Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie.  I had fun playing in the backyard the other morning after our walk.  Mom didn't get any good pictures of me running around, but she did catch me striking a pose down on the lower tier:

She's been kind of slacking.  I think we should go back out there and see if she can get some action shots, don't you?

Monday Morning Planning Session

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  This morning, after breakfast, our walk, and a round of zoomies, Cam and I held our Monday Morning Planning Session.  It went pretty much like this:

"What do you want to do today, Cam?"
"I dunno ... what do you want to do today, Mags?"

We haven't really come up with our game plan yet.  We'll keep you posted!

Serene Scenery Sunday

Hello and greetings to all!  Cam and Mags here with Serene Scenery Sunday.  We've had some beautiful walks this week, so we thought we'd share photos from all of them with you today!

We saw some remarkable sunrises:

"Wow, this is worth the price of admission, huh, Cam?"
"It's beautiful!  I can't wait 'til we get to the top of the hill!"

The view from the top was wonderful!

"Oooohhh!"
"Aaaahhhh!"

We had a cold snap this week; for some reason, that meant we had the trail all to ourselves!  It was perfect!

"I love the crunchy leaves!"
"Me, too, Maggie!"

One morning, we even saw the moon setting!

"Check it out!  It's the moon!"
"I feel a howl coming on ..."

And here's one more look at a gorgeous morning sky:

"Just beautiful, isn't it, Maggie?!?"
"Uh-huh.  There's a pup barking over there ..."

One of us gets distracted easily.  Well, anyway - we hope we brought a little serenity into your Sunday!

Busy Week!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie.  It's been such a busy week!  Maggie and I plan to do a lot of this today:

I know. Work, work, work! But someone's got to guard the Studio while Mom works on her quilts, right?!?

Enjoying The View

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Now that all the new screens and everything are in, we got to have a little Studio time yesterday afternoon!  Mom opened some of the blinds in the inner room of the Studio while Mags and I played with our Pickles and had a round of Crazed River Otter Games.  After Maggie and I wrapped things up, I thought I'd take a look; they put solar screens in there, so the sun wouldn't beat into the room so much.  Here I am, checking it out:

"So peaceful!  So nice!  So ... zzz ..."

I can enjoy the view without getting super hot now!  It's very ... relaxing, as you can see!

Finishing The Job

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  Remember the big job I told you about a couple days ago? Removing all the windows in Ao4 Headquarters, cleaning the frames, housing, and glass, replacing the screens, replacing the weather-stripping, and replacing some blinds?  We finally took that show up to the top floor and attacked the windows in the guest rooms.

Once Dad got one of the windows out, I pitched in.

"Now THIS is a view!  I can see the hills and fields out back, my favorite neighbor Tao's house, part of the front street ..."

For some reason, before Mom took the old screen out, she asked me to go guard the stairs.  I have no idea why, but hey.  If I'm called to do Guard Duty, then Guard Duty it is!

"Zzz ..."

Oh, trust me!  No one could get past me without me knowing!

We're glad to have this project wrapped up for now!  It's been an exhausting few days!

On The Job

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  For the past couple days, we've been working really hard at a project involving all the windows at Ao4 Headquarters.  We are removing the windows, cleaning the frames, housing, and glass, replacing the screens, replacing the weather-stripping, and in a few cases, replacing the blinds.

Cam and I have been extremely helpful, as you can imagine!  Fear not!  We are Working Breed pups! It's in our DNA to do these things!

"Oooh, I love it when the closet window is open!"

Any Fall Fix-up stuff going on at your place?  Remember not to over do!

Serene Scenery Sunday

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cam.  Before I get started, Maggie says a big, "THANK YOU!" to everyone who wished her a happy Gotcha Day yesterday.  What a wonderful day it was!

For Serene Scenery Sunday, I thought I'd take you along on our walk this morning, OK?  Bundle up; it's right around the freezing mark!  I know -- we LOVE it!

