Serene Sunflower Sunday

Greetings to all! It's me, Mags. For Serene Scenery Sunday this week, Ragnar and I thought we'd show you some of the Sunflowers our mom is growing this year. She's growing three different dwarf varieties - in pots and in some of the garden areas.  We didn't exactly cooperate when it came to not eating th---uh, posing with them, so we thought we'd just show you the posies. Ready?

Here are a couple looks at the tiers on the south side of the house:
Left to right:  Blackberry Lilies, Firecracker Sunflowers, and Liriope.

Looking at the next tier down, Firecracker and Orange Hobbit Sunflowers.

Time for some closeups! Here's an Orange Hobbit Sunflower:

And get a load of the only kind of firecrackers we like - Firecracker Sunflowers!

Mom can't get enough of those guys!

And here are the smallest of them all, the Junior Sunflowers:

In other news, and since it's our blog, here's a shot of us out on our walk this morning:
"Hey, Mags!  Is it the 21st yet?"
"I don't think so.  We should check the park for horses and cows anyway, though!"

Thanks for taking a look at our sunflowers!  We think they're quite nice -- they make our mom and dad smile, AND they're rather tasty.  (You didn't hear that second part from me, OK?)

Have a serene sunflower-filled Sunday!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

  1. Lady is very jealous you have blooming sunflowers now. We have some time before ours bloom. She looks every day. Some are now as tall as her! Looks like you had a good week. We need our Lady to remember to pack water for us. Stay cool. Lee and Phod

  2. Those sure are pretty sunflowers and we agree that your firecracker is the only kind we like to see (or hear).
