There's a cul-de-sac we generally don't go down, but I sent Mom a mind-meld message that I really wanted to go down there. Big time!
Oh, yeah, check out how cool my shadow looks in the picture above!
Anyway, here's why I wanted to go down there:
Ha roo?
Up there on the flat limestone, at about 10 o'clock, can you see her?!? I told Mom to zoom in - here's a better look:
Wowzers! I hadn't met that kit-cat yet! She let me get a bit closer, then I could see that she wasn't sure about me. I started sending all those calming signals I send out to other animals so they don't feel intimidated by me. Here I am, turning my head and not looking at her:
She started warming up to me, and I walked over even closer. Here is a lovely portrait of her:
I complimented her on her camouflage with the Kansas landscape and she seemed to appreciate that. She did some cute poses up on her limestone ledge - she's a natural model! When we got a little closer, I could see that she had a little bell hanging from her collar:
At that point, I decided I'd call her "Belle" - because she is so very pretty! Don't you man-cats out there agree? We spent some time just being quiet together - it was really special.
Mom gave us a while, then said we needed to head home.
I told her I'd look for her every time we pass by that cul-de-sac now.
Can you see her up there in that picture? Go at about 1 o'clock from my head. Mom, Dave and I started to head home.
Uh... see ya, cat.
Dave doesn't really commune with kit-cats like I do! Anyway, I turned around to see this:
I told her it would be OK with me, and Stormy would love having a kit-cat pal, but that Amber and Dave... well, they might play too rough with her.
She decided to stay there, then go home to her own place. I kept looking back for her, hoping to see her again.
Belle?!?! Meet me here tomorrow, OK?
It was so cool meeting her. I'm going to ask Mom to walk me down there later today so I can see her again.
How do you lure them all in like that, Zim?
Mom says I have this amazing "animal magnetism" thing; all animals are drawn to me. I just know I like making new friends!
Hope you liked coming along with us on Photo Finish Friday!
Play bows,
Zim
Woof! Woof! Great way to end the week with some of your FUN FUN walk photos. Nice to meet your kitty friend. Have a great weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to meet 'Belle' we agree she is very pretty. Just wait until Marvin sees her!
ReplyDeleteYour walk looked lovely today with clear blue skies and sunshine. We think Spring might be about to make an appearance in Scotland too.
Have a great weekend.
love and kisses

Zim, you are a very special dog. Our Merci used to be the same way when she was the only dog. Then along came hyper/noisy Buddy and then the leaping/barking giant Sam. But before that, Merci used to attract cats. Every once in a while one would follow her. She rescued Percy when he was tiny. And Cameron moved himself in on his own because he and Merci were best friends. What can we say? Some dogs are just cat magnets!
ReplyDeleteGreat walkie Zim and Dave. Very impressive Zim about your animal magnetism.
ReplyDeleteWhen we see a cat, were more likely to disslocate Dads elbows trying to chase it than to make friends.
Good job not communing Dave. We are with you.
Remy and Flash
Woo, Belle is a furry lovely khat, Zim. Hmm, I don't think I have much animal magnetism, but mom says I'm a real kid-magnet! Maybe it's like your talent, but fur kids?
ReplyDeleteJack a-roo
Thanks Zim! Your a cool cat!
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed taking a walk with you. It was amazing to see you be the cat whisperer. You do have a way with the kitties. I personally couldnt trust myself around a cutie like Belle. Best I just stay away.
Keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing her again.
Paws and poofs,
Ozzie
Zim, we think that is a great talent, but we are kinda with Dave on the whole friends with cats thing.

Hey Zim and gang,
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a gift that you've got for meeting new friends. Dad says he knows what it's like to have that animal magnetism. Evidently all Navy jet pilots, like in TOPGUN, have it just like you do. Belle is probaly a good bird hunter so she has her bell to make it just a bit more challenging.

Wow, great photo essay! Almost felt like we were along on the walk! Only you guys are good with cats...my Sibe kids would take off like in the Iditarod after that kit-cat! We're working on forging a friendship with the cat, "Smokie," who adopted my daughter. Not all five have adjusted perfectly yet, but you guys are great! (and very beautiful!) Thanks for the great Friday walk!