Mom and Dad let me choose the route and I decided we should go for a nice, long one!  We looped up behind the local fire house:

We walked past some hearty wildflowers like these:

I think there's a rule that you have to smile when you see sunflowers, isn't there? What a lovely flower!

We eventually walked past the Kansas Ocean:

"I wonder if my Heron friend is out there?!?"
"I don't see him, Maggie!"

It was such a peaceful, serene walk.  Thanks for coming with us.  Have a wonderful Sunday!

Adopt-A-Maggie Day!!!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  Guess what?!?  It's my Gotcha Day!  My Homecoming!  It's Adopt-A-Maggie Day!!!!  Let's take a quick look back at that day!

Here I am, greeting Cammie properly:

"Hello, little one!"
"Hello, Aunt CamCam!"

And here I am with our great brother Zim:

"Hey, kid."
"Hi, Zimmie!!!  I want to be just like you when I grow up!!!"

He taught me so much! I still love him to pieces!

Here is a shot of Zim and Cammie teaching me how to play Crazed River Otter Games (CROG):

"How does this go again?"
"Cam and I are crazed River Otters and you're a baby River Otter ..."
"... and we run and play!"

They both said I'm a natural! Cam and I have a round of CROG scheduled for later today. We had a great walk this morning (the windchill was 28!!!!) and we need to get some napping in prior to CROG.

Great Walk!

Hello, everyone! It's me, Cammie! This morning, I just couldn't WAIT to go on our walk! Some might guess that it's because we actually waited until it was light out for a change, but no! Do you know why?!?

"This is so awesome!"
"We've been waiting a long time for this, Maggie!!!"
"I can't feel my ears ..."

That's right - the cold front arrived!  We went from being in the "too hot for huskies" temps to a windchill of 31 at walk time!!!  I could walked and walked and walked!  It was wonderful!

Has the weather improved where you are, too?!?

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie.  The other afternoon, my mom had her hands full of all kinds of stuff as I escorted her down to the Studio.  I cautioned her to be careful:

"Thanks,  Cam.  I'll be careful on the stairs."
"That's not exactly what I meant ..."

And when we reached the bottom of the stairs, she understood.

"Ha ROO!"
"See?  There's a crazed River Otter on the loose down here!"

I'd hate for her to drop everything.  Especially since she was carrying treats to put in our Pickles!!!

Mags and Cam

Practice Makes Perfect

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  This morning, we all had a great walk together -- not only did we wait until it actually got somewhat light out, but it was chilly AND we ran into my bff Chelsea the Border Collie!  What fun!  I was just relaxing back at Ao4 Headquarters when I heard my mom ask, "Does anyone know why the bed is all messed up?!?"

"What exactly do you mean by 'all messed up', Mom?"
"Why don't you and I go take a look?"

She went into the bedroom and I could hear her starting to re-make the bed.  I was sure she could use some help, so ...

"Wait for me!!!"
"Mags!  Were you doing aircraft carrier landings?!?"

"That's entirely possible."

Since she brought up aircraft carrier landings, I figured she'd want me to get some "touch and goes" practice in.  I left the room, then zoomed back in:

"Coming in for a quick landing!!!"

"YEAH!  How was that?!?"
"I think your brakes are off, Maggie."

"'Brakes'?  Do you mean my tailhook?  We don't use those for 'touch and goes'."

I thought I should try again - maybe try a lighter landing and quicker take-off.

"I'm taking another run, Mom!  Look out!"
"Maggie, I'm trying to make the bed!!!"

Me, slamming on the brakes!  ... I mean, engaging the tailhook.

You know, I could get a lot more practice in if someone didn't keep messing with my runway!  No worries, though - I'll keep at it!

Christmas In The City!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  Some of you might remember us telling you about a quilt we helped our mom with - Christmas In The City.  She had put the quilt on hold for a bit, figuring out how she wanted to do the binding, then getting distracted by other things.  She's finally done, though, and had Dad hold it up for her for some photos.

"Looks good, Mom.  I thought it had more of that funky retro fabric in it, though."
"That's the back, Maggie."

