Serene Scenery Sunday

Ha roo, pups and kittens. It's me, Zim, here to bring you the rest of the photos Mom took when she and I went to the Top of the World the other day. We hope they will help you find that inner tranquility. (You can click any of today's photos to see larger versions in our FlickR album!)

Here's a shot on our way there:

on the way there

Note to Mom: how about cleaning the windshield?

Here's a look to the north, once we got up there:

Top of the World, facing north

The OP Pack's mom thinks the clouds look a lot like a pup asking for tummy rubs. Ha roo roo roo, I think she's right!!!

Here's another look toward the north:

Top of the World, N

Here's a shot toward the northeast:

Top of the World, facing NE

That shot does a lot to make me feel serene!

How about a look at some of the wildflowers that we saw and sniffed? (Mom did the looking, I did the sniffing.)

wild flowers...

Mom thought they were very sweet. I thought they were very fragrant. And tasty!

Let's check on those clouds to the north again:

Top of the World, N again

And one more look before we head home:

One more look, Top of the World, north-ish

It was a beautiful day to be up there, pups and kit-cats. Thanks for letting me show you around a little. Oh... and one more shot, as we headed home - once again taken through the dirty windshield...:

Heading home from Top of the World

I hope these helped bring a little peace and tranquility into your day.

Before I sign off, we have some very sad news to share with you, if you haven't heard. We got the news last night that our dear friend Rocky the RockStar has passed away. If you have a moment, please stop by his blog and offer some kind words for his dad and for Mati. We're sure they could use a lot of support right now. Thank you.

Zim

Cloud Chasers!

Ha roo, pups and kit-cats! It's me - Zim! Yesterday afternoon, we had some really cool clouds move into our area and Mom kept trying to get good photos of them. She really wasn't getting what she wanted, so I sent her a mind-meld message that we should go for a ride. It worked!

We headed up to the Top of the World, thinking we'd get a great view of everything from up there. It was amazing! Want to walk down this lane with me? Let's go!

The northern sky was incredible! Take a look:

Wowzers!

It was really cool! We walked all the way to the end of the lane, then looked around.

We could see forever up there! Mom had a good look around and took some pix with her iPhone (she forgot the camera!), I did some major-league sniffies, then we headed back to the car.

The sky in that direction wasn't nearly as exciting. Here's a look anyway, just for contrast.

We'll put some more pix up tomorrow for Serene Scenery Sunday!

Thanks for chasing clouds with us!

Zim

Photo Finish Friday

Ha roo, pups and cool-cats! It's me, Zim! I'm here with my fellow redhead, Ammy, ready to bring you Photo Finish Friday. This is a collection of some of our favorite pix from a little spontaneous play session we had in the front yard a bit ago. We're actually wearing the wrong leashes - so don't get confused! Ammy has my blue leash on and I'm wearing Stormy's red one. We promise we won't make a habit of this!

OK - let's play! In this one, I'm starting to grab Am's neck:

We don't play neck grabbies quite the way Dave and I do - it's more like a poke and nibble when I play with Ammy.

Here I am, starting to do the sea otter thing:

La la la la la...

Then Ammy roped me!

Zimmie, you look like a candy cane! Hee hee hee!

Ha roo roo roo! We had such fun! I started the sea otter thing again...

... note the crossed paws. Very tricky maneuver! Years of training for that one! Then we both decided to pretend we were sea otters and rolled around pretending our lawn was the ocean. This is one of Mom's all-time favorite pix:

Me and Ammy - Sea Otters!
La la la la la...
La la la la la la la la!

Play bows and love,
Zim and Ams

Thank You Thursday!

Hi everypuppy and everykittycat, it's me, Amber! Whew, yes, I did make it through Wordless Wednesday without saying anything, didn't I? It wasn't easy, but I knew I'd have a chance to tell you all about lots of nice things today, so that helped! We have lots of thanks to say and Stormy said I could be the one to say it and oh, that makes me so happy!

First up, we got this very adorable award from our lovely friend Stella!

Isn't it very sweet!?! I just love all the hearts and Davy said it's very colorful and Stormy said it's RED and red is her color and Zim said it's a bug and so... well, so we all just love it! Thank you, Stella!

Remember a while back when we got a very nice package from the Dughallmor Beagles? I showed you one of the toys they sent - well, Stormy showed you me playing with it and then how it somehow spontaneously exploded. (Hee hee hee!) I mentioned they sent another toy and what I didn't mention then but will tell you now is that Davy got to play with this one. He and I don't usually get squishy toys, but he recently had a lot of dental work done and just now he is allowed to do squishy toys and then maybe next week he can have Kongs and Zimmie's neck to play with. Mom gave the toy to Davy down in the Studio, so she could keep an eye on him. Here he is:

Dave and the Squishy Duck ("Help me, help me!")

