"Lemme see that thing, Mom. Mm-hmm, yep, yep, yep..." "How's it look, Dr. Mags?" |
Being the trained specialist that I am, I was able to give her an immediate diagnosis.
"Have you been sticking sharp objects down into your cast?!!?" "Who, me? Ah, c'mon, Dr. Maggie. How could you even think such a thing?" |
... Previously, at Ao4 Headquarters ...
"Just ... like ... the blunt end ... ! Hey, Cam. This is our little secret, OK? Not a word to Dr. Mags!" "Zzzz..." |
As if I didn't know! (Note to self - talk to Nurse Cam about snoozing on the job!) Notice Mom didn't deny doing it when I questioned her, she just was evasive. It's a page right out of the Siberian Husky playbook, actually. Maybe all of the Siberians in Mom's life have taught her a thing or two.
I'll let you know what the other doctor has to say. Something tells me he'll know about the letter-opener, too.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher,
AKA Dr. Maggie
Well done, Dr. Mags! You are taking great care of your Mom. Nurse Cam must have been working the night shift :)

Ah, you saw right through Mom's evasiveness, didn't you, Dr. Mags? And the look on your face? That's a VERY serious doctor's expression. I hope the other doctor finds good things going on to your mom's wrist.
ReplyDeletePoor Mom, oooh the relief to scratch an itch under the cast. Bet the plaster can't come off quickly enough now. Hope it's good news, and Dr Mags can stand down for a while and leave it to Nurse Cammie to administer a little TLC.

nice going Dr Mags - busting the patient on misbehavior. if you need a catscan we can send someone over to help :)
ReplyDeleteWhere was your Mom when ours had a bad itch under her cast too? For her right arm it was summer and oh so sweaty and itchy. For the left arm, there was no cast which was really weird since it was the worse break:( Hope Mom gets a good report tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteYou are doing a great job Dr. Maggie. You better keep your eyes on your mom or she might get that letter opener stuck down her cast.
ReplyDeleteDid she really think she could get something by you, Maggie? It's a good thing you're on the job!
ReplyDeletemol! Maggie, at least your mom has been paying attention to you pups ;) we hope the check up all goes well.
ReplyDeleteyour note today made us mol because our mom sort of hurt her elbow with all of her yard work. mostly she made a mildly sore elbow worse. She isn't one to go to the docs but since we have to hear her grumble every time she scoops our boxes, we think we'll make her go...
