No Pups On The Furniture... ?

Woo, everypuppy, it's me - Dave. As many of you know, we have an insane rule around here about "no pups on the furniture". Except for the bed. Which is ours anyway. Pretty much. OK, we share.

So... since our computer crash, Mom and Dad have been trying to find any photos they may have actually backed up - on those things that look like Frisbees or to web sites. The other day, Dad found some old pictures on his computer and put them on a Frisbee thing for Mom. I was going through them .... and I saw this one!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! It's Dad... great brother Booter & Stormy on the floor beside him ... and AMMY is on DAD'S LAP on the FURNITURE!!! AMMY!!! On the FURNITURE! Can you believe it!?!?

This is an outrage. I can't believe Ammy was allowed to do that!!! It can't be a size thing - at 58 pounds, I'm small enough. REALLY! Here I am, trying to convince Dad to let me up.

Dad? Can't I just come on up and snuggle with you?
I won't take up much room, really! Please, Dad?

He didn't seem to go for it. I think after seeing that picture, he owes me! And Ammy owes me, too! Woo!

I tried it on Mom later that night. She wouldn't let me up, but at least she came down and sat on the floor.

Mom? I was born to be a lap dog, really!

I still think Ammy owes me. I don't care if she was just a cute little sweet potato pup. Woo!

Luv,
Dave

  2. The horror. We are allowed on certain furniture (couch, chair) but no on other (kitchen table, kitchen cabinets - well, pretty well anything in the kitchen - even the refrigerator (sorry Dave)). We are also not allowed to eat the furniture, though we have been known to forget that.

  3. That is totally unfair treatment. It's dogist! Is it because you are a boy? Is it because you are from Texas? Is it because you don't have red fur? This can't be tolerated!

  4. well it just goes to show what happens when you have a computer crash!

Dave - I have learned to live and let live, and let bygones be bygones.

    Whatever that means!

I am not allowed on the furniture either, although the hoooomans do not know what goes on when they are in their beds! Ha ha ha King of the Living Room Frontier - me!

  5. Awwww... how old was Amy in that picture? She looks a little young. Very sweet!

I'm sorry you can't get on the furniture. At least your mom gets down on the floor with you for a snuggle.

  6. That is just unbelievable! If rules are broken for one, they are broken for all! Geeze! It was nice of your mom to get on the floor with you though since they aren't letting you on the furniture - yet.

  7. We're not allowed on the furniture either (not even the bed!), so we feel your pain. Ammy does look awfully cute there, woo know how she can bat those big beautiful eyes of hers & get just about anything!

  10. Hi, Dave!
Yes, you really are a lap dog! Those pictures are adorable!
Technically, she was not on the furniture... she was on your Dad. I hope that helps you feel better.

  11. WOO WOO

We don't get that No Furniture Thing at all. Mom makes us lay on the couch while she eats dinner! That works for us, then we can see her TV tray with all of the food! Keep working on your Mom

  12. We just have to get our Moms together, Dave. We get to camp out on the sofa once in a while but we are NOT supposed to get on the beds. You guys seem to have mastered the bed maneuvers.

But at least Mom's lap looked like a pretty good resting spot for your furry sweet face.

  13. Well, truth to tell, we are allowed on the bed ONLY when THE BLANKET is on it--mom objects to sleeping with dog hair for some reason (she hugs us all the time, so what gives with that, huh?).

I never get up on any other furniture. I dunno why--but Shelby has Her Spot on the leather loveseat--mom puts her blankie there, and there she curls up. Otherwise, we stay on the floor.

She won't let us upstairs, either. Hmph. Rules schmules, I say you should be allowed up at LEAST once!

  15. We'll have to try to get our Momma to post the pictures of Brice being a lap puppy. You can barely see Momma.

There is hope for you Dave. We started as floor puppies too.

  16. Bad news all round there Dave. Can't really tell you what to do apart from keep getting onto sofas, and getting down when told, and eventually they will give in.

Of course some dogic comes into it. You need to let them know that travelling on the sofa inside your vehicle is exactly the same, so if you can go on one, you can go on the others in the house. That's assuming you travel on the sofa in your vehicle and don't get thrown in the back with all the junk.

  17. We're not allowed on the furniture at our house either, Dave! It's so not fair! What a cute puppy Ammy was!

    Love ya lots,

  18. Boy, Ammy sure was a cute lil thing back then, and she still is. Dave, understand your delemma, while we are allowed on the pomegrantet sofa, we are not allowed to share the bed with the bipeds and we just don't get that at all. That's the best place to sleep! Unfair is right. Bacci tries to sneak in at night while the bipeds are asleep, but he's so big he doesn'r sneak very well and has to get right back down again. I have given up, frankly. Keep trying Dave, maybe they will come around.

  19. hehe.. we agree that is so unfair Dave. You have the photographic evidence now too.. you should bribe them or just keep giving them those cute looks and you might win them over one day! lol
