"Look, Zim! The mailman's coming!" "I love mailmen!" |
Zim had some heat exhaustion issues when he was first adopted, and one time our "old" mailman stopped to see if he was OK when Zim and Mom were taking a break in some shade. (Dad had jogged home with the girls to get the SUV and some water; it was before my time.) Even though the mailman had been afraid of Zim, he poured his own beverage into his cupped hand and let Zimmie have a drink. Zim loved Mark from that moment on (and Mark wasn't afraid of our pack!) - and still to this day, when he sees a mail truck, he looks for Mark. We pups never forget a kindness!
Right after the mail truck, all the neighbor pups who live at the corner started barking "Hello!" to us. We get all excited when they do that!
"Hi, everypup!" "Ha roo!" |
It's always nice to see friends.
Yep. A little snuggle action.
Oh. Speaking of action! Zim met the new pup next door yesterday!
Bounce, bounce, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, bounce... "Ha roo!" |
He's an 8-week old Yorkie and Zim said he was non-stop wiggles and bounces! And tail wags.
Very active fella. Zim was really happy that he got to meet him. We've had Yorkie friends before (please click here and here if you'd like to see us together) and we look forward to getting to know this little guy.
Another serene scene around here lately has been frost! You can see it here on our Dragon's Blood Sedum:
It looks like frosting on there, doesn't it? Maybe that's where they get the word...
To help Mom feel serene, Zim and I agreed to let her take some pix of us by the front door.
"Hey, we didn't promise to look at the camera or sit or anything crazy like that, did we, Dave?" "No... I'm pretty sure we didn't break Siberian rules!" |
We do have reputations to maintain and all.
"Hey! There's something in the bushes!" "Birdie? Cat? Bunny? Can you tell, Zim?" |
We weren't sure what was in there, but we knew it was something. Getting us to face forward was pretty much out of the question after that. Mom tried her best to cope.
Mom wanted me to be sure to point out that our leashes were secured to the door handle. Well-secured. (That should make all the other bipeds owned by Siberians feel more serene.)
One last thing! We'd like to thank our friends at the Fraidy Cats blog (Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie AND Wriggley) for the following award:
We thoroughly appreciate it! The rules sort of made our heads spin a bit (Minnie linked to them from this post) ... so you can just surf over there from Minnie's post and we'll say a heart-felt "thank you" to our friends.
How's everyone feeling? Calm? At peace? Tranquil? I hope so! Have a wonderful day and remember to stop and find serenity in the little things.
Luv,
Dave

What a nice story about Mark the mailguy. Our maillady gives me treats sometimes, but I still bark at her. That little yorkie was so cute, I have a yorkie pal that lives 2 houses away. She is still pretty bouncy. You look very nice in your front door pictures.

Thank you for the nice walk. Every buddy always needs to be aware of heat exhaustion. Especially us.
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
That was funny how you made your mom move to get a photo of your handsome faces! Your neighbor pup is pretty darn cute! We love the story of Mark the Mailman! Our grandpa from Kansas is a retired Postmaster so we love mailmen too!
ReplyDeleteAww, your mailman sounds like such a nice guy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little guy you met!

That little neighbor of yours looks like Serious Trouble. Mom tells us that those little Yorkie dogs like to eat big dogs - they start at our toes and don't stop! BTW, we are Very Glad to see you didn't break any Sibe rules in the wreath photos - sometimes we worry if you two really are Huskies, but then you remind us that you are true to your breed! Heehee! Great frost photos!

Ohhh, what a lovely day. Zim looks so cute with the little Yorkie and both him and Dave are just so handsome at the front door. <3
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo dodging skills. We gave Master's Mom a run for her money on Saturday on our hike.
ReplyDeleteOur mailman is afraid of me too. I feel like we should educate all the mailpersons out there about the good will of Sibes. You know?
Nora
Awesome post! Love the pics! That is one little friend you have there....so cute!
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of the mailman for helping you out instead of not sharing his water!! That little neighbor dog is cute i bet he would be a good playtoy for you guys....
