Serene Scenery Snow Day!

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me, Zim.  We were all set to blog about a couple recent birding ventures Mom has gone on this week and show you some of the cool birdies she saw, but as they say, "We interrupt this program to bring you the following bulletin..."

It started yesterday afternoon.  Maggie took Mom out to the yard and made an important discovery:

"Zimmie!  Aunt Cammie!  Someone's ice maker exploded all over our driveway!"

We've tried telling Maggie what her first big snow will be like, but there are some things you just need to experience for yourself!  We told her to wait and that it would get better.

Sure enough, the icy stuff changed over to snow and kept falling and falling and falling.  And falling. It was SO GREAT! We thought we'd turn today into Serene Scenery Snow Day - and we'll get to the birdies tomorrow or so. First up is Cammie!

For the past few days, she's been convinced someone's been hiding under the bushes by the front door. She didn't let a little thing like 8 or so inches of snow stop her from checking it out:

"Ho dee doh dee doh ..."

"BOOM!"

She hasn't found anything yet, but that doesn't mean there isn't something there! Sibes always know!

"The front door area is safe.  For now."

She's VERY good at security!  And got a cute snow nose in the process!

Here's a great portrait of her:

She's a beauty, isn't she?  And if you knew her in person, you'd know she's just as beautiful on the inside!

OK - let's let Maggie have a go at the snow!  She did a little exploring...

"WOW!  I wonder if Cammie and Zim know we have a mountain in our front yard?!!?"

... and made important discoveries!

"It's fluffy and cold ... and what's that??"

IMG_3099Maggie
"It's like a ball, only it doesn't squeak and it disappears when I bite it!"

Here's a shot of her cute snow nose, too:

Gotta love my kid sisters!

After Mom and Dad finished shoveling, I came out and inspected.

IMG_1588Zim
"Oh, yeah.  Good job.  And thanks for piling it all along the edge of the driveway."

Yep.  They piled it high.  That can only mean one thing - and I got right to work!

IMG_1592Zim
"They MUST want me to build a really cool snow fort here!"

IMG_1595Zim
"Let me reinforce a bit before we go inside, Mom."

I got a good start on it!  Later on, I'll give the girls a tutorial on how to build a really cool snow fort, then we'll work together.  I think they're both up to it!

Before I took Mom inside, I had one more thing to do!

"I know Cammie already checked, but I've gotta make sure!"

Hey.  It always pays to check.  What if there IS someone in the bushes?!?

I'll keep you posted on my really cool snow fort!  Happy Serene Scenery Snow Day!!!

Play bows,
Zim

  8. Wow oh wow! First, Cammie looks really lovely in her pink!

Second, I'm super jealous that you got the actual predicted amount of snow. Our weather forecasters are ALWAYS wrong here. We only got like 2 inches and that's being generous.

    boo.

  12. I'm so glad you guys got the snow you wanted. We didnt' get much at all compared to you. Just a couple of inches. Thanks for hogging it and not leaving much for me :0)

  13. A snow fort at last! I'm not sure you want the gals to help or not. They might just wind up adding closet space when what you really need is a Zim cave where you can hang with Dad.

    Dexter
