Running An Errand

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me, Zim!  I worked incredibly hard all yesterday morning and half of the afternoon.  Mom and Dad were out digging up bushes, pruning shrubs, pulling weeds for hours on end - and what did Dave and I do?  That's right - supervised.  As many of you know, staying here in the nice, comfy, air-conditioned house while Mom and Dad sweat themselves silly out in the gardens is hard, hard work.

Anyway, when Mom was finally done and had cleaned up, she said she needed to go run an errand.  Dave was on Guard Duty in the bedroom, but I offered up my services to go with her.  She said she was just going to the Vet School, but I insisted - what if she got lost?  What if someone at the school needed to scratch my ears?  What if there were other pups, kit-cats, or other patients who could use a friend?  Yep, I had to go with her!

I had a blast checking everything out, then we went inside.  We were just picking up a couple on-going prescriptions for me and Dave - no muss, no fuss.

I stopped to strike a pose on the way out; check it out:

I looked around to see if there was anything exciting going on ...

"Mom ... that lady over there staring at me ... I think she needs to rub my ears ..."

... then I got to meet a nice lady with a kit-cat.  She rubbed my ears (the lady, not the kitty!) and commented on how nice and soft my fur is.  She said massaging my pointy little ears was just what she needed.  Funny, it was just what I needed, too.

Mom taught us to not hate going to the vet school by taking lots of "just for fun" trips like this.  We just go in, pick up the meds, then walk around the grounds and do some exploring.  It's great - and helps us relax when we go there for appointments.  Do your bipeds do that for you, too?

I'm sure glad I got to help my Mom run that errand!

Play bows,
Zim

  1. It's amazing how you knew there would be someone there that NEEDED to rub those ears of yours. I am sure she felt much better after that. Does you service and compassion ever end?

  3. Even though you went to the vet it sounds like you had a nice visit. At least you were only there to pick up some meds.

  4. You guys are so lucky to be close to such a fantastic school and all those really smart vets!

My vet gives out liver treats when I visit and she is not stingy with them. Needless to say, I LOVE her!

  5. I don't do many just for fun visits, but sometimes Momma takes me with her for moral support when Cinderella has to go in. (She goes for lots of visits 'cause she's an old lady, not young and healthy like me.) You were so right to insist on joining your mom, because you got to help the kit-cat lady just when she needed it!

  6. Great job, Zimmie! You and Davey have always be wonderful helpers of your pawrents. We are so proud of you two!

We'll think of this post and your smiley photos whenever we need to visit our Dr. VET and get a bit nervous.

Enjoy the rest of the week, Zimmie!

  9. Well done for supervising your pawrents, I bet you were worn out by they time they finished. What a great trip you had too. How exciting is that. I don't like trips to the vets and only go when I have to. But, my vet is at the back of a big pet store so I get to go look at the pretty collars and toys afterwards which is nice :)xx

  10. I don't get to do that, Zimmie. But I hate going in the car so the more I stay home, the better it is.

  11. We can't believe how hard you two have been working lately! You make us tired!

I don't go hang out at the vet but they all talk to me real nice there although I still don't like it. The vet gives me lots of treats! They're called "Lean Treats" so does that mean I'll start leaning sideways?

  15. My momma did the same thing with Angus and Raja and Pi and Me but she forgot to take PeeWee on fun vet trips and now he is all freak a zoid shaking scared dog at the vet. Sheesh.

I'm glad you were able to go along because after all that hard work she could have totally passed out or something and then what?
