I navigated on the way there, of course. We actually had to stop for another car to make our left turn into the park. Trust me, that's blog-worthy.
"Turn here, Mom! Ooh! Car!" |
Mom snapped that pic real fast while we waited for the car. Cool gas station, huh? We'll come back to that on the way out of town!
When we got there, we were delighted to see the trees were in full Fall swing!
"Cool! Look at all those golden colors!" |
That path goes around the whole perimeter of the park; we decided to walk the whole thing before we stopped for pictures under the trees. Something about someone needing to burn some energy off. Hmm.
There are wide-open farm fields on the far side of the park:
"I can see for MILES out here!" |
I thought I saw Colorado, but Mom said it was the town of Riley. Close enough!
We walked back around to where the Sea Monster is and I saw another old friend!
"Nose rubbies!" |
I love that guy!
I also did some climbing ...
... and went down that cool slide that I showed you on our last trip to Keats! I was too fast for Mom this time, but I can assure you, I had a blast.
Over in this area, the trees have lots of red in them:
On the other side of the park entrance, they're all golds and yellows and oranges and stuff:
It's nice that they color-coordinated things like that.
There was plenty to admire in the park - and on the other side of the street - so I was happy to stand still and do some posing.
Do you like my camouflage job?

My serious look |
Ha roo! |
Mom called that one the "Money Shot", but I don't remember getting paid. Well, actually I do. Payment made with a cool adventure, a walk in the warm Autumn sunshine, and admiring God's color palette with my Mom. And squirrels to look at. And being ready for a nice nap when I got home. Perfect!
On the way out of town, Mom shot a couple of her favorite buildings and did some special effects on them. Here's the limestone house we showed you on our last trip:

You blend in beautifully. What wonderful colors only made better by the company. You have set the scene now for a beauty filled nap. Thank you.

Hi there, Oh Zim I love your photos. You are one handsome dude.
ReplyDeleteThe colors were pretty-we get the golden yellows with Aspens but my favorite fall colors are the reds.
Hope you have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteCindy & Millie
what another great adventure. it was so windy here today that mom says all our leaves may be off the trees...
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! The trees were just starting to turn when we took our vacation, so we were still too early to see them. I love all the colors.
ReplyDeleteSam
Wow, you just about disappeared for a bit there! That's cool. I think your fall colors are incredibly beeYOUtiful. We don't get colors like that down in Texas. Here the leaves just turn brown and fall off.
ReplyDeleteyour navigating style is too funny, Zim :) such beatuiful colors! It's a good thing you had your mom on a leash, otherwise she might not have known where you were! Great pictures of the gas station and limestone house!
