Check Up!

Woo, everypup and everycat!  It's me, Dave.  Guess where I got to go yesterday?  To see my vet!  It was time for my monthly check-up.  When you're 14-1/2, your vet likes to see you a lot - I'm pretty sure it's because my vet likes me.  That must be it!  Anyway, here are the highlights from my trip!

I saw one of the Vet Techs in the admissions area; she came over just to give me tummy rubs.  My student gave me more tummy rubs - and ear scratchies.  After her exam, I hung out with Mom in the exam room:

Mom sits on the floor with me just like at home!  Oh - and see underneath me?  She always brings a cushioned pad or a quilt for me to lay on.  I also stand on whatever she brings for the exam -- that way my feety-feet don't slip around!  It makes things nicer for me and easier for the student and vet!  (We don't have to get on that table thing.)

My vet came in and gave me more tummy rubs... ear scratchies... some more tummy rubs...

"Whatcha got there, Dr. N?"

... AND after the tummy rubs, she fed me a million cookies!  Or maybe it was more like two.  But since I had to fast (something about taking some of my blood... I don't really remember them doing that, I just remember getting a nice, long hug and some tummy rubs...), two seemed mighty good to me!

The vet gave Mom a report that made Mom really happy - then the student called later with more good news.  Oh.  And one other thing.  Check this out:

"Oh, YEAH!!!"

My vet gave me a doggie bag to take home!  Is it any wonder Imy vet?

I hope your vets are as good to you as mine are to me!

  1. Glad to hear the news was all good for you yesterday. We got a postcard from our vet saying Nina was due for her senior care exam, but I think we will skip it since she was just there a couple of weeks ago. It's funny that they just send those things out without checking when the pet was actually there last.

  2. Wow you sure have a great vet!!!! And you looked very much in Zen in that photo, must be from all the tummy rubs. So glad vet results are all pink and rosy. I want to keep reading great posts from you.

Cheers and have a great weekend.

  3. Your vet sounds pawsome! And I agree, he must totally love you since he wants to see you all the time and gives you such nice tummy rubs. My vet is wonderful. She gives me cheese!

  4. We are always happy ro hear about nice great vets and even better when they give you good news.

  5. Happy Paws to you Dave, So glad you had a good report from your vet. I can say that if you go in once a month, no wonder they love you so much-your mom is paying the car payments(jk). Our vet is never like that but that is o.k. because we don't go in anymore that often. We had to take Reggie in a lot when he was with us, because of his failing health but Hunter is one fine young pup and doesn't need check ups.
Have a great weekend and enjoy those treats.

  6. As long as it is good news, we are all thrilled!

  7. Glad you had such a good visit with your vetty. I had to go this morning to pick up my Trifexis - I didn't even have to be examined and I wasn't happy to be there.

Then we had to go to ANOTHER vetty to pick up my new brother who got snipped yesterday and had some problems. He's also really skinny because someone wasn't nice to him before - but we're taking care of him now.

    You take care

  9. We're glad your vet is so good to you Davy and also had a good report for your mom too! Our mommy won't go to the vet with us since her eyes get leaky for some reason so Daddy takes us.

  10. You are mighty good looking for a moderately old guy. MOL :)

We are glad you got a good report and that your visits are not traumatic!

  11. Hi Dave!!
Wow that's really great!! Makes it sound like a trip to the dog spa! My next trip will be next month...Here's hoping my vet will have treats for me too, i dont really mind if there's no tummy rubs..wonder if he'll massage my paws..;-) LOL!

    Cheers and hi to Zim!!

  12. Dave,
Are you sure they don't just want you to go to the vet all the time because the plain love seeing you? Seems to me that your exams consist primarily of belly rubs and stuff. Same thing happens to me. The vets like totally rub me all over. It feels great, right?

    Glad your checkup went OK.

  13. Aww that last picture is so cute!! Dave, you look so kissable!! :D I'm glad the vet visit went great and was all good news. :)

  14. Dave, you are a lucky pup to have such a good vet! you know, as much as we hate going to see ours, the doc and techs do treat us well. none of us have ever gotten a doggy/kitty bag tho! oh, and we're super glad you had a great check up :)

  15. Dave I am so happy that all is well with you and that your Vetperson is so nice to visit. Mine is too, but I still get real scared every time I go there and shake like crazy. Between you and me, it helps me get more treats and attention, but don't tell Mommy please
