Getting Our Veggies

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie.  It's very important to eat right, as you all know - so Maggie and I are making a point to get enough vegetables.  Yesterday afternoon, we got to work!

I went for some eggplant ...

... and Mags felt like having an artichoke:

"How's that eggplant coming along, Cam?"

Like you, I was a bit concerned after we'd been chomping for a while.

"I wonder how Maggie's artichoke is holding up?"

Mom was watching us very carefully, as this is quite fresh produce.  After a good 15-20 minutes, this is how the artichoke looked:

"Good as new, everybody!"

These are some mighty tough veggies!

Don't Get The Wrong Idea!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  After reading the post Cam put up yesterday, I didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about what we do when we go out for some backyard fun time!  I dug up some pix from a brighter day, when Mom was able to get some better shots of what we really do other than pose!

When we get to the backyard, Mom shuts the gate behind us, we walk down the path all calm-like, luring her into this "Oh, look at how good the girls are being" thing, and then ...

"Let's go, Mags!"
"You're on!"

Oh, I know!  You probably thought I'd be the one to start the Crazed River Otter Games, right?  No.  Cam has totally been into CROG lately!  It's awesome!

"URMPH!"
"Gotcha!"

I was able to slip free and do a counter-attack!

"BOOM!"
"Urghhh!"

We both did some quick spin-moves, then ...

"How 'bout another round of CROG?"
"Do you even have to ask?!!?"

After that, we were good for some posing!

"Ah!  That was fun!"
"The best, Cam!"

Just didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea!

Backyard Posing

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  I had such a nice birthday yesterday - thank you so much for all the good wishes!  I hope you all were given extra treats!

One of the fun things I did was go out back with Maggie and Mom for some frolicking and posing!  Oddly enough, none of the action shots came out very good (we are SUPER fast!) but we did some nice poses, so I thought I'd share those with you!

Our first pose was at the south end of the yard, on the brick path.

"How's this, Mom?"
"Yeah.  How's this?  Anything to oblige."
"Perfect, girls!"

After a few shots, Mom said, "OK!" and we ran down the path to her:

"Here I come, Mom!"
"Wait for me!"
"Pup pup puppies!!!"

There may have been tiny treats involved.

Then we posed in the middle of the yard:

We moved over to the limestone retaining wall for a quick shot ...

"I'm thinking profound thoughts, Cam."
"I'm thinking about the treats in Mom's hand..."

... then as we were walking around a bit, a BUNNY THE SIZE OF A SMALL HORSE ran RIGHT in front of us!!! (We've mentioned him before!)

"Holy jackrabbits, Cam!  Look at the size of that thing!"
"BUNNY!!!!!"
"Run, bun!  Run!!!"

No photo of the intruder - Mom was a little late on the trigger there - but you can imagine it. Oh. And it might explain why we're either on-lead or trailing leads even in our fenced-in yard. Mom doesn't want us to hurt the bunnies or anything else that might think OUR yard is theirs. Whatever.

Mom asked us to pose on the pathway by the gate, but we came up with posing on the limestone.

"That bun isn't still there, is he?"
"No.  He's hiding in Tao's honeysuckle.  Mom still has treats."
"Mags?"

"Oh.  Right.  How's this?"
"Money shot, Mom!"

We had a lot of fun out there!  And even if we couldn't chase him, it was exciting seeing the bunny!

It's Our Birthday!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Guess who turns 10 today?!?  YES -- my sisters Drew, Lucy, and me!!!  It's our birthday!

So far, I've had a very fun day!  Mom sang the birthday song to me while Maggie and I had breakfast, then after our tummies settled, we went on a very fun all-family walk!

"Isn't this nice?!?"
"Yes!  I love our family walks!"

Mom asked me to pose by some pine trees -- here's the best of those:

As you can see, I was the very essence of a calm 10-year-old. Until ...

"Let's play, Mags!!!"

"YEAH!  Crazed River Otters, Cam!"
"Ha woooo!"

"You've got some crazy-fast moves, Cam!"
"Can't get me!!!"

"Wow, that was fun!"

Mom apologizes for the pix of Crazed River Otter Games being all blurry, but it was sort of a dark morning and we were SUPER fast!

"Happy birthday, Cam!"
"Thanks, Maggie!  This is the best 10th birthday I've ever had!"

When we got home, we got to splash in some warm water (something about cleaning any residual road chemicals off our paws ... I just know it felt really nice on my feety-feet!) then broke open a brand new bag of treats!  What a great day so far!  I hope my sisters are having a good celebration, too!

It's Been A While!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  It's been a while - quite a while - but guess what I got last week?  Let's just dive right in, shall we?

"Gee-ronimo!!!!!!"

Ha.  Get it? "Dive right in" - and I did?

