Walk And A Question

Hi everybody. It's me, Ragnar. This morning, we left super early on our walk. It was still dark and Mom couldn't get any clear photos. When we got up into the hills, the sun had come up -- take a look at how pretty it was!

It was nice and cool, so we took a good, long walk. Actually, we did that all Summer long, but it was a lot more pleasant today! When we started our downhill descent, Maggie started looking at me in a certain way ... so ... 

🎵"Oh, Ragnar!!!"🎵
"Maggie ... are you going to BOOM me?"

She said she was going to, but since Mom and Dad were onto her, she decided not to. Besides, there was a car coming and we have a big SAFETY FIRST focus around here. Whew.  

Instead of going the most direct route home, we headed back up the big street -- here's another look at the sunrise:

Evening Shift

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  Yesterday evening, after dinner, we took Mom out on the deck for a little fresh air.  She had a treat with her, so we got right to work giving her what she wanted:

"Hey, Mom.  Got treats?"
"Oooh.  It's the Zuke's, Maggie!"

After that, we thought we were off-duty and could relax. so ...

"BOOM!"
"BOOM!"

We were into full relaxation mode, when Ragnar and I sensed someone down on the sidewalk on the other side of the field!

"Alert, Mags!  Alert!"
"Got 'em in my sights, Raggi!"

"Hi, Mom!  Look - we're on the job!"
"Focus, Ragnar!  Focus!"

"Right.  Sorry, Mags."
"It's OK, Ragnar.  I understand."

After that, we saw a bunny hop into Tao's yard next door, so we did what any self-respecting Siberians would do:

"Bunny!"
"Bunny!"

That's right!  We sat and stared at him silently.  It's what we do.

I had no idea Ragnar and I would end up working the evening shift! Fear not! We're Working Breed pups, and we thrive on this sort of thing!

Gophers!

Hi everybody!  It's me, Ragnar!  The other morning on our walk, Maggie and I both spotted things right at the same time!

"Hey!  I see something to our left!"
"I see something to our right!"
"It's just people, Mags.  No puppy.  Ragnar, I don't know what you see ..."

We walked a little bit further, then ...

"Oh, yeah, Raggi!  It's golfers!"
"GOPHERS?!?"

"No, GOLFERS.  It's people who chase a little ball all over the place."
"Shoot.  I was hoping for gophers!"

Maggie said it could have been gophers, though; it just wasn't this time.

Hi everybody.  It's me, Ragnar.  There isn't much to report today ...

Serene Scenery Sunday

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  Today, Ragnar and I thought we'd take you on our morning walk, OK?  It was a sunny, "cool" (for Kansas in September) start to the day (in the 50/60s) and we saw lots of pretty things!  Ready to go?

Let's head down the street!

"C'mon, Ragnar!"
"Where are we going today, Mags?"

We take turns choosing the route.  Today, we let Mom and Dad decide.  We headed up the big road and passed by some awesome Sunflowers:

Don't they make you smile?!?  We love our state flower!

From there, we zig-zagged over through a couple housing areas ...

"Check out that sunrise!"
"It's going to be a warm day today, Mags!"

... then hit Anneberg Park!  At first, we enjoyed the wide open spaces:

"I love this park!"
"Me, too!  Oooh!  Flowers up ahead!"

Mom stopped to shoot the flowers.  Of course.

I stopped to enjoy a tree!

"So many messages!"
"There are people coming!"

Anneberg is quite the happenin' place - especially on the weekends!  We decided to pull over to let the people pass us.

"Let's pull over by the bridge!"
"Great idea, Mags!"

"I don't think we're going across, though, Ragnar."
"I thought we were going to cross that bridge when we came to it."

Ragnar can be mighty funny!  (Our dad took the picture of us by the bridge, by the way!  Nice shot, Dad!)

"Into the woods we go!"
"It'll be nice and shady and cool in there!"

"It's awesome in here, isn't it?"
"This might be my favorite part of the walk!"

I think my favorite part was when we ran into a lady who fussed over us and said how pretty we are and how we'd be nice to paint.  She was very nice.  We ran into lots of nice people today!

When we were heading back, going through the neighborhoods again ... well ...

"🎵🎵 Oh, Ragnar!!?!!  Come here a sec; I want to tell you something. 🎵🎵"
"What is it, Ma-oh.  Oh!  I'm not falling for that a second time!"

OK, so MAYBE the other day I tried the same thing, then BOOMed him. Maybe.  Not saying for sure one way or the other.  Ah, c'mon!  It was FUN!  Serene even, depending on your perspective!

Mighty Comfy

Hi everybody!  It's me, Ragnar.  Now that I've been home for just over two and a half months, you might be wondering how I'm settling in.  I mean, you've seen how well Maggie and I get along -- we knew from the get-go that we are brother and sister and just love each other to pieces!  But you might wonder if I can relax here, if I feel at home -- that sort of thing.  Well, let me think about this ...

