My Pleasure!

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me - Zim.  As many of you guessed, yesterday's photo was me working!  Mom and Dad flipped the mattress and changed the sheets over the weekend and I was right there to help!

For some reason, Mom kept saying stuff like, "No, that's OK, Zim -- I've got this!" and "NoNo Really, Zim!" but hey, I'm a Working Breed pup; it is my duty and my pleasure to help out!

"Ha roo!"

Mom always says that no one can turn a 5 minute job into a 20 minute one quite like me, so I know she appreciates my great skills.  Don't you, Mom?!?  Mom?  Mom...?

"Fine.  I'll be out here in the dining room.  In the corner."

I think she just doesn't want me to over-do.

Really.  I don't mind helping.  Do any of you like to help out around the house?  Do your bipeds try to limit your activities?  I think they just don't want us working too hard - that's gotta be it, don't you think?

Play bows,
Zim

  1. I have to say I sense a bit of impatience whenever My Vickie trys to change the sheets on all the doggy beds each day.

Truth is, I am not really trying to help, I am just wanting to play tug of war with her and with anything she happens to be picking up.

Dog beds are just so convenient.

  2. Oh yes I help out. My specialty is when I help MOM sweep the kitchen. I am right there, in front of the broom, no matter where it is. I must make sure that all dust bunnies, kibble, and stray furs are properly swept up. I am not sure MOM would see it all if I was not there to point them out. She also says that it would go faster if I did not help. Well I say do you want it done fast or right? Maybe I have some working dog in me too.

  4. Labs are working dogs just like sibes and when we have a mission we're doggone serious about it. I've got a whole list of things I do everyday...post myself outside the door while Mom and Dad each have their showers, escort Mom to the mailbox each day, trot next to them and guide them each when they pull their car and van into the yard to make sure they park correctly and guard the kitchen. This is the most important part of my day. Big eyes and panting with my tongue hanging out are geared to get my supper served before theirs. Maui has important kittycat chores, too. She weaves back and forth in front of Mom to escort her to the kitchen several times a day, sits in front of the keyboard to get lots of head pats, warms Mom's lap in the evening so her book or handwork are comfortable and sleeps right on the pillow purring a lullabye for Mom to sleep at night.
We do our service with joy :-)

  7. Oh Zim cleaning bedding needs a good roll to make it smell nice. Dishwashers need a lick and gardens need a dig. None of these are appreciated. The peeps r not nice. Have a terrific Thursday. Keep calm and carry on!!!
    Best wishes Molly

  9. Well Zim at our house maggie supervises mom vaccuming, in fact she hates the vaccum and tried to dead it every day, cos one time and only one time the vaccum ran over her foot and scared her...maggie hold big grudges, I usually just lay in my recliner and watch mom clean up and check it off the list once she gets it done....dad taught me how to do that.

  10. Uh, Zim? Think about this if you will , , ,perhaps your Mom cannot do up the bed as nicely as you can and there could be a little jealousy there. So just let her keep practicing until she learns and maybe in a year or so, she will feel confident enough to let you help her. In the meantime, just leave her to the work and check it off the list like Stella Rose does. And Don't Feel Bad! Your snow forts still there?

    Kisses,
    Stella

  13. I LOVE bed sheet changing day. It's my most favourite thing of the week. Mum is always telling me she doesn't need my help either. Maybe because it's summer and she doesn't want me to get too hot...?

  14. Sam helps us all the time - and sometimes we just make the bed over him.

  16. I like to help clean the dishes after supper. I think Mommy appreciates it. I also like to leave my toys out so they are ready for me to play with them at any time. I do my best to pitch in around here.

  17. In the corner Zim... Not so fun. Keep trying to help. We bet deep down she likes the help. Our Mom starts laughing sometimes and when stuff comes out of the dryer...ooooo that is good and warm sometimes the little ones run for anything that might fall out ofthe dryer and then curl up on
    It.

  18. I definitely have working dog in me too. Every single day, Momma makes the bed wrong. You'd think she'd get it right eventually, but NO. But I don't yell at her. I just jump up after she's done and fix things properly.

  19. Our favorite place to help out is in the kitchen. We love to position ourselves in front of the frig or the stove or the sink or mom's counter where she works. We are the bestest helpers!

    Love ya lots,
