TV Show Reviews

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  As many of you know, I do appreciate a good TV show or movie - and it's been a while since I've posted any reviews.  I thought I'd discuss a few today.

Like many of you, we watched the new season of Sherlock.  There was plenty of action and plot twists - and that was all great!  In one episode, however, they kept breaking busts of Margaret Thatcher, and I found that to be a bit distressing!  I mean ... that's a little too close to home, if you know what I mean!

Just to clarify, I'm the one on the left.

Yeah.

So, anyway, overall - Sherlock was pretty good.  Except for the smashing Margaret Thatcher parts.

We also watched Agatha Raisin, a rather light-hearted British murder-mystery show.

"Oooh, there's Agatha with Jemma!  I keep hoping Jemma and Bill will get together ..."

It's got a good combination of humor, mystery, and action!  It's lighter fare, which is sometimes just what you need!

"I'm pretty sure I know who dunnit."

And, as you can see, it holds my interest!

We also just started watching that series Victoria.  It's an OK show ...

"Hmm!  British history drama!  This could be good!"

... but they take a lot of liberties with history and frankly, Tori, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who plays Dash, should have had a much, much larger role.  Seriously.  I'm sure my very dear friend Princess Leah would agree with that!

"Oh, enough already!  Where's Dash?  Zzz...."

Those are my TV reviews for now.  What have you all been watching?  Anything good?

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher (you know which one!)

  8. We watched Sherlock and Victoria but never heard of the other show. Is the Agatha Raisin on your local PBS station or somewhere else? Mom likes watching Victoria for all the period clothing especially the women's.

  9. Mom watched Sherlock too. She wasn't crazy about the finale this season; too many confusing and farfetched twists. But Mrs Watson is always a trip.

  11. We have never seen any of those shows, Maggie! Our mom has been watching boring old MSNBC. We prefer shows that make her laugh and this channel sure doesn't!

  12. Great reviews Maggie, not sure I approved of the Margaret Thatcher in-seed-dent either, they should have stuck to the original Napoleon busts!
And, I completely agree about Tori, after suffering the indignity of being thrown in the river in Dickensian the least the peeps could do was make it a STARRING role in Victoria, really, just not good enough!

  15. We very much liked the season of Sherlock too! We haven't started on Victoria yet. The night it premiered, all of our shows were continually interrupted with tornado warnings. So we set it to tape a later reairing and will watch it this weekend!
