Ha roo, pups and cool cats, it's me - Zim. Yesterday was a gorgeous Spring day here at Ao4 HQs and Mom and I did a little gardening! I was a huge help to Mom, so I thought I'd have her take pictures so I could show you what I did. Ready? Let's go!
It started when Mom showed me this cool box we got in the mail!
Hey, cool! I smell... Airedales!
WOWZERS! Pink Lily of the Valley!
Isn't that cool? They dug up some of their mom's pink Lily of the Valley and sent them to us! Oh... I should point out that I'm pretty sure they had their mom's permission to do that. Pretty sure. Anyroo, they packed them really well and they were still damp and healthy-looking. Mom said we needed to plant them right away and give them a nice drink of water!
I decided we should put them with our other Lily of the Valley; it's a nice, shady spot for them to hang out in!
I got Mom busy with her little shovel while I went on Guard Duty.
I've got the south-east flank covered!
Good thing I was there, too!
Alert! Something's coming!!!
Sure, it was just school kids this time, but it could have been something ELSE just as easily!
Mom got them all in and settled, and gave them a nice, easy drink from the hose. Maggie and Mitch had packed the little pips in sawdust (from their dad's workshop, I'll bet!), and I suggested we scatter that around them to help them feel at home.
Good luck, you guys!
As if I wasn't tired enough from that, we also put flowers in the mailbox planter. We put in some white Wave Petunias and some red Geraniums and this thing we've never planted before called a Mandevilla.
Here's a bloom on the Mandevilla.
In a short period of time, those ought to fill the planter up nicely!
Oh, don't feel bad for Oswald! We put a pot of deep red Geraniums on the porch that he can reach much, much easier.
Maggie and Mitch! Many thanks to you and your mom for the really special Lily of the Valley. We hope they'll be happy here; we'll do our best to help them thrive! We love having a new addition to our garden - Maggie and Mitch Lily of the Valley!
Play bows,
Zim
oooooooooooooooooooh - they'll be beautiful under your burning bush, guys, and once they take hold your mom will never have to weed again! Those suckers love to spread!
ReplyDeleteThat was some of dad's sawdust from his workshop! He dumps it in our woods and uses it in the vege garden and it had just rained so we were in luck! Enjoy!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
oh how kind of Maggie and Mitch!
ReplyDeleteZim the plants look just beautiful. My Jeannie managed to kill off the Lily of the Valley when she moved here 25 years ago........she does not particularly have green fingers, more black ones!
I look forward to seeing those boys when they are grown up more, they will be sooooooooo pretty.
I am back in the world of blogging now, my J has stuck the axe through the computer, and it is working very well now......... ;0D although in pieces..........
lotsalicks, Marvin xxxx
hello again!
ReplyDeleteWe don't go to England until the end of the month, Sunday 31 May till 3 June. We are driving down overnight on the Sunday, so I am very excited about this adventure.
My J says it is just such a shame we cannot stay any longer.......with my Grandma, her Ma In Law,;0D, but my Human Bruvs have lots of holidays in Europe to fly to the next week.
So I will be around for a few posts yet! I have my passport ready so I can cross the border into England, and I am taking plenty of haggis with me, to keep me fortified........
although I don't really want to be 45................
I digress, I am confused Marvin yet again it seems.
