Photo Shoot Out-Takes, Part 2

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me, Zim!  Did you like Ammy's post yesterday with her out-takes?  Ha roo roo roo!  She cracks me up!  Me?  I like posing for pictures -- if I'm in the mood.  So I came over to see what was going on...

HEY!  Whatcha got there?!?!  HEY!  Cool!

...and Mom asked me if I'd like to pose for some pictures.  Oh, wait - before I get started.  She'd like me to mention once again that these are wooden eggs - otherwise she never would have had us pose with them.  I wonder what she meant by that?  Well, anyway, I said, "Sure, I'll pose for pix!" and struck a pose for her:

"How's this?  Babes usually go crazy over this pose!"

I was going for my cool, debonaire look.  And then... then... it happened.

"What... is... she... doing to me???
Is there a bunny touching my paw?
I... can't... look..."

Does the look on my face tell it all?  I mean ... it was touching me!!!  That's going a bit too far!  If I'm not in the mood to be touched, don't touch me!  (Paws up from this honorary kitty cat to all my cat friends!)

Mom decided to set the items up next to me, instead of touching me, and that was far more acceptable.

Oh, sure... I'll pose beside them!

I look ready to pounce like the cool cat that I am in that picture above, don't I?  I just still wasn't sure that bunny was going to try to touch me again.  You know how it goes.

I let Mom get a couple good shots off, to include the one used in our Easter card, then that bunny looked sideways at me and ...

Are you lookin' at me?  Don't try to touch me again, you little bite-sized...

...and Mom declared my part of the photo shoot over!  Tune in tomorrow for more photo fun!

Play bows and cat stretches,

Photo Shoot Out-Takes, Part 1

Hi everypuppy and everycat.  It's me - Amber!  I hope all of you had a lovely Easter!  We certainly did, although as you saw from the card on yesterday's post, we had to endure a photo shoot.  As you can imagine, Mom didn't just say, "Here are some wooden eggs  and a little stuffed bunny; how about posing with them?"  Well... OK.  She did say that, but it wasn't quite that simple.  After all, we are Siberian Huskies; we can't make it easy for her!  Storm thought we should share some of the "better" pictures with you.

Mom chose to start with me.  That's not usually a good idea.  I'm not big on going first.  Mom got me to lay down and put the items in front of me.  I didn't know why and I knew I wasn't supposed to play with them, so I did my Malamute ears.  You know... when I lay them down like this:

Not happy, Mom!

I wasn't relaxed, as you can imagine!  I mean... I could ignore the pysanky... but isn't it a bit much to ask me to ignore a stuffed bunny?  Mom reached over and tried to get me to relax...

Mom playing with my footy-foot

That helped a little... and Mom backed up and took this picture real fast:

She was happy enough with that one for a minute, even though I didn't look real happy, but forgot about the plugs in the background.  Oops.  I tried my best to hold still while she changed positions... and let her snap the one she ended up using in the card.

Half a shutter opening later, I ... err ...

Oooh!  How did this happen?  Look!  The bunny fell down!

... err... I witnessed a little accident, let's say.  Before I could ... err ... help the bunny, somesibe who actually likes doing this sort of thing came over, plopped down in front of everything, and struck a pose while Mom set the items back up.

Is this what you're after, Mom?

Whew.  At least that ended my session!  Stay tuned for more photo fun tomorrow!

Love,
Ammy

Indeed He has risen!

Happy Easter!

PS:  No stuffed bunnies or wooden Ukrainian Easter eggs were harmed in the photo shoot for our card.  :)

Sneak Attack?

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me, Zim.  Just relaxing, kicking back on a Saturday.  You know how it is.  Just thinking warm, cozy thoughts and ...  hey, what's that!?!?  Right behind me!

DSCF0413

Is there something back there?  A sneak attack of some sort?  Can you see it?  Here... take a closer look!

DSCF0414

What in the ... oh, wait.

DSCF0415

OK.  Just my foot.  No problem here.  Whew.

Have a great Saturday.  Keep your eyes peeled for sneak attacks!

Photo Finish Friday

Woo, everypup and everycat.  It's me - Dave.  We'll have a special Easter post on Sunday, so I'm posting some rather serene-looking scenery pix for you today!

First up is a lovely barn Mom stumbled onto (when she was out without any of us!!!) that just oozes "Kansas"!

Isn't it pretty?  You should be able to click these for a better, bigger look!  Let's change our angle a bit...

...and now let's go in a little closer!

Isn't it pretty?  Very Kansas-y.

We pass this tree on one route we take to get to the Kansas Ocean.  Mom keeps trying to get a good shot of it.  This is the best yet:

It's very typical of the scenery here!

