Maigret is a (fictional) French detective based on a collection of over 100 novels and short stories by Georges Simenon.
First we watched the 1990s version, starring Michael Gambon:
"Oh, this is a GREAT episode! Maigret's on to the killer; I just know it!!!" |
... then we checked out the 2016 ones, starring Rowan Atkinson. Mom didn't take any shots of me watching those; sorry!
Both actors did a splendid job interpreting the role! There are even more versions of the novels and short stories -- I think we should look into those, too. There's a version with Charles Laughton that I think would be worth seeing. I hope we can find that one!
So if you're looking for a good family-friendly show to watch while you're trying to stay cool, look for Maigret!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
