"What are you doing, Cammie? Staring at the neighbors' house?" "No, Maggie. There's something down there!!!" |
I knew there was something down there! Either on the lower deck or below the upper deck. But I knew it was down there!
Mom went down to the lower deck and couldn't find anything -- but she knew I was right. We Sibes always know these things!
I knew my involvement was necessary -- so I leapt into action:
"Aunt Cammie! No! Don't do it!" "I have to handle this, Mags! I have to!" |
I knew it was up to me! Mom couldn't find it (must be associated with her sense of direction...). Dad was out of town. Maggie is brave, but I must protect my puppy! Zim ... well, let's face it - Zim would make friends with it. I made my move!
"Save yourself, Aunt Cam!" "Don't try to stop me you guys! Open the gate to the lower deck, Mom!" "Aw, c'mon, Cam! Can't he just stay here?" |
It took me no time whatsoever to locate the intruder!
"BINGO!" |
By now, you might be wondering what was up there. Are you ready for this??? A SQUIRREL! Making his nest in our deck! A SQUIRREL!!!
"You've got a lot of nerve, Squirrel! Now CLEAR OUT!" "I have your six if you need anything, Ca---oooh! Look! A leaf!" |
It's gone now, and I had the situation well in hand. I was fully prepared to call in the big guns -- you know, Molly the Wally over in the UK -- but I took care of it. We are squared away!!!
What? Oh, fine. After Dad got back and our winds died down, he went up with a ladder and removed the nesting materials. But it was my idea AND I'm the one who found him. That squirrel KNOWS not to come back to Ao4 Headquarters!!!
Job well done!
Cammie!
PS: Speaking of Molly, she (and others) have been asking when I'm going to bring my Dear Cammie column back. We all put our heads together and have come up with a plan. Maggie will post about it tomorrow!
Pawsome Cammie. We are so impressed with your sleuthing skills. Darn right of daddy to get rid of the horrid pesky tree rat. Mind you I'd have just gone for deading it. Play bows to you my fine friend. Keep you eyes peeled though as you never know it may come back. I had a nice few chases today too. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly

ReplyDeleteSo did Lily's. This is crazy strange... sort of like that Tree Rat that you got rid of !!!
Good job Cammie! That squirrel should have known better than to try to bunker down at the Army HQ!
ReplyDeleteWe can't believe a Squirrel would try to build a house on your deck! That is outrageous!
ReplyDeleteSneaky no-good squirrels! Good work Cam.
ReplyDeleteApparently Abby and Zim went to the same School of Home Defense... Abby always wants to play - with the squirrels, the rabbits, the moose, etc.... Glad you were on the ball, Cam! You might want to talk to you backup about her attention span - Maggie having your six is only helpful if she actually remembers that she's supposed to watch your back! Heehee! Nice work, Cam!

OMD! A squirrel tried to invade your house?!?! That's just beyond the pale! They're getting so brazen. Say NO to squirrels!
ReplyDeleteWell SOMEPUP's gotta be on the alert in that house, may as well be you! Thank Dawg for that. Juno on the other hand, "sent a message" to the mole population living on the property at Wild Dingo. It wasn't pretty, but somepup had to do it. sigh. Tough girls stick together...
