Movie Night Tutorial

Woo, everypup and almosteverycat.  It's me, Dave, here with a photo tutorial of how to help your biped with Movie Night.  There's lots of ground to cover, so let's get going.

First, you have to keep an eye on him or her.

"Hi.  Whatcha doing?  Watching a movie?"

If there is a sad, scary or suspenseful part of the movie, your biped might appreciate a soothing touch.

"I'm here for you, Mom!"

Giving you chin scratchies would help add to the movie experience.  You might have to reposition yourself for that.

"Ohhh.... yeah.  Right there!"

Check the TV from time to time, to see if there's a good time for a break.

"Is that a little pause in the action?"

When you find a good stopping point, send a mind-meld message, as strongly as you can!

"It's time to hit the kitchen for a snack!"

I hope this has been helpful. I don't know how my mom would get through Movie Night without me!

Luv,
Dave

  3. Uh, Dave, maybe this is just a personal problem for me, but when I position myself near my Mom for movie night, it only takes me about 5 minutes to fall sound asleep. How do you avoid this?

  4. Monty has also mastered the "Bark right in the most suspenseful part of the movie so that your human's shriek like girls, including your dad" part. It's why we now only watch chick flicks and reruns of Northern Exposure. Sigh...

  5. Dave, you are just the sweetest Momma's boy ever! I enjoyed your tutorial and will use your tips on my mommy but do you have any suggestions on how to get my kitty sisfurs from hogging my mommy during movie night?

  6. I don't really like being very close to my hoomies. It gets too hot! But I will give that a try some day.

  7. Thanks for the great advice. We are watching 101 Dalmations. I don't like the scarey lady with the black and white hair though, she frightens me. Enjoy your weekend :)xx

  8. That was great. I tend to add some pathetic howling in case the DOH doesn't get the message.

Hey! We watched True Grit last night. It was really good, but after momma kept asking what happened to the original Glenn Campbell theme song.

    Huh?

  11. OH, Dave! Woo did a good job! But one thing woo missed. I find it helpful to walk in front of the TV, just enough so my fluffy tail blocks the screen. This helps for the real scary parts of the movie...or the commercials!

  12. Fabulous advice! Argos usually just falls asleep on my lap. I try to view it as "intervention" to prevent me from getting up for snacks!

  13. We actually wait until the Most Exciting Part and then get up and stand at the door (thus indicating that it is time to take us outside). Oh, and we try to mooch popcorn whenever possible. But we have much to learn from you - we're going to practice the illustrated techniques! ;-)

  16. As always, dearest Dave, succinct and to the point. Especially the trainer point LOL!

Thank you for all the tips.

Sorry I have been absent, the Jeannie household is a bit disorganised at the moment with lots of travel etc and my Grandma being so sick.

  17. Dave - We are particularly impressed with how you accomplish all of those tasks with such a minimum of movement. You are the master of energy conservation.