Yeah.  I knew that.  Well, the back looks totally boss, too.  Hip.  Swinging.  Coooooool.

Serene Scenery Sunday

Greetings to all! It's me, Maggie, here with Serene Scenery Sunday. Yesterday morning when it was time for our walk, it was pouring down rain. We all took a quick one together, then came back inside. Later on, Dad took me for a nice, long one. We got poured on again, but there were times when it wasn't raining, so we had tons of fun. I even made a new friend at the Kansas Ocean!

I was very calm and quiet. I think he liked me! Mom said I must have been channeling my inner Zim. ❤  I liked hearing that!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Maggie and I realized we hadn't done an upper stairway pose in quite a while - not since the new carpet arrived! - so we figured it was about time.  Plus, Mom had treats.

"Does the new carpet make us look different?"
"I'm going for the relaxed pose, OK?"
"Good job, Mags.  Cam, your ear-radar tells me you're worried about something ..."

Oh.  Right.  It was that light behind us.  It was pouring down rain and got really dark out.  The stairway lights come on automatically when it's dark out.

"So much rain!"
"Rain, schmain.  I'm mesmerized by the treats."

Once I knew why the lights had come on, I was good to go.

"How's this, Mom?"
"Yeah, c'mon.  I think it's treat time!"
"Perfect!  Let me back up a bit."

It wasn't easy, but ... you know.  Working Breed dogs.

"I think this one's a keeper!"
"Money shot, huh, Mom?!?"
"SQUEE!"

I'm Needed Here

Greetings to all! It's me, Maggie! Today, I'd like to --- oh. Oh, hang on.

"Hey, Mom!  Whatcha doing?  Need some help?"
"Umm ... nah, that's OK, Mags ..."

OK, sorry. Mom obviously needs my help but doesn't want to admit it. I'll have to put this on hold for right now.  I'm on ladder-holding duty!  Safety first!

One Benefit

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  It's been getting darker earlier and lighter later here in the Northern Hemisphere, which means a few things.  Obviously, it means the cold weather is coming (YAY!) but also that it's pretty dark when we start our walks now.  There is at least one huge benefit to this ...

"SCORE!"
"What did you get, Mags?!?!"

It was a nice, big cicada, buzzing like crazy!

"So close, yet so far."
"Dad can be really quick, you know?"

Yeah, Dad made me drop it.  That's OK, though.  So many more opportunities when it's dark out!

Cammie!

Working

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Yesterday was a very busy day, with lots of coming and going and rushing around.  I thought maybe today would be a day to relax and regroup, but no!  Mom put Maggie and me to work already this morning!

Here we are, on KP duty:

"Something smells awesome up there, Mom!"
"I smell Stinky Goodness!!!"
"Thankfully, I smell my Campsite Coffee candle ..."

Somewhere along the line, Mom decided lighting a candle was a good idea while making Frozen Stinky Goodness Treats.  It's OK with Mags and me; we can still smell the Stinky Goodness!

Once my kibble had soaked, it was time for some taste-testing.  Mom leaves that up to me and Mags.

"They look fork-tender!  Let me taste!"

I thought Maggie should sample it, too.  Just to be sure.

"Oh, heck, yeah!"

I think you can tell from our pupils how happy and excited we were.  I mean ... we're Working Breed dogs.  We THRIVE on work!

Once we gave Mom the green light, she started mushing it up:

"🎶 ... cause we're making Stinky!  Stinky Goodness!  Stinkiest treats in the land!  Stinky, stinky goodness ... 🎶
 -- come on, girls!  Sing it with me!!!"

Yes, it's hard putting up with her singing, but it's all part of the job.

Mom even made some super big ones in our special molds this time:

She did a couple like that, then filled the device formerly known as the ice cube tray -- now a Stinky Goodness mold.  After that, it was my job to clean the bowl out - with an assist from Maggie.

Whew, what a morning!  But I do love the work -- and I wouldn't mind putting some overtime into this job!!!
