If it is really cold there like it is here, you could say your brain froze and you couldn't think and that is why you forgot. Lady said, her excuse is everyday is the same, like ground hog day, and she refers to anything that isn't today but wasn't too long ago as happening on 'blurrs-day'. she says you can also use this as an excuse.