We also love sharing our sunsets with you, as you probably have figured out by now.  Here I am, enjoying one several nights ago:

Bee-woo-tiful!

I get a lot of color inspiration out there, for my work as Mom's Guide Dog for the Color Blind!

Luv,
Dave

Working With Dad

Woo, everypup and everycat.  It's me - Dave.  As our lovely days of cold and snow start to fizzle out here in Kansas and the days of sun and warmth break through, it means Dad wants to be outside on the golf course, chasing that little white ball around.  I know how fun playing ball can be, so I thought I'd lend Dad a paw.

He's teaching several of his on-line college courses right now; I thought I'd help him get his work done with those, so he could hit the links.

Me and Dad

Don't I look helpful?  We're even color-coordinated.

Oh, don't worry.  I've got enough Working Breed get-up-and-go in me to help Mom out later, too.  Woo.

Luv,
Dave

I never get tired of this game!

What's everypup and everykitty else up to today?

A Bouquet and Some Berries!

Tail wags, all!  It's me - Stormy!

Over the weekend, we received a beautiful bouquet of roses from our friend Golden Samantha!  She said,  "These pink roses are given to friends, bringing them a sweet and fruitful day. Those who receive these roses as a gift need to pass them on to ten friends to show them you care. And to those who received the roses, it's to show you are never forgotten."

That is so very kind, Sammie!  We are quite honored and just love them.  OK... Zim tried to eat them, but that's how he is.  Ha roo roo roo!  We would like to pass the bouquet along to:

Huffle Mawson, Explorer Cat and Honorary Husky
Steve, Kat and Wilbur (Yes, all three of them.  I LIKE Wilbur!  So does Zim!)
The OP Pack - Dakota, Phantom and TD - their weather has been as cold and blustery as ours, and this could help warm their mom up!  It made ours smile and think more Spring-like thoughts!
Everyone over at the Beaded Tail - Angel, Isabella and Sadie -- and their mom, too!
Parker and her family - Puff, Powder, Rudy and Diamond
The Dughallmor Beagles - Gabbi, Rosie, Alfie and Snoop!
and Mochi!

That might be more than ten bloggers, but it's ten blogs!  :)

Speaking of Spring-like thoughts, guess what we had over the weekend?  Well, yes, high winds, bitterly cold temps and a Wintry mix, but that's not what I meant.  STRAWBERRIES!  We had our first taste of strawberries!  I was in the kitchen helping, and I got the first taste!

IMG_0448
Of course I'd like some!

Then the boys came in and got a little...

...then Ammy came in and Mom gave her a little taste.

Ams

She ended up putting hers on the living room carpet, studying for a while, then giving it to Zim.  She's like that.

The berries were simply delicious - and now Dave is all excited.  He figures if it's berry season, watermelon can't be too far behind!

I hope all of you enjoyed the weekend!  Many thanks again to Sammie for the beautiful bouquet!

Tail wags,
Storms

Sunday Salute - Alfie, Slick, Hank, Fred & Lord Bentley!

Wowzers, that's a lot of Saluting!  Play bows, everypup and everykit-cat, it's me, Zim!  Do you remember me talking about my really cool friends from Georgia, Hank and Slick?  I posted about meeting them at this link and then gave them a Salute/P-update at this one.  (Way back when Slick was adopted, we Saluted him, too!)  Today, I get to introduce you to the whole pup-family ... to include new additions!

Up first is the very sweet, regal Savannah Alredia Eskew... or as we know her, Alfie.

Alfie

Alfie reigns over all the other pups, teaches them things and keeps them in line.  Much like Storm does for all of us.

Next up is my buddy Slick, AKA Dumasza Slick (Gooboy, Gooboy).  Check him out in this picture:

Slick

Doesn't he look sad!??!  The picture was taken from the back porch into the house, through the glass door.  You can see the reflection of his two brothers outside!  That's probably why he was so sad!!!  It's like he was stuck in the house practicing the piano while all the other kids were outside playing ball!  Or... something like that.

Aunt Sniggy told our mom that Slick likes to sit in the Queen Anne chair, hang his head over the arm rest and "preach" to the other pups as they run by - so they've been calling him "The Rev".  Ha roo!  He'd get along well with Ammy, I think.  Speaking of the other pups, let's meet them!

Here's a great shot of Hank (die drei farbe) Cow Dog and his new brother Fredrick von Benjamin (schwartze hunde) - that's all a cool way of saying Hank is a tri-color and Fred is black!

