"What do you say we start with a sunset, Squee Key?" |
Did I mention Squee Key Moose was helping me? Well, he is. He makes me feel mighty serene.
Here's a sunset from the other night:
Here's a sunset from the other night:

Aren't the colors warm and wonderful? I thought so, too.
Here's another photo with a nice splash of color:
"SQUEEEEEEAKKKK!!!" |
That's me and our cool Rope and Camo Squeaky Toy All-in-One! It's a lot of fun and it SQUEAKS! I love a good squeaker - and it sure makes me all kinds of serene to play with this!
Guess who else PLAYED with it?!?
Zimmie! |
Zim! Isn't that all kinds of wonderful!?!? He doesn't really play with many toys (he's a VERY playful guy, just not with toys) so not only did playing with our All-in-One make HIM feel serene, it also made Mom feel all warm and smushy inside.
Speaking of Zim ... he here is, stopped at a red light, enjoying the car ride portion of one of his adventures:
"It's Bill Snyder Family Stadium!!! GO CATS!!!" |
That's the football stadium where the Kansas State University Wildcats play. Last night was the Big 12 Championship game! The Cats were playing the Texas Longhorns. And we all know who's originally from Texas, don't we?
Me. Dave. Cool special effects thingie done by my mom. |
Yeah. So ... as you can see in the shot above, I was wearing my orange for Texas. But I was conflicted. I mean, we live in Wildcat Country and our vet school is part of KSU and so I LOVE them and normally support the Cats ... but they were playing Texas.
I kept my orange on, but opted for my purple camo leash when I went outside.

Not all of us were struggling with who to back for the big game.
Zim. Cat backer all the way! |
It was a great game and the Cats won! Woo! (I mean, really. I'm a Texan, but I have to root for the home team, right? And this IS Serene Sunday!) Congrats to the Cats - and now it's on to the Fiesta Bowl!
Mom and Zim also saw a really cool hawk again this week, and it was close enough to the house that Mom came back and got the camera (instead of the iPhone). She ran back out (unfortunately without Zim) and got these shots of the hawk:
Obviously, he was up on a utility pole.
I think he spotted Mom here.
Mom! Look out!!!
He flew to another pole instead of attacking Mom. Whew. It was a little un-serene for a minute there.
We hope you enjoyed this week's installment of Serene (Scenery) Sunday. Many thanks to Squee Key Moose for his invaluable assistance. Have a wonderful day, everyone!
Luv,
Dave
Oh Dave ... you and Zim ALWAYS give us the coolest thingys to look at and contemplate.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS fur sharing your super stuffs with us.
That was lovely and serene. I caught a rat this week. Mum did not feel serene after that.
ReplyDeleteHi Dave, I love your Serene Sunday; especially all the scenery and the hawk was so beautiful. I haven't seen one that up close before.
ReplyDeleteGo Cats; Stanford is going to the Rose Bowl.
Have a great evening.

ReplyDeleteI was really in the serene Sunday groove until that hawk made the evil eye at your mom. Yikes!

I feel so serene now, that I think I will take a nap and dream about your beautiful sunset. I love all the pictures, but the cool fancy magic one is my favorite today. I hope I don't dream about that hawk attacking me...serent thoughts...serene thoughts.
ReplyDeleteLoveys Sasha
Dave you are so lucky to take your toys outside to play with. You look most handsome in orange. That sunset was beautiful to and what a cool looking hawk. Oh yea Bokeh likes to ride up front in the car like zim.
ReplyDeleteWe always love you serene Sundays!

Aaaaahhhhh a very Serene Sunday...we could have used some of that serenity last night during the game....Sheesh, Mama and Daddy were yelling at the TV and EVERYTHING!!

Smileys!

Dude! We always feel serene after looking at your photos! Although we are glad that we don't have to struggle with which football team to support. Although not a Utah native, Mom got all of her degrees at the University of Utah, and while she's not a huge football fan, she DOES pay attention to the annual Holy War between Utah and BYU, as Mom is proud to be a 'heathen' (well, compared to the people from 'that Bible school down south' as BYU is often called).

You always have a lot to show us and you didn't let us down today either. Your mom was lucky that the hawk was facing her. Do you know what they often do when the lift their tail besides fly away? I'm just saying...it could have been messy.

Dave I am so glad I got to be here before Sunday ended (that's about in 50 minutes). MOM was gone from Saturday afternoon until Sunday night. She spent the whole time at church. Decorating the place for the Advent/Christmas season. Yes she put up trees and lights and all other decorations. Then she spent the night there with her kids. The youth lead the worship service which included doing a play for the message part. I am told it was all kinds of funny and a great message. But MOM only got 1 1/2 hours sleep. But my MOM loves it (even though sometimes she says she is to old to sleep on floors and get only a very little sleep). But I say "Hey we sleep on rocks and sticks when we backpack and camp and you don't sleep that much anyway.)So she had the puter with her so I could not stop by earlier for my weekly dose of serene Sunday. But so happy I got to before the day ends. Oh and while she was decorating the church they had the big game on. MOM did cheer for the Cats (she likes them, her close friend, who was helping decorate too went to KSU). But MOM has many family members who went to Texas. But she still cheered for the Cats. OK I have just rambled on and on. MOM's tiredness must be rubbing off on me. Have a beautiful week my friends.

Goose
Glad you had such a serene Sunday. Have a marvelous Monday and we hope it is a fun one. The hawk was stunning!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We're so happy to hear that the hawk was nice to your mom. Your Sunday posts always make us feel serene, even on a Monday!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,

Those are some grreat pics. I can understand your being conflicted, but I do appreciate your wearing orange for Texas all the same.
ReplyDeleteGO CATS! I'm so happy they won. Sorry about TX Dave.
ReplyDeleteZim, I can't believe you played with a toy. Were you playing tug-o-war with it? I don't love toys but I love playing tug.
