Fall Fun

Ha roo, pups and kit-cats. It's me - Stormy! I was out in the yard not posing for pictures, when Amber tried it again this year. She told me there was a bush on fire out in the front yard.

No, I won't look at the camera.

What, Ammy? There's a bush on fire?

Actually, there's a Burning Bush. Ammy's such a punster, she can't resist. And she does crack me up.

Oh, come on! Tell me you don't laugh at her silly jokes! Ha roo roo roo, she's a riot.

In other news, it's that time of year here - the invasion of the Harmonia axyridis. They look innocuous enough...

...but they get in the house, fly around (I don't LIKE bugs flying in my house!), and they BITE! Oh, and when the bugs panic or Mom or Dad squish them, they let off a highly obnoxious odor and discharge a yellow fluid that stains walls and fabrics. Fabrics?!!? That's right. These are not your cute little ladybugs. They are the Asian Lady Beetle; they're horrible things that can get in through the tiniest of cracks. Nasty bugs! Nasty!

Ammy's joke with the Burning Bush reminds me of a poem for the ladybugs - remember this old nursery rhyme?
Ladybug! Ladybug!
Fly away home.
Your house is on fire.
And your children all gone.
Seems pretty harsh, but hey, if it gets those bugs out of here, I'm going to start chanting it!

Tail wags,
Storms

PS: I said it was harsh! But it's just a nursery rhyme ... and all the ladybug's puppies got out safe! That's what really matters. Just ... don't come to our house!!!

  2. My Human takes those Asian lady bugs as a personal afront. She says that you think lady bugs are all nice, but then those stupid ones bite. It just isn't right.

  11. We get those bugs too, they fake you out because you think they are a 'lucky ladybug' and you should make a wish when one lands on you... but they aren't actually ladybugs! Impostors! We should arrest them all for fraud!
