didn't and thought the darkness was the eclipse. Hmmmm

    No, Dad put us in closet so we would be safe. I think he got the eclipse mixed up with martins coming to earth. geeze............mags

    Wowza, we're super impressed with your modeling! Momma watched it at work, so she didn't have glasses to share with us for a photoshoot. Thank goodness!

    OMC! You two make us laugh! Our mommy was surprised at how dark it is in the glasses so that's what makes this even more funny! We had beautiful clear skies and total, uh, totality so Mommy watched the whole thing. She said it was amazing!

    Our mom just got back from Nashville to see the eclipse! She looked just as silly in those crazy glasses! We are just glad she is home, we need treats.

    You girls did great holding up those glasses on your faces! We never went outside to view the partial eclipse but we did watch lots of it on TV. It was awesome!

    Ha ha, you two are hilarious!!! We love the facial expressions the most. If those eyes could just speak:) Luckily Mom knew there was no way she could keep those glasses on us. Mom saw about the same, somewhere close to 99% and she was amazed. It was fun watching the sun duck in and out of the clouds, but she is so glad she didn't miss it.

    mol! fun out takes of you and Maggie, Cammie! now that it is over our mom is kinda bummed she didn't try harder to get glasses. But she COULD have gone to work and use some that were made available there. anyhoo we liked seeing the pictures from the viewing box and how the eclipse progressed.

    We stayed in the house while mom & dad sat in their lawn chairs and watched. we had clear skies and around 98% too!
