We meant to share this one with you earlier! One evening when Zim and Mom were driving back from somewhere, they saw what they thought was the best Christmas lights display in the neighborhood. Here's a look:
"I give these guys the 'Best Christmas Lights Display in the Neighborhood Award'!!!" |
It's a grainy picture, but you get the idea. Simple, yet a strong statement about the true meaning of Christmas! Well done, neighbors!
Last night, we had just a beautiful sunset. No clouds or anything to make it real interesting, but when Mom and I were out front, we noticed the way the setting sun was lighting up one of our Maiden Grasses - it was incredible! We snapped a couple pix to share with you:
See what I mean?!? It's like the grass was on fire!
Zim went on an adventure the other day to a place I first told everyone about back in January of '09. It's a cool scenic overlook called ... um ... I think it's called Scenic Overlook ... over on the east side of town. You can see all kinds of cool stuff up there!
Serene Scenic Overlook |
Can you see the "KS" out there on the hills? That's a big landmark-y thing here. You can just see Zimmie down at the bottom of the frame. He said to tell you he certainly wasn't trying to snarf up any of those tasty-looking red berries from the bushes there. ...
Moving right along ...
"Now that looks interesting!!!" |
Zim thought the view down that little path was every bit as interesting as the view from the "scenic overlook"! I have to agree!
Here's a look over on the other side - the "scenic" side:
You can see campus and a lot of the downtown area from up there!
"What a view! Huh, Mom?" |
Zim and Mom enjoyed the view for a bit, then were off on the next part of their adventure.
Lastly, here's a shot of me, looking at our little Nativity flag:
"Just ... beautiful!" |
I hope you feel a little more serene now than when you got here. Have a wonderful Sunday!
Luv,
Dave
OMD OMD Dave and Zim... We almost PEED on the Screen when we saw what we THOUGHT was a BLAZING FIRE in your yard. WHEW... glad we stopped ourselves. WOW what super pictures you have for us today!!!

Hi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteQuick note before computer freezes again! Found out it's the hard drive and trying to nurse it 'til after Feb. Sorry not commenting more often, but trying to read what I can from reader. Not even able to keep up with email.
Thank you for visitin'! I'll be by as soon as I can!
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Yes I have to agree, the best Christmas lights ever. I will have to have MOM take a picture of how she did the poinsettias in the church. She took 25 white ones made a cross out of them and surrounded it with 25 red ones. I think it is real cool. And of course the sunset photos are amazing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
