Who We Are

Yea!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  Zim had to go to the vet's for a recheck this week for an on-going problem he's been having.  He and Mom were there for quite a long time Monday.  He texted us this photo during a break:

As you can see, he's a guy who knows how to relax. Mom took one of our bone-shaped mats to help him be more comfortable. (Oh. I'm told we only have one of those bone-shaped mats now. Something about the rubber backing getting chew---oh. Never mind. But we only have one now.)

He had a nice, long nap when he got back, then he wanted to go down the street a little and stretch his legs. Cam and I went with him!

"Do you want to stop and take a break, Zimmie?"
"Yeah, maybe we should rest for a minute, Zim."
"I'm OK, girls!  Really!  Let's keep going!"

We knew he wasn't totally himself yet (they gave him a little bit of a sedative to do some of the tests) so we were extra-special gentle with him. Mom was impressed that I knew -- Cammie can always sense these things; she is VERY maternal and kind. I'm a puppy, so I'm just learning "gentle".

I sure do love my big brother!

A few days later, we got a bunch of good news about Zimmie, (YEA!) then Mom said she needed to run out and pick up some meds for him.

"Can I come, too?"

How could she say "no"?

"I'm all set; let's roll."

"Ha roo."

That's right; she couldn't say "no".  My Harp Seal powers are very, very strong.

Anyway, I got to schmooze a bunch of people at the vet school. Mom was very happy with my good manners. I was very happy with the treats she had tucked into her pocket! I also got to meet the Big Dog who stands guard in the anteroom to the waiting room/reception area.

"Hello?"

I very gently rose up, put my paws on him, and sniffed his muzzle. Did I kiss him? I'll never tell.

Ready to head home!

It was fun going on a little adventure.  Mom appreciated the company and likes that she can take us to the vet's to pick up meds or food - you know, when we don't have to have an exam or anything.  She likes us to have positive associations with the place -- like the treats she brought and all the love from the nice people I met!  It makes it much less stressful for us when we do have to have an exam!

The BEST part of the day, of course, is the good news on Zim - and getting back home to everyone!

"Seriously, you guys.  She has treats in her left-hand pocket."
"Got any Stinky Goodness Treats in that pocket?"
"Mmm... treats!"

As powerful as my Harp Seal Look is, when we triple-team her like that, well ... you can imagine!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
