"... and stretch ... and hold ..." |
That always helps me relax - but I think I need a bit more. Care to take a look around our gardens with me? Let's head outside. It pleases me to say that you bipeds out there might want to grab a sweatshirt! Yep! Frost on the proverbial pumpkin last night! Ha roo!!
Let's check in on the mums! All of the ones I showed you last weekend are still blooming. I like white ones - have a look!
And now the burgundy ones are joining in!
Welcome to the party, Burgundies!
Could you see the flowers on the plants Davy helped Mom water yesterday? Here's a closer look:
PURPLE! |
Speaking of purple ... the Russian Sage over on the north side of the house is looking mighty colorful:
MORE PURPLE! |
It must have been that pep talk I had with them when I got back from Keats last week! Now if it would just stand UP! Come on! You can do it! (It never hurts to encourage others.)
Want to see what the back yard looks like from where that Russian Sage is? Turn toward the west:
Left to right down there are the Amur Maples, an Austrian Pine, some Emerald Green Arborvitae, and the Purple Ash -- turning PURPLE!!! Here's what's funny about when it just starts to turn colors, though -- check it out from underneath:
Same tree! Kind of cool, don't you think?
We have a White Ash right by the deck.
I know. Clearly not white. Someone should have consulted with Dave, Guide Dog for the Color Blind! It sure is pretty, though!
Our Maiden Grasses are sending out their feathery plumes. I thought this one looked especially cool:
The red plumes echo the reds in the Amur Maples up on the top tier!
Here's a look down that second tier; last week I showed you the line up from the other end - and the Maiden Grass wasn't even poufy yet!
Wowzers, what a change! You can also see the lavenders in there and the new Shenandoah Switchgrasses.
How are you feeling now? A bit more serene? Me, too. I might need to do some more yoga once we get inside, though - just to make sure I'm completely in the Zen of Zim Zone.
"... Superdog stretch and ... hold ..." |

We needed this one today. Momma started crying when she opened the cupboard and saw the little bottle of Mango's pepcid AC for his gassy innards. But then she read your post and she is much calmer, so thanks.