Hank and Fredrick

Doesn't Hank look all grown up!?!?  And guess what?  Fredrick is his real litter-mate brother!  The man who originally adopted him really didn't have enough time to spend with him, so he did the very kind thing for Fred and found him the perfect home -- a home with Aunt Sniggy, Uncle Mike and the pup-pack!  Ha rooo!  We're so happy for all of them!  He's only been home for about a month, I think, but it sounds like everypuppy is getting along famously!

Here are the boys sharing a bench in the garden:

Mine!
No, mine!

Isn't having a brother just the BEST?!?!  (Hey, Hank!  Love your Kansas State Wildcats collar!)

Hey, did you notice how shiny their coats are?  (I thought maybe those gorgeous Basset babes in Scotland, Martha and Bailey, might notice....)  Fredrick decided to give his coat a different look after that photo shoot and went and rolled all around in the yard.  Check this out:

Ha roo roo roo!  Way to go, FredRICK!

As if that adoption news isn't exciting enough, Aunt Sniggy also told Mom about her twin brother Buddy's new pup, Lord Bentley!  Bentley is a four year old rescue Basset!  His first family was from the UK and because of financial reasons, they had to return to Britain.  Bentley would have had to be in quarantine for six months to a year (!) and they did not want to put him through that.  He was in foster care for two years until Buddy was chosen as his forever Daddy!  Aunt Snig told Mom Bentley has greatly improved the quality of her brother's life.  We think Buddy has greatly improved Bentley's life, too!  What a perfect match up!

He's not a blood relative to Hank and Fred, but now they are cousins, of course.   Meet Lord Bentley!

Lord Bentley

What a cool coat pattern!  Welcome home, Lord Bentley!

What a great family - you can see why we wanted to Salute them!  Aunt Sniggy told our mom, "God is good to us.  Now that we have Fredrick as our 'another forever puppy' we are a complete family."  Aunt Sniggy, we not only salute Alfie, Slick, Hank, Fred and Bentley, we salute you and Uncle Mike, too!  And your brother Buddy!

On behalf of the entire Army of Four -

Zim

Honk! Honk! Traffic Jam!

Ha roo, pups and cool-cats!  It's me, Zim!  Wowzers, did I have an adventure yesterday!  Remember the picture of Ammy from Wordless Wednesday?  She saw geese at the Kansas Ocean!!!  How cool is that!??!  I've never seen a goose, except for the fly-overs they do in the skies above Ao4 HQs.  Well, Mom asked me if I'd like to go for a ride with her and of course I jumped at the chance!  I didn't think we'd see any geese, I wasn't even thinking geese, because we walk to the Kansas Ocean, we don't drive there.  But then... we pulled up at the ocean Ammy discovered back in February!!!

She had seen a sign about ducks and geese when she was there, so I knew there was potential.  And then... something caught my eye!

There, Mom!  Let's go that way!!!

No, it wasn't the mud that you can see there that was calling me ... though I not only managed to step in it but I made Mom step in it, too.  (Ha roo roo roo!)  Check out the banks of the Amber Ocean!!!

Gooses!

They saw me coming and jumped in the ocean and started swimming away.

Hey, gooses!  C'mon back here!

There was a sign posted about "no swimming", but either they ignored it or can't read.

They started honking their horns, so I figured there was some traffic jam out there on the ocean or something.  I looked to my left and saw this other kind of goose.  They look like the kind Ammy saw; check 'em out!

Mom said they were from Canada ... or something like that.  Fascinating!

I tried to lull the other guys in...

Heeeeeeeere goosie, goosie, goosie!

But they seemed immune to my charms.  Fine.  I'll just wait.

I can wait here all day, gooses!

But apparently, Mom had other ideas ... involving getting in the car and going home.  Rats!

I'm sending her a mind-meld message to take me back VERY soon!  Those gooses were fascinating!!!

Zim

Wubba! Wubba! Wubba!

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me - Zim!  Many of you commented on my Wubba from Tuesday's post.  Once I made sure Ao4 HQs was safe, I took a break from Sentry Duty and gave my Wubba a good workout.  Check out these action shots!

Here I come!

You can see that long lead trailing behind me.  Like I said, Mom doesn't hold on to it - it just trails behind me.  Eventually, she took it off - once we were sure Oswald or his condo renters weren't hiding somewhere.

I'm so fast in this next one, I almost ran out of the photo frame.

I think I even got a bit distorted.  When will Mom learn to take the camera out there instead of the iPhone?!

Do I look a little tired in this next shot?

I really wasn't.  I just decided to walk so Mom could get a better picture.  She threw my Wubba again and I ran after it.  I did a little play bow to it...

Ha roo, Wubba!

...then decided I had lots more energy and ran around the yard with it some more!  Look at how happy I am!

Ha roooooooooo!

Have a great, fun-filled day!
Play bows,
Zim
