Ha roo, pups and cool cats! It's me, Zim. I've been going out on adventures, helping my mom find all kinds of cool stuff lately. In the bird department, we saw a
Kingfisher for the very first time ever, a
Mississippi Kite, and even a
baby Killdeer!!! (
One of the parents was right there, a couple feet away, and
the other was about 10 yards away, pretending to be hurt to lure predators over there! It was a mighty cool scene -- you can click any of those highlighted words to see the photos in our Flickr account.) Anyway, one day, Mom said she wanted to go out in search of wildflowers and asked if anyone wanted to go with her; I told her I was just the pup for the job!
We went all over the place, but finally, in a meadow up on top of a hill, I spotted some!

"Look, Mom!" |
A field full of Black Eyed Susans and Prairie Coneflowers! Take a closer look!
That's the Black Eyed Susans on the right; you can see some of the Prairie Coneflowers on the left! Here's another look at some of the Prairie Coneflowers:
Aren't they cool?!!?

"I feel so Kansas-y!" |
This has been a great year for wildflowers!
Here's another look - Coneflowers in the front, Black Eyed Susans in the back:
Mom wanted to look around for more Black Eyed Susans. I did my best to look around to find what she wanted.

"Ooh! Over there, Mom!" |
Seriously. I'm a professional. This is the shot Mom was after:
Mom said she wouldn't have found everything without my help.