When I came in, he pretended he wasn't playing with anything at all. So then I said, "Daaaaaavy? Do you have a Squishy Duck toy??!!??" And this is what he did:

"Duck? What duck?"

Hrumph. It's not like it would explode if I just played with it a llllllllllliiiiiiittle, right? Hrumph. Thank you again, Gabbi, Rosie, Alf and Snoop!!!

We also recently received a package from our very favorite Siberian in all of Hawaii! That's right, the very beautiful Mochi! Well, actually, the package was from her mom to our mom, but we knew there was something in there for us, too!

Here I am, inspecting the package!

"It's from Mochi! And there's something in here for us!!!"

Look at what I found in there!!!

"It's all-natural chicken jerky, made in Hawaii!"

Oh, my goodness! I asked Mom if we could have some and she said, "Yes!" and so each of us, Stormy and Zimmie and Davy and I, got to have a little taste and oh, it's sooooooo yummy! It's crunchy and chewy all at the same time and we all - and I do mean ALL - just love it! Thank you, Mochi!!!

There was something else in the package, too, and Zim thought it might be for him. Here he is:

"Do I smell coffee?"

It's coffee-glazed Macadamia nuts and Mom said "people only", sadly enough. Sorry, Zimmie!

Did you happen to catch Guinness and Shiloh's blog the other day!?! Did you see who was there? Zimmie! Guinness and Shiloh's daddy took some really incredible pictures of Zimmie from when he got to meet their mom and dad. They brought some really special presents for us (and for Mom!) and we wanted to say a big THANK YOU to them!

Their mom made a very, very beautiful quilt for our mom (Dave thinks it's for him, but Mom said it's not, but she hung it in the Studio where they can both enjoy seeing it!). Mom wants to get a good picture of it outside, where the colors will show better; we'll post that later! They also gave us these YUMMY treats:

Bananas AND chicken! Two of our very favorite things! I don't think I have the words to tell you how delicious they are! And if that's not enough, they gave each one of us - each one of us! - a really, really big Wubba! There's a red one for Storm and a blue one for Zimmie and a purple one for Davy and also a green one for me!!!

Mom let Stormy see them first and look at which toy she chose:

And Davy said, "Hey, Stormy, that's the blue one and I think that's for Zim!" and do you know what Stormy said?

Umm... well, I better not tell you exaaaaactly what she said, but we all like to share toys and Zim said he'd be honored if Stormy would break the blue one in but could he please have it before The Jaws of Steel has it (I'm not quite sure what he means by that!). But anyway, we all REALLY love the Wubbas and the quilt and the treats! Thank you so much, dear friends! We wish we ALL could have met all of YOU!

I think that's all for today! Thank you again to everypuppy and everybiped!

Love,
Ammy

Milestone!

Ha roo, pups and kit-cats!  Tail wags to all!  It's me, Stormy!  We've reached an important milestone here at the Army of Four Digest.  Any guesses?  I'll let you look at these pictures of us while you mull it over.  Mom took them a week or two ago, and we've been saving them.

Any guesses?  We've got 1,000 posts under our collars!  Ha rooooo!  This calls for a celebration!  Salmon for everyone!

We're Creative!

Tail wags, readers!  It's me, Storm!  We feel so honored!  We received an award from our new friend Kiko!  (If you haven't visited Kiko's World yet, please click here!)  Thank you so much, Kiko!

The rules for the award are to post it to the blog (check), link to the blogger who gave it to you (check), then list 7 things and 7 bloggers you love.

There are 4 of us, so we could come up with a really long list of things we love.  I'm going to let my pack-mates list two each:

Ammy:   1.  I love it when everyone is happy.  That makes me happy!
2.  Can I count Brice?  Oh, just things.  OK.  I love predicting the weather.  No offense to any of the biped meteorologists out there, but Mom puts more faith in my predictions than yours.

Zim: 3.  I love new adventures!
4.  I love taking cat naps.  I use them to balance out the energy I expel during my cool adventures.

Dave: 5.  I love my mom.  Oh.  No people either?  Hmm.  I love hanging out with my mom.  Woo!
6.  I love just being invited to the party.

Good job, pups!  One left - and I'll take it myself.  Let me think...

Me, thinking.

Well, OK, I've got it.  Do you know what I love?  Lots of things.... but...

