"Oh. I can come out now? Nah ... I'm fine. I'll be out in a bit." |
I don't mind her borrowing 10 Downing for a little private time. It's very comfy in there and see the pink camo layer? That's one of those cool mat things. It's awesome!
Anyway, where was I? Oh, right. In the evenings, things get back to semi-normal - other than stuff piled in bizarre places (Mom and Dad had to empty not only the master bath, but the walk-in-closet, and needed to take some things off walls) and they put a barrier up so we can't get into the master bath.
On the weekends, though -- we've got the place to ourselves again. AND Mom has had time to make sure there aren't any "NoNoMaggieDon'tEatThats" in the master bath. She let me check on the progress this morning!
"Greetings from the partially remodeled bathroom!" |
The walls are all framed up and dry-walled, so things are really starting to take shape! It's truly like a giant box in there! Totally awesome. And comfy, as you can tell. Ken left a nice, comfy quilt on the floor. He works very hard, so I don't think it's for taking a nap - I think it's to protect the floor from all the things that make a lot of noise during the week.
At one end are some capped off pipes that will look different once they finish that wall. And on the other end ...
"A bench?!?" |
A nice, sturdy bench! I hadn't seen that until this morning! How cool is that!?! And you know what benches are for ...
"This is so awesome!" |
It's like the sitzbank, only in a box!!! Even better news - I'm allowed to jump up there whenever I want to! How great is that?!?!
There are only two drawbacks so far that I can see:
1. That little niche that you see next to me isn't for a TV, it's for extra shampoo and stuff. If anyone had asked me, I think it would be nice to sit on my new bench and watch some detective shows or something.
2. Apparently there will eventually be water involved in this new box of mine. I might change my mind about thinking it's a swell place to hang out. We'll see.
Anyway - that's how things are shaping up! We'll eventually do a whole "before and after" post, but we thought you'd like an update. So far, I just love our new giant box!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
Thanks for taking us on a tour of the work. We hope it will all be done very soon.

ReplyDeleteYour peeps are gonnnnnnna love that new shower and the bench is fantastic. Ummmm maybe you can sit there and hand them the shampoos.
guess what during our gigantic renovation in 2016 mom got me a kennel exactly like that yep. It is the same size etc. She called it my safe room
'cause there were men everywhere and mom said they must have been raised in a barn because they kept leaving doors open. so anytime she could not be with me sequestered in my office she put me in my safe room. It had enough room for a litter box, food, water and a bed.
I still have it in the study but I rarely go in it even though the door is open.
Hugs madi your bfff
We didn't realize you were getting a new box made! Cool! Plus it has a bench? Pawesome!
ReplyDeleteThat is an impressive box, Maggie. Can't wait to see it when it's all done.

Nice that you two can snoopervise and appraise the work on the weekends. And nice of those workers to leave you a big box AND a bench:)

Your new giant box is coming along beautifully, Maggie!
ReplyDeleteThat giant box looks very roomy. Our mom is a bit jealous as she has been wanting a new bathroom for many years. She wants to build a big shower like the one you are getting. Maybe it will happen next year. We can't wait to see how yours turns out.
ReplyDeletehow nice to have a bench and a treat hole in your giant box!
