Ready For Our Closeups!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  As Maggie mentioned the other day, we headed down to Quivira National Wildlife Refuge Monday to do some birding.  It was a day full of surprises, incredible opportunities, and even some highly cooperative birdies!  Some were extremely cooperative -- like Super Model cooperative, ready for closeups and everything!

So let's start with Mom's very favorite duck in all of duckdom ... the most handsome, the most charismatic, the one with the best schnozzola out there ... THE Northern Shoveler!

"Wow, what an intro!  Hello, everyone!  ... especially you ladies out there."
"Oh, my.  He's just so handsome ..."

"Hey, check out my lady-duck's shovel!  Is that the BEST?!?"
"You mean my dainty, little bill?"

"What a wo-duck!"
"SQUEE!"

"Oooooh, he makes my heart go pitty-pat!"

I think Mom was about to pass out from the cuteness right about then.  She tried for a couple more shots first.

"Would you like another shot of my man-duck, Camera Lady?"
"Oh... oh, yes, please, you little shovel-billed beauty!"

"Here he is!"
"Just this shot, then we'd like a little privacy..."
"I ❤ the Northern Shoveler!!!  Especially you two!"

Needless to say, Mom was on Cloud Nine.  We'll share more birdie pix from our trip soon!