7.  I do not love storms with a small "s"!!!  Note the skies last night:

7 June 2009 storm (small "s") rolling in

Mom seems to think they're beautiful.  Where does she get these bizarre ideas?!?!?  Here's a panoramic shot she put together:

You can click that for a larger view, if you're into that sort of thing.  Knowing how much my mom enjoys a good storm (and a good Storm - ha roo roo roo!), I kept her up all night long so she could enjoy both.

But I digress.  Thanks again for the cool award, Kiko!  You're as sweet as you are handsome!  We'd like to pass this along to the following bloggers:

3.  Suzuki (and Bark Kent!) and Tahlia, Scooby Doo, and Brandon

We love ALL of our friends' blogs, but wanted to actually follow the rules (for a change!) and pick seven.  Thanks again for the award, Kiko!

Tail wags,
Storms

Serene Scenery Sunday

Woo, everypup and everycat.  It's me - Dave - here with some serene photos for you to enjoy.  Siberian-ly speaking, the photo seen back at this link was mighty serene for me, but anyway... here are some pix for you to get mellow with.

How about we start with a shot of one of our Day Lilies?

DSCF1126

Very nice, isn't it?  When Mom was removing the Winter growth from those, one of the dry stems attacked her and stuck her in the eye, so I escorted her when she took that photo.

Dave and the Day Lilies
One false move, and I'm all over you guys!

I think it made Mom serene to have me there for security!  Woo!

Up on one of our rock retaining walls, we have a row of Gold Flame Spirea.  Here's a look at them:

Gold Flame Spirea

I know they aren't gold now, but the leaves will be later on.

We've shown you some members of the Gallery who have watched Dad golf Colbert Hills Golf Course before.  (Click here and here!)  This time, he had some interesting fans following him at the Manhattan Country Club.  Check out this familiar guy!

IMG_0156
It's Oswald!

What's he doing at the Country Club?  Amazing.  Check him out in this next shot.  It's like he's been studying at the Stormy Zoluschka Kryschtal School of Siberian Studies.  He's making a face at Dad!

IMG_0158
You can click this and any of the pix on this post to see a larger photo on our FlickR page.

Stormy thought that was really funny.

And lastly, here are two pictures of another fan who was watching Dad.

IMG_0147

A doe!  When Ammy saw these, she thought Dad must have been playing at another one of the courses he frequents - Stagg Hill.  Ha woo.  That Ammy!  Here's another look at her:

IMG_0148

The doe made Dad feel very serene.  It made Mom serene to see Oswald chowing down somewhere other than in our garden.  Woo!

Have a peaceful Sunday!
Luv,
Dave

Ice Maker Problems

Hi everypuppy and everycat.  It's me, Amber.  Before I get started, I would like to say a big "thank you" to our most favorite Beagles in all of Japan, Jazz and Dixie, for presenting us with this award:

Thank you so much, girls!  We received this a little bit ago and feel very honored to have it presented to us by you, too!

Thank you so much!  Isn't it adorable!?

Now that I've covered happy things, I have to tell you about a little problem I was having earlier this week.  Our ice maker was running really slow.  I'm not sure what the hold-up was, but I was very concerned.  I LOVE ice and really enjoy having 3 cubes or so every afternoon.  But when I went to use it... it was really slow!  I was afraid it might be broken or something!

Here I am, with the ice maker.

Me and the Ice Maker (and the Magic Cold Box)

I must have stood there forEVER, trying to get ice!  Just when I thought it was broken and I'd wouldn't be able to have ice, it finally delivered.

Thanks, Mom!

Whew, close call!  I had to give Mom the Sad Eyes Look for a REALLY long time before she delivered.  Do any of you have that problem?

Love,
Ammy

Photo Finish Friday

Woo, everypup and everycat.  It's Dave again.  I got special permission from Storms to do our Photo Finish Friday post.  Thanks, Storm!

As Ammy mentioned the other day, I had to go to KSU for a re-check with my vet on Monday.  Mom snapped this picture of us together, and I thought it spoke volumes about how they treat us patients at the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Me and Dr. Jennifer Akers; I love my vet!

That's right!  An appointment chock-full of hugs and snuggling and this special "thump thump thump" thing she does on my chest that makes me just melt into the floor!

I hope this is the kind of treatment all of you get from your vets!