"I don't have to ... umm ..."
"No, of course not, Cam."
"If Cam's not coming in, I'm outta here!" 

SPROINGGGG!

"Yeah, just kidding.  I'll be right here if anyone would like to come box with me!"
"I'll be here, too.  Not in the box, mind you, but hanging out in case there are treats involved."

Well, really.  The treat is the box!  And it's been a while!

Dental Toys

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Maggie and I got to play with our KONG Dental Toys the other day -- they are in that "under supervision only" category.  Maggie got the ball:

"I love chewing on this thing!"

You can see Mom stuck gigantic treats in there!

Maggie always gets the ball-shaped one because it's sturdier.

"Wait, Mom.  Here's another chunk."

"I don't always get to play with this toy, but when I do,
I remember to spit the pieces out."

"Sturdier" being a relative term.

"She's a highly skilled professional, you know!"

Packing It Up!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  As Cam mentioned the other day, we've been ever so helpful as Mom packs up the Christmas decor and puts it away.  I mean super helpful!  There was a lot of going up and down the stairs - and we were right there with Mom, every step of the way!

"C'mon, Mom!  Up and down!  Down and up!  Let's go!!!"
"Be careful, Mom!  Don't try to carry too much at once!"

Yeah.  There was a lot to carry - Cam was right.  Mom was taking all the storage boxes down to the main floor, so she could fill them up and carry them back up to the closets.  At one point, I thought we should take a break.

"Seriously, Mom.  Let's catch our breath.  Breaths?  Whatever."

You should only work your bipeds so hard - you know?  A couple of minutes, and I thought she was ready to grab a few boxes and get back to it!

"Oooh, yeah!  Why make more trips than you have to?!?  Way to load up, Mom!"
"Don't say 'trip', Maggie!  I'm right here for you, Mom!"
"Umm.... girls?  Can you sorta ... umm ...  Girls?"

Hey.  Her hands couldn't have been too full, or she wouldn't have been able to hold the iPhone.  Am I right here?  Of course I am.

And don't worry about Cam and me!  All work and no play won't cut it with us!  We took one or two breaks ourselves:

"BOOM!"
"BOOM!"

Before we knew it, all the containers were downstairs, ready to be loaded up.  I supervised.

Mom and I were right in the thick of things, when Cam said she needed to use the yard.

"Me?  No, I'm OK.  I'll stay here and keep an eye on things.  You two go on out.  Take your time."

I must say, Cam can be mighty quick about doing her business when she wants to be.  I didn't have much time at all to ...

"Maggie?  Everything OK in here?  Was Sock Monkey sitting up like that when I left?"
"OK?  Of course everything is OK.  'Is everything OK?'  C'mon, Mom."

I really don't know how she could even ask such a thing.  

"Sock Monkey feels a little wet around the hat area, Maggie.  Know anything about that?"
"Umm... here.  Let me clean that up for you."

Well, OK, fine.  I'm among friends here - right?  I'll come clean.

PREVIOUSLY, at Ao4 Headquarters ... right about when I thought Mom had her back turned ...

"You're MINE, Sock Monkey!"
"Help!"

What can I say?

Cam and Mags

He Had It Coming

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Yesterday, Maggie and I started helping Mom put all of the Christmas things away.  Up and down and up and down the stairs!  All three of us - together!  I think we must have been super helpful, because Mom decided we were done pretty quickly.  (Maggie will fill you in on that later this week.)  Anyway, she thought we deserved some "under supervision only" toy time for our efforts!

I played with Sneaky Snake II while Maggie worked on 2.5-Rings (formerly known as 3-Rings):

"You'll be 2-Rings before much longer!"

Sneaky and I were playing really nice ... when all of a sudden he SQUEAKED at me! I mean a REALLY LOUD squeak! I do not like squeaks. I can't believe he did that - he's never done it before.  I gave him a chance to settle down -- but then he did it again!  I did what I had to do to put an end to that squeaking.

"Are you sure, Cam?  I can de-squeak Sneaky II in no time!"
"Thanks, Maggie.  Yes.  I'll work on 2.5-Rings for you in the meantime."

That's right - I gave him to Maggie, to perform an emergency Squeak-ectomy!

"Lemme see ... just a little work right here ..."
"This thing won't squeak, will it?"

Mags assured me that 2.5-Rings rarely squeaks!

"Awesome!  Let's play, 2.5!"

It was great!  I played with that, while Mags went to town on Sneaky Snake II.

"What?  He's fine.  He's in the hands of a highly skilled professional!"

Less than two minutes later ...

"He's got two more in here, Cam!  Won't take but another minute."

Look at the size of that squeaker!!!  I TOLD you he was loud.

Was.

"Hey.  He had it coming!"

Maggie does such excellent work!  And quickly, too!
