Here's a nice one of us girls out front:
Maggie and me! |
After going through the workflow checklist on that, she followed a tutorial to learn how to convert to a pencil sketch:

After that, she figured out on her own how to bring a little color back in, to make it look like a colored pencil drawing:

I think she's starting to catch on!
I can't remember what she was learning how to do on this, but here's Maggie from a recent pool party:
"Filler up, Mom!" |
Our mom started following a lesson on how to cut a subject with a lot of hair out of one scene and paste it into another. The instructor used a supermodel with long, flowing hair. Mom used us, of course. Affinity Photo is allowing her to get down to each strand of fur (unlike PhotoShop Elements) to make the selection look more realistic. She did great on that part of the lesson, but the pasting into another scene didn't work like in the lesson, so she improvised. If you follow her on FaceBook, you've already seen this, but we think it's cool, so here it is:

We like her version better than the lesson! It looks like album art for some kind of Celtic rock group or something. Like maybe Blackmore's Night!!! Don't you think?
That's about it for this week!
"I thought that was it! What's this, Cam?" "She learned how to do her own Orton Effect. I thought this would be a good closer." |
We hope you have a wonderfully serene Sunday!
Cammie! (and Mags)
I love all of the special effects! Your mom did a great job with your beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your special effects.
ReplyDeleteThose are all beautiful, but of course, it really helps to have beautiful models too. Mom is going to have to try to do something with that Affinity stuff too - it isn't easy though!!!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Those are all cool pictures your mom created. We think you two should put out your own album of woos. There is no doubt you could come up with enough singing for a full album.
ReplyDeleteWe love all the special effects. My Margret wants to learn how to do things like that just as soon as she has a bit more time. In the meantime we will enjoy your mom's hard work!
ReplyDeleteVery good work. Mom knows all about how tough learning these photo programs can be.
ReplyDeleteSuch great photos. Mom and Dad bought me a pool but it has sharks at the bottom of it in cartoon colors and I'm afraid to go in it.
ReplyDeleteAbby Lab
Oh, those photos are FABulous gurls! Your MOms a pro fursure! Ma is lucky if she is able to conquer PicMonkey! BOL!!!! She will check out this one thou.
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
Those are such pawesome photos! Your momma's doing great!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are some super cool effects! We love the one of you two and the moon, you need to howl!
ReplyDeleteKiki and Nala
Wow, these are great photo effects of the girls! I love them all but the pencil sketch and the dogs in the moonlight are my favorites. Meanwhile I suck at such things, still trying to figure out how to shoot action shots with my camera - shutter speed? I can't find it!! It is maddening. I admire your talent.
