We walked out to the big road and kept walking uphill. Near an intersection, Maggie found something of note:
"Look at these! How cool!" |
Mom convinced Maggie it wouldn't be a good idea to try to grab one. She was going to do it anyway, but there was a Lab across the street walking his people and she got distracted.
We headed up this network of sidewalks that goes up and up and up into the hills.
Maggie and me on the ascent |
When we got to the top, Mom wanted us to pose. This was the best we did for her:
Mags and me |
Can you see the Flint Hills in the background? We had a lovely view up there!
We hit a little bit of shade after a while and stopped for a quick break.
This is not a two-headed Siberian, it's me and Maggie! |
I thought I should clarify that!
Mom kept trying to get a good shot of us, but we were off-roading and the smells were way too intoxicating!
"Let's go, let's GO!" "Break time's over, Mom!!!" |
We reached the end of that path and doubled back. We stopped for a quick photo:
Me and Mags |
The sky was so beautiful! Mom kept trying to get a good shot of us and the sky - this is the best she could do:
My snooter and the sky |
It wasn't what she planned, but she likes that a lot!
We walked and walked some more, then stopped on some stone benches for a water break. Here were are with Dad:
Maggie, me, and Dad. |
In case you're wondering if we were having a great time, check out the expression on Maggie's face in this next shot:
Dad and me; Maggie giving Mom a great big smile |
While Maggie got another couple sips of water, Mom took this shot of me and Dad:
"❤ Daddy! ❤" "❤ Cammie! ❤" |
There is nothing wrong with being a Daddy's Girl!!!!
Anyway ... we took the long way home from there, and looped past the Kansas Ocean! We only walk past there on weekends now because they've been doing a lot of construction in that area.

It was a great walk! I'm glad Dad brought our canteen for us so we could stay hydrated! Do your bipeds do that for you? It's very important, now that the weather is warming up!
Thanks for coming with us! I hope you had a good time!
Cammie!
THAT was a very EVENT FILLED walkie.... we are still Stunned that it is so WARM there.... WE are going to have snow Flurries today....
ReplyDeleteyou ladies are BEAUTIFUL :) though with temps like that, does it mean it is now shedding season??
ReplyDeleteBTW - mom thought of your mom the other day when she stumbled across a recipe on twitter for truffle bark. you know, like the oreo truffles, only flat. 24 ounces choc chips (divided in half) 1/2 melted in the bottom of a 9x13 pan (lined with wax paper). 6 ounces cream cheese and a package of oreos crushed up and mixed together. once the choc chips harden, layer the cream cheese mix and then spread the rest of the melted choc chips on top. no rolling and dipping required. WOOHOO
Wow, that looks like a beautiful day for your walkie!

ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Hi Cammie, What a wonderful walk and you and Maggie are both so photogenic! I'm wondering how many miles per day you walk? It seems like you have really long ones. I'm hoping to increase to 2-3 miles per day and also start riding again. Hunter gets tired after 2.5 miles so 3 might be stretching it for him; however if I walk with him and then ride, I should be good.
ReplyDeleteYour weather looked perfect; we are supposed to get a cool down this week-I'm hoping it stays in the 70's.
Wags, Noreen & Hunter
What an amazing walk! I love the big smiles on your faces.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to find purple balloons, Maggie! We enjoyed coming along on your walk with all of you. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥

we had a lovely day here today too.....just a pity we were inside packing for most of the day :)
ReplyDeleteThat was a superb walk. If you are like us and like it a tad cooler, today was a great day. The rains held off and we walked for about 5 miles -that would be Ciara and Lightning. Phantom got to go to the vet for another of his gazillion bandage changes. Lightning wants to warn you to steer clear of those purple orbs - they are evil in his eyes:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
hey, you pups finally got your dad to sit for a picture! how many treats did that take :D
ReplyDeleteOur mom and Wriggley love the places you have to walk. when they go out on longer walkies during the day, mom wears her water backpack.
We are enjoying similar nice weather (by your folks' standards :) ) and our catio is open!
