Out front, our Grecian Windflowers are still blooming!
This is really the first year they've done much, so Mom is thrilled. She's also thrilled with our Snowball Viburnum:
She and Dad planted that from a "sucker" off some bushes that died out, so they're both really happy with how it's doing. Maggie and I would be happier if they were real snowballs, but you can't have everything - right?
Remember last week, Mags showed you our Korean Dwarf Lilacs? They weren't doing much then, but look at them now:
Me and the Korean Dwarf Lilacs |
Aren't they beautiful? And they smell really nice, too. Here ... stick your snooter in:
Mmm... could you smell them? They have a much smaller bloom than our Skidmore Lilacs and Old Fashioned Lilacs, but they are just as fragrant!
Out back, our Miss Kim Lilacs are just getting underway:
They aren't at their peak quite yet!
Come on! Let's see what else is going on back here!
Oh! There is "snow" all over our Yorktown Snow Flower Tree now:
Click here to compare it to what it was like just a week ago!
I know what else I want to show you! Follow me!
Run, run, run! |
We are growing herbs and tomatoes this year! Here I am, checking on the Cilantro:
"Mmmm.... cilantrrrrrro!" |
Here's a look after I helped Mom put the tomatoes in:
Mom and Dad can't wait for homegrown tomatoes!
We also have Lavender, but it doesn't hang out with the other herbs. Here are our Lavender bushes:
Moving out of our garden and on to our walks, we saw this Western Meadowlark:
He and another Meadowlark were singing back and forth across the fields to each other. It was a lovely duet!
We also saw more Prairie Groundsel:
... and the Blue Wild Indigo is springing up!
What a beautiful time of year! I hope you saw lots of beautiful things this week that helped you feel serene!
Cammie!
Your garden is really beautiful. We are keeping our paws crossed for some good tomatoes this year as two years running they have failed because of our bad Summers. Cilantro gosh that bugged us at first as over here we call it coriander. We had no idea it was the same thing. Happy Mother's day to mum and have a serene Sunday and enjoy some big easy today.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
