As you could tell, I went to the Kansas Ocean.
Me. Cammie! |
Here's what I was looking at:
Blue Winged Teal Ducks |
Yes, Blue Winged Teals. Probably the same ones Zimmie saw earlier in the week. I promised him that if I saw them I wouldn't scare them off by thinking prey-like thoughts (who, me?). I stayed nice and zen-like so Mom could take some photos.
Here is a shot of Mrs. and Mr. Blue Winged Teal:
Here is another couple, hanging out on a log sticking out of the ocean:
That must be a friend of theirs in the lower right, stopping by for some algae.
Here are a couple boy ducks:
I like their white masks, but I also like how the girl teals have sort of a subtle Zorro mask going on. Check out the girls in this shot:
See what I mean? I like it. No need to be ostentatious about it. Very nice.
What else?
Oh, I know! Want to see some of them fly?
No, I had NOTHING to do with that. A car went over the Trans-Oceanic Bridge and it spooked them.
Besides, I promised Zim.
See? They're OK.
Sometimes it's so hard to keep a promise!
I hope you enjoyed coming to the Kansas Ocean with me. I got to go to Tuttle Creek State Park over the weekend for my special one-on-one time - I can't WAIT to show you what I saw there!
Cammie!

Hi Cammie, Loved visiting the ocean with you; those new friends are simply beautiful! We had snow here all yesterday and it is still on the ground-wonder if you are getting some too?
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

We don't even need to say that we would never behave that well. It would ruin our reputation.
ReplyDeleteOh, and pass along a message to the Prime Minister for us. Yesterday, she said on our blog that your mom made her spit out an "an acorn shell yuck maggie".
Your mom probably doesn't remember, but a few years ago, Natasha got to spend a night in the hospital because she got all stopped up. Turned out she had an acorn lodged in a most unpleasant spot. With a little, er, assistance, that acorn finally passed through.
But, as you can imagine, the hu-dad is quite concerned about the thousands and thousands of acorns on the ground during our walks now.
We agree Zim would be very proud of you. You are number two zen master we say. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We really like how well behaved you were..

Zim must e very happy with you, Cammie. Very nice duck photos too. We wonder if those ducks have anything to do with the duck kibble we get to taste sometimes:)

Very serene! We couldn't have been that serene. We like to bark hello to our friends in the wild, but apparently some of them think we make too much noise... Go figure!
