Tuesday Trail Trek

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  Today is another gorgeous Fall day in Kansas!  I took Dad on a walk early this morning, then the plan was for us to wait for him to get home from golf and we'd all go on a whole-family walk together.  Cam had other plans.

"Awesome plan, Cam!"
"We can still go on another one when Dad gets home!"

One of Cam's new superpowers is that Mom (and Dad) can't say "no" to her.  Not that they really did before ...

Anyway, Cam chose to go up the big road:

Up at the top of the hill, we posed real nice at the trailhead:

"Margaret Thatcher!"
"Whatever."
"Hello!"

More or less, anyway.  Besides, do you have any idea how tasty those smooshed fruits are?  And how hard it is to ignore them?

We went down the first part of the trail:

"OOOh, look at all that long, tasty grass!"
"Mags!  There's some tiny person up there on a chair!"

Mom was still muttering something about "someone", "snarfing", "grass" ... I have no idea.  I was too busy trying to snarf down some ... oh.  Right.  Moving right along.

We hit the next segment of the trail:

"Stay alert, Cam!  You never know what could be up here!"
"My radar ears are up!"

We didn't see any buns, squirrels, or many birdies today, but we did have some pups bark "hello!" to us and two women who jogged past called us "cute".

Here we are heading back down toward home:

"Is it 'toward home' or 'towards home'?  I'm never sure on that one."
"Po-tay-to, po-tah-to.  Whatevs."

And here we are on the home stretch:

We don't always walk in the middle of the road, but a lot of people have put down their Fall fertilizer and Mom thought it best for us to stay out of it.

What a great day this has been so far. I hope we get to go again this afternoon!  I hope all of you are having a wonderful morning, too!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

  4. Wow, what a grreat walk! How fun. I share Cam's superpower too -- just look Momma deep in the eyes, and she'll do anything I ask. Well, anything except stay home from work!

  6. Looks like you had as nice a day there as we have here. We are headed out now for walk #2. We walk in the road on our own street - Mom says that way we don't make our neighbors mad if we have to take care of business. Once we are off our street, there are no houses. Mom always picks up the business, but it is still nicer if we don't do it on our own street.

Lightning is the grass snarfer here.

  8. We have too many cars around to walk on the road. I might get hit by the bus or something!
