Serene Scenery Sunday

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie, here with Serene Scenery Sunday.  Today, Maggie and I thought you might like a look around our gardens.  How does that sound?  Before we get to ours, though, check this out:

Me.  I'm not really grumpy; the sun was in my eyes.

It's our next-door neighbors' (Yuntao and Mei's) Redbud Tree. Isn't it spectacular? Ours don't bloom as early as theirs for some reason, but they're trying. Here's a shot of one of our branches:

While we're out front, here is what the Grecian Windflowers are doing now:

We have a lot of wind, so they should be happy.

Do you remember Mom and Dad put in a Butterfly Garden last year? The Pincushion Flower is already in bloom!

Pincushion Flower!

Mom is mighty thrilled, as she's sure not everything she planted last Fall will have taken root. She really likes the Pincushion Flower, what with being a quilter and all.

Of our five varieties of lilacs, two are beginning to bloom! The first are always the "Skidmore" Lilacs (Mom named them after the friend who gave the cutting to her):

Next are the Old Fashioned Lilacs:

The Korean Dwarf Lilacs and the Miss Kims will be next; the "Beth" Lilac bush (a cutting from another friend) hasn't ever bloomed here, but it's still tiny. We're giving it time.

Lastly, but by no means least, do you know what smells even lovelier than Lilacs? Juddi Viburnum! Ours are starting to bloom:

No one can resist giving them a sniff! Right, Maggie?

"Mmm.... like Heaven on Earth!"

That's what's going on in our gardens so far!  Thanks for coming on our tour!  I hope you feel nice and serene now!

Cammie!

  2. You have a lovely garden, and I imagine it's very peaceful and serene there. All those blooms are lovely! We have redbud too, and an azalea in the yard, and dogwood blooms. And there are some forget-me-nots in the yard. All pretty signs of spring. By the way, that first picture of you, Cammie, against the blue sky--gorgeous!