Luv,
Dave

The Boys

Woo, everypup and everycat.  Dave here, with my kid brother, Zim.  Our day started something like this (after breakfast and a walk, of course):

"What do you want to do today, Zim?"
"I dunno, Dave.  What do you want to do?"
"I dunno.  We're supposed to let the girls blog more this week, so I guess we won't be putting a post up or anything."
"Yeah... we sorta snuck onto yesterday's post, though."
"That was my paw, you know."
"Yeah.  Ammy's still giggling over the Dughallmor Beagles' comment about being 'pawsitive' it's you.  Ha roo roo roo!"

Then Mom came in and said Stormy said we could do today's post.

"Really, Mom?"
"Yeah, really?  This isn't just a ruse you cooked up to get us off the bed so you can finish making it, is it?"

"You had to ask her that, didn't you, Zim?"
"Hey, I was on to her game!  Besides, you can make a post out of this for us later."
"Yeah, if Storm says it's OK.  Hey, do you think we should get off the bed so Mom can make it?"
"I don't see that happening any time soon, Dave."
"Me, either.  So... what do you want to do today, Zim?"
"I dunno... what do you want to do?"
"I dunno..."

I hope you all find something fun to do today!

Luv,
Dave

Wordless Wednesday. Or Not.

Tail wags, love, play bows, and luv,
Storms, Ammy, Zim and Dave

PS:  "Yeah, and we aren't telling whose paw that is!"
"No, we'll never tell!  That's Mom's paw on the bottom, though.  Hee hee hee!
"Ha roo roo roo; chase me, you guys!"
"Hey, you Sibes!  And Dave.  This is Wordless Wednesday!  Word-less."
"Ooops.  Sorry, Stormy."
"Ha woo... it's not wordless any more!"
"Hee hee hee, Davy's funny!"
"Ha roo roo roo, chase me, you guys, chase me!"
"Wooooo!"
"Ha roo roo roo!"
"Hee hee hee!"

PS again:  Dear readers, do you see what I have to put up with around here?  -Storms

TV Time

Tail wags, pups and kit-cats.  Stormy here.  Before I get started, a quick update on Sinatra.  Dave and Mom asked about her when he went in for his appointment yesterday.  She's doing well, starting to act very Siberian (ha roo roo roo!), and Sinatra's surgery is scheduled for this afternoon!  Please say a prayer for her and her care-givers!  Because she is in quarantine for Parvo, there has been only one person (her student) allowed access to her, and he treats only Sinatra.  We were hoping Mom could slip in and visit with her and take some pictures, but it just isn't safe to do so yet.  Perhaps later this week!

As many of you know, since Mom doesn't let us sit on the furniture, we insist that she sits on the floor with us.  Well, mostly with Dave - but the rest of us like to get in on the act sometimes, too.  Take the other night, for instance.  Mom and Dad were watching "COPS" on TV.  It seemed like a pretty good episode, so I thought I should enhance Mom's viewing experience.

Hey, whatcha watching?  COPS?  That's a cool show.  Any K9s on tonight?

Mom said something about not being able to see the screen, so I moved.

Not much, but I moved.  I thought it was mighty nice of me, don't you?

I'm a Siberian... and I'm here to help.

Tail wags,
Storms

Sky Shots and the Tail of a Storm

Hi everypuppy and everycat!  It's me - Amber!  Before I get to today's post, have you heard about the little red Sibe puppy Sinatra?  She was picked up as a stray, had been hit by a car, and suffered multiple fractures.  She also came up Parvo positive.  :(  Some WONDERFUL rescue people have taken over her care, lined up a home for her, and are getting her the vet care she needs.  In fact, they brought her up here to our vets at KSU!  They're very hopeful about her surgery and treatment, but could really use some help with funding.  For more info, please go to Sinatra's blog.   I know they'd be grateful for any help you can give.  Dave has an appointment at KSU today, so he and Mom are going to get an update about her; we'll keep you posted!

As many of you know, I am the Chief Meteorologist here at Ao4 HQs.  As such, I always study the sky, among other things - watching for any changes in the weather.  I thought I'd share with you a couple pictures I've taken  lately!

Here's a pretty sunset from the 25th:

Isn't it lovely?  And here's a shot of some real puffy clouds that rolled in out front two nights later:

We got a little bit of rain out of that, but not much; nothing exciting enough to photograph.  A few days later, I did get a good shot of the tail end of a storm for you, though!  Check it out:

Tail end of a storm.  I mean "Storm".

Hee hee hee!  Oh, I meant "Storm" with a capital "S".  Hee hee hee!

"Tail end of a..." ... Hee hee hee!

I've got to make sure Zimmie hears this one.  He'll love it.

Have a great day, everyone!
Love,
Ammy