We will never forget.

Islamic terrorists flying planes into the Twin Towers in New York City ...

... and into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia ...

... and the terrorists' plans for Flight 93 being thwarted by some brave passengers over a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

We will never forget these acts of war.

A Tutorial. By Ragnar Jimmysson.

 Hi everybody!  It's me, Ragnar.  Our mom watches a lot of tutorials while she does her treadmill workouts every morning.  Knowing how much she likes tutorials, I thought I'd put one together, too.  Maggie helped.  This one is called "How To Help Your Mom Get Ready In The Morning".

This morning, our mom (and Maggie, as it turned out) had to be somewhere at 0900 this morning.  After breakfast and our walk in the rain, Mom headed to the bathroom to shower and get ready to go.  I thought she could use a little help!  It went something like this:

"Hi Mom.  It's me.  Ragnar.  Can I come in?"
"Didn't I shut that door?"

"Maggie taught me how to open it."
"Oh, right.  I'll have to remember to thank her for that."

That's as good as an invitation, right?

"Hey, Mags!  C'mon in here!  Mom wants to thank you for something!"
"OK -- oooh, nice job opening the door, Ragnar!"

Maggie's real supportive and encouraging like that!

"Here she is, Mom!"
"Hey, Mom.  Did you want to see me?"
"I'm trying to get ready to go, you guys ..."

Well, if there's one thing we know, it's how to turn on the speed!

"Let's move over here, Ragnar."
"OK. Get ready, Mags!"

"Ha roo!!!"
"Ha roo!!!"

Doesn't music make you move faster?!?  Mom said we were a tremendous help!  We even helped her make the bed by doing zoomies on it.  Being a Working Breed is tough, but with two of us to shoulder the load, it's a piece of cake!

Strike A Pose

Hi everybody!  It's me, Ragnar.  The other day, Mags and I went out front with Mom.  We thought it was a normal potty break, but guess what?!?  Mom had cookies!

"She does, Mags.  I can see them!"
"I can smell them, Ragnar!"
"Would you two pleas----oooh!  You already are!  Good puppies!!!"

That made Mom really happy.  Us, too, given the cookies!

I hope all of you are having a wonderful day!  We have a cold front and it's raining.  It's AWESOME!

Working On Labor Day

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  I know - the usual route is to take the day OFF for Labor Day, but isn't that kind of ironic?  Anyway, not Ragnar and me!  We were working!  And I mean HARD!

There we were, on our morning road march with Mom when ...

"Nice sunrise, huh, Mags?  And Mom?"
"Nice!  Mom, you should get a shot of this!"

The original shot was blurry, so Mom added a blur filter (Gaussian) to blur it more to make it look cool. That makes my head spin. But anyway ... did she just take a shot of the sunrise like I recommended? No. This is what Ragnar and I had to do!

"You don't even have treats, do you?  I thought we were supposed to get time and a half for working on a holiday!"
"Can I pay you when we get home?"
"Mmm... cookies!  I'm so happy."

Being a Working Breed dog is so rough sometimes.  Ragnar and I are up to the challenge, though.  And fear not!  We were well-rewarded for our efforts!

Serene Scenery Sunday

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  For today's serene scenery, Ragnar and I would like to talk you on our morning walk - so get a good, long drink and let's GO!!!

First, we headed up the big hill:

I should say now that today's photos aren't the best, as it was just us and Mom and she was having a hard time holding the phone still. I have no idea why.

Anyway, when we got up into Colbert Hills, we went into a housing development we had never been in before!

"Ooooh, nice!"
"Check out the sunrise, everybody!"

Mom likes exploring new areas and looking at all the pretty houses!

"Awesome hill!"
"There's one in that style you like, Mom!"

Mom really likes that sort of Prairie Modern style of houses; Ragnar likes making Mom happy.

Since we went up a nice hill, we were rewarded with a great view!

We eventually made our way back to the big road up there and continued our loop around Colbert Hills:

"Car!  Move over this way, Mags!"
"Got it, Raggi!  Thanks."

Ragnar has caught on really well about cars and stuff.  He's a quick study!

Here's what may have been the most serene part of the walk for all three of us. Shortly after we hit the 5-mile mark, we came upon this scene:

"Do you see what I see?!?"
"YES!!!  Let's do it!"
"OK, but let's hurry, OK?"

That's right - someone's sprinklers were on and they were going all over the sidewalk!  PERFECT!!!

"Let's go!"
"YEAH!"
"EEEK!  You two!!!"

It was gr-- oh.  You mean Mom's comment there?  Yeah.  Well, there's a chance Ragnar and I both stopped beside her on the way through and did the shaky-shake thing.  Hey!  It's a bonus, right?!?!

"Wow, that felt great!"
"Not just great - but serene!!"

What an awesome, serene walk!  We hope you enjoyed coming with us!  It's almost 100℉ now, so we're very glad we went when we did!
