Question For You

Hi everypuppy and everycat!  It's me, Ammy!  As many of you know, tomorrow is Election Day here in the States.  One of the classes our dad teaches to his college students is Government, so I know that it's important to get smart on our nation's founding, our history and the issues, then go do your civic duty and vote!

Get smart, then vote!

Two of the most important documents in our nation's history are the US Constitution and our Declaration of Independence.  I think most Americans know that our constitution was signed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1787 - it is the oldest written constitution still in use by any nation in the world!  And the Declaration of Independence was adopted in Congress a bunch of years before that - on July 4, 1776!  But here's my question for you!

Where was the Declaration of Independence signed?

"Where was it signed?"

Give up?  The Declaration of Independence was signed ... at the bottom.  Hee hee hee!

"Hee hee hee!"

Remember - get smart on the issues, then go vote!

"I've got to go find my daddy and tell him this one!"
Love,
Ammy

PS: All kidding aside, both the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were signed at the bottom.

...and both in Philadelphia. :)

  2. Oh Ammy - you are so witty. Rolling on my sofa laughing :)

Hmm, Misery seems to think there are parts of the Magna Carta - whatever that is - that are still adhered to. But I believe you because you are much prettier, cleverer, and funnier than Misery.

Do you think I could vote? Can I vote for Turbo?

  11. A great civics lesson - but a serious question for your dad. Our hu-dad, who likes to drone on about this kind of stuff, apparently read that there is question whether the Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 4, or on August 2. Your dad's opinion?

We don't live in the US, so we can't vote. But I hope more of the others do because Momma always says that voting is important!
