Horsing Around

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Did you all enjoy Maggie's stick yesterday - and the beautiful thoughts surrounding it?  I know I did.  On our way home from Tuttle Creek, things got even better - Dad decided we'd stop at a segment of the Hudson Trail that's just at the edge of our neighborhood so we could get some more adventuring in!

"Umm.... Cam?!?"
"Hang on, Mags, I see something over here .."

I was checking something else out and didn't even see the horses at first!  By the time I turned around, Mags was already down the fence line, introducing herself to our neighbors.  Or should I say "NEIGHbors"?

"Hello?  Is any horse interested in being friends?"

The one with the kind, white face walked right over to her.

"Allow me to introduce myself.  I'm Polargold's Margaret Thatcher ..."
"Hay!"

He was a very calm, friendly horse, and we could tell he was used to all kinds of visitors!  Mags and I have been around horses plenty of times, so we were very calm, too.  (Otherwise, Mom and Dad wouldn't have let us say hello.)

After Maggie and our new friend visited a while, I walked over to the fence.

"Hello?"

I stayed right there, letting any horse who wanted to meet me come over.  It's less threatening that way.  I wouldn't want to startle anyone!

"Would anyone like to meet me, too?"

"Oooh, you seem like a very sweet horse!"

"Hello.  I'm D'Azul's Girl From Ipanema.  You can call me Cammie!"
"Hay!"

It was so wonderful making a new friend!  Look at how happy it made me:

"That was the BEST adventure!!!"

Maggie had fun, too - right, Mags?

"You betcha!"

We hope to walk that part of the trail again soon.  I hope our new friend will be there, too!

Cammie!

  13. Your NEIGhbors look like friendly chaps. Phantom loves to go visit our local mini donkeys, but it is just a wee bit too far for him to go these days.

    Happy walking.
