This does NOT look like 1-3 inches to me! Can you believe this, Zim?
Umm, Dave. You know who said we were just going to get a "light dusting", don't you?
Woo. Then it hit me. Previously, at Ao4 HQs...
Sniff... sniff...
My snowcast calls for a light dusting, with a chance of flurries throughout the day.
Ammy's never wrong! But I saw the radar myself! How does she know these things?!?! Woo.
Anyway, the girls took Mom for a walk after me and Zimmie did.
Good weather call, Ammy! I didn't doubt you for a second!
Thank you, Stormy!
I don't know why anyone would listen to any other meteorologist! What was I thinking?!!? Sorry for doubting you, Ammy! Woo. In fact - there was a cool event last night that Am wants to tell you about, so let me pass the post over to her!
Luv,
Dave
Thank you, Davy! Hi everypuppy and everycat! It's me, Ammy, here with an Ao4 Weather Moment. Well, actually it's more like an Astronomy Moment... but close enough! Did you see the full moon last night? Did you know it was the biggest full moon we'll see this year? Because of the elliptical path of the moon's orbit, it was as close to earth as it gets! It's also called the "Wolf Moon"! You can read more about it here.
Mom and I took a couple photos to share with you. We had cloudy skies for the first one, but it's still pretty:
And here's a shot after our skies cleared:
Wolf Moon 2010
The snow sure didn't pan out like we had hoped, but the full moon was sure something to howl about. :) I hope you enjoyed the photos! Ha-rooooooo!
Love,
Ammy
Pathetic snow, you guys, but the moon made up for it, didn't it?
ReplyDeleteI was watching it last night and I didn't know those stories you told, but it was wonderful.
You guys ought to move to Minniesnowda if you want real snow!
We'd welcome you!
Kisses,
Stella
Thats called a dusting of smow :-)
ReplyDeleteWizz
Thats is once again a trumph for our lovely weather forcaster.. A light dusting for sure.. Once again dad is in awe of your mum's moon pictures.. Brilliant.. Tanks for showing us... HUgs GJ x
ReplyDeleteWe were wondering ...if we ever got paid in bones the many times the biped is wrong, we would have bones for the rest of our days. Cool pictures. Our full moon had Mr. Foggy on it
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Maybe they meant 1 to 3 inches of snow in width?!
ReplyDeleteYou got more than we did, though.
WooOF! That sure doesn't look like an inch of snow to me! I love your Moon Pics Mom kept looking out at it but it was SOOOOOO Cold she didnt even bother going out to take pictures! LAZY!!
ReplyDeleteCrossing my paws we all get MORE SNOW SOON! BOL :)
Licks,
Your fellow Honorary Sibe!
Kylie
Howl-ly Moon!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about snow... but sure that one is not enough for you, right?
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Hey Dave...I'm so sorry that you only got a little bit of snow and that sure looks like a little bit to me! We have gotten about a foot so far in Virginia. I saw on the news about the wolf moon and was trying to find it last night but never could! Thanks for the photos!!! It must have really been cloudy here! Ammy..you are the best forcaster ever!! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
ReplyDeleteOur moon was just gorgeous last night! We wish we would have known about wolf moon. We would have paid more attention!
ReplyDeleteWe have a wee bit more snow than you guys do but certainly not enough by our standards!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
We are so sorry about your snow. The moon is beautiful though.. Maybe tonight you will get some?
ReplyDeleteBig Sloppy Kisses
Gus, Louie and Callie
I'm sorry you didn't get as much snow as you would have liked.
ReplyDeleteYour mum got much better photos of the moon than my mum did! But she claims moon photos are not her forte. Or something.
Huffs
wow what an amazing shot of the moon!
ReplyDeleteWe can't figure out why the forecasters don't call Ammy to find out what is really going to happen with the weather. That moon is really pretty and bright. We didn't see it cause it was raining here but Ammy probably already knew that.
ReplyDeleteIce shavings or snow..anyways i'll trade it for the hot weather we've been having here in Singapore!
ReplyDeleteKool pics, especially the full moon, makes me wanna hooowwlll...!!
Cheers,
Maxx
Ooooh... nice photos of the moon!
ReplyDeleteSonic
I'm not even sure you can call that a light dusting.
ReplyDeleteKat
oh we had the most lovely moon here tonight! It was totally amazing, but we didn't take any pics, sadly.
ReplyDeleteYour snow, well I cannot bear to look at snow, cos I am up to here with snow.
(up to my snooter in snow if you must now!)
no seriously, our snow has gone, and we have sunshine, but no warmth to the sunshine.
Some people near me are getting excited about warm sunshine and sea bathing, I have no idea in whatever what they are talking about.
My J says to tell your Ma she has just emailed her in reply to her helpful one about facebook and hiding wild children. I hope it doesn't go into the spam folder, so perhaps you can get your Ma to check her spam.
Mucho love Marvin who is worried about next weekkkkkk!
oooops sorry my paw slipped on the k key.
Ooh, that's a gorgeous photo of the moon! We saw that full moon last night where we live too. Our snow is about the same as yours, but we like that here. I guess poodles and huskies have different preferences for snow depth :)
ReplyDeleteTeddy
Wonderful moon shots! We agree you should have more snow - we probably have about the same amount in Scotland.
ReplyDeleteLoved the 'mystic meg' pic of you Ammy - perhaps we will need to call you 'amazing Ammy' - you certainly have an aura.
love

Countdown to let down is what I say....sorry about the no snow. Maybe today. ;) I love that picture of the 3 leashes, gloved hands, and poop bag below...such a real moment in a dog owner's life. :)
ReplyDeleteNala

ReplyDeleteNot fair. Efurryone south of us gots snow. What happened up North?
Dat is a pawsome moon. We had cloudy skies but da moon had an eery glow around it. HaRoooooooooo!
Husky kisses,
Biloxi
Ammy, I think you should start putting up your forecast for us pups to know what is gonna happen. I was so worried we were gonna get a bunch more snow....If I had known your forecast I wouldn't have had to worry so much.
ReplyDeleteTell your mom great job on the moon photos!
Snuggles,
Twix
A-woooooooooo! Sorry, couldn't help myself after i saw that beawootiful picture of the woolf Moon! good job forecasting, Ammy, once again your Siberian instincts trumped the biped forecasters with all their "scientific methods"!
ReplyDeletea-roos to yous,
jack a-roo & moo too
1-3" hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteThat wolf moon pic is really good! Wish we would have seen it.
Ammy is always right! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing pics of the Wolf Moon! It was raining all night so we didn't get a clear look at the moon.
Hope you get more snow soon!
Mochi
Thanks for the pictures since I completely forgot to go look at it. Would howling at a picture of the moon be stupid?
ReplyDeleteStorm
Isn't a Wolf Moon what causes the Wolf Man? Don't worry about the snow that missed y'all; it hit us - but good. We haven't even been plowed out yet. We are all loving romping in it. Ya know who really loves the snow? Radar, our blind "little" 84 lb brother. He loves shoveling his face in it. He always looks like Frosty The Snowman when he comes in. He's funny. We're sure that Ammy would have made a correct prognostication about our snowfall about; she needs to do guest appearances with Jim Cantore.
