Yesterday's Walk

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie.  On our afternoon walk yesterday, Maggie and I made another important discovery.  Mom took tons of photos (I know... what a surprise!) so I can show you how it all came down!  Ready?  Let's go!

We walked up the big hill on the big road, like usual:

I let Maggie and Dad take the lead because Mom wanted to stop and take a shot of the flag across the street. Just as she was focussing in ...

Oops. Well, that looks pretty cool, too. Here's her shot of the flag:

Not really what she was going for, but she can try again this afternoon!

We walked on the cool path where we see turkeys, bunnies, and deer, but didn't see any. Once we got to the Kansas Ocean, though, we saw something we've never seen before!

It's a bird.

Oh, sorry.  Mom was all kinds of excited about seeing it; it's something called a Pied Billed Grebe.

After we spent ten million hours looking at the Grebe, we went up the windy, hilly path to the water tower:

We saw a pretty wildflower on our way up the hill:

That's not our important discovery, though. Neither is the Grebe. It was something else -- we can see it after we get around this turn ...

"Just a little further!"

... and get to the top of the hill. Now - down to our right, in the midst of all that mud that we aren't allowed to walk in! Check it out!

It's that space capsule I discovered -- and it's sunk WAY down in the mud!!! Maggie and I were very surprised - as it seems to have moved, too! We had a serious discussion about what might have happened -

"Cammie, this is a very serious matter!"

That's Maggie, doing her serious Prime Minister Look.

We were still talking about it when we were almost home:

"Very serious, indeed, Maggie!"

We reached the only logical conclusion:

"I think space aliens must have moved it!"

Thanks for coming along on our walk and letting me show you our important discovery!

Cammie!
